After all, if successfully used, it could get in the way of some stonings in the Middle East, and some honor killings elsewhere. Members of the Egyptian parliament have called for its banning; it's that big a deal. Of course, there are two angles to play here: One is pandering to the clerics and supporters of more stringent Sharia (in a country where the vast majority of women have undergone female genital mutilation). The other concerns the fact that it's easier to harp on the alleged moral failings of an already subjugated segment of society -- one that is "deficient in religion and intellect," according to Muhammad (Bukhari 1.6.301) -- than to address corruption, unemployment, and other issues.
"Egypt anger over virginity faking," by Magdi Abdelhadi for BBCNews, September 28:
A leading Egyptian scholar has demanded that people caught importing a female virginity-faking device into the country should face the death penalty.
Abdul Mouti Bayoumi said supplying the item was akin to spreading vice in society, a crime punishable by death in Islamic Sharia law.
The device is said to release liquid imitating blood, allowing a female to feign virginity on her wedding night.
Understatement in 3... 2...
There is a stigma about pre-marital sex in some conservative Arab societies.
The contraption is seen as a cheap and simple alternative to hymen repair surgery, which is carried out in secret by some clinics in the Middle East.
It is produced in China and has already become available in other parts of the Arab world.
The device is reported to be on sale in Syria for $15.
Professor Bayoumi, a scholar at the prestigious al-Azhar University, said it undermined the moral deterrent of fornication, which he described as a crime and one of the cardinal sins in Islam.
Members of parliament in Egypt have also called for banning import of the item.
Deception in most areas of life is deplorable but in this area, it would be funny -- if some young woman's life didn't depend on it.
what's next...mandatory Muslim gyn exam before every Muslim sexual encounter?...
I bet the Muslim men don't check their slave girls for virginity status..
From the article:

*It [this virginity-faking device] is produced in China* {my emphasis added - dda}".
Made in China, like so much other stuff, these days...trust the business-minded Chinese to spot a market opportunity.
Question - *what* do they call it? How do they advertise it? *How* do the prospective customers find out about it (word of mouth?) and how is it sold...on ebay? Delivery in a plain brown paper parcel? Can you even *begin* to imagine the advertisements, and the testimonials?
Like Kineddar pointed out above - if this weren't so deadly serious (since in dar al Islam a girl accused of not being a virgin at marriage, can be murdered out of hand) it would be hilarious.
I have this picture in my head of the factory in China, where they *make* the things...does it have an all-girl staff? What sort of jokes do they tell each other?
*Who* invented it, in the first place?? Is he, or she, *ever* going to own up to having done so?
Why is the "religion of peace" always calling for the death penalty? (sarc)
Banning won't do any good.
Something as useful - and lifesaving! - as this will find smugglers in no time. Where there's such a vast potential market, there will be suppliers eager to make money.
Those sneaky Chinese Infidels, helping spread Corruption in the land!
PS - perhaps *that*'s how those heavenly houris manage their perpetually renewed virginity. They cheat! They have a bedside drawer or a pillowcase full of Little Chinese Helpers. Cartoon, anyone? X-rated comedy skit?
Where, O where are the Monty Python team when you need them?
There's that term again: "Islamic scholar." A scholar who is Islamic is an intellectual slave to the fascist world view of the 7th century pirate, Mohammed, a man driven by his insatiable lusts for sex and power. Because of this intellectual slavery, the "Islamic scholar" is utterly incapable of objectivity, of self-critical analysis, of disinterested study of objective facts. His mental processes are stunted and warped and caged. An "Islamic scholar" is not a scholar at all, and can never be. One can never be Islamic and a scholar at the same time.
The author of this piece suggests that the Islamic scholar who produced this barbaric demand for death to virginity fakers only came to such a wretched opinion because he was "conservative." So the author gets a twofer. First, he takes a rabbit punch against conservatives. Second, he implies, without evidence, that somewhere out there are "liberal" Islamic scholars who would have come to a different Islamically-justified conclusion. Not so.
Wake up. This wretchedness is everyday Islamic thinking--all the way. Wretchedness and perversion are the hallmarks of "Islamic scholarship."
More double standards in Islamoland! ...bet the men aren't required to be virgins upon getting married. Yeah, well women can still fake orgasms, but there isn't much can be done about that.
Plus, not ALL women bleed when they've lost their virginity, and I can attest to that! Sorry for providing TMI, but it's time that these silly myths and double standards be confronted.
From article: The device is said to release liquid imitating blood, allowing a female to feign virginity on her wedding night.
Oh...
I'm sorry, this is above my pay grade...I wouldn't know about such things...Ask Abdullah...Maybe he can explain it...

What is this fool talking about? Everything is a crime and a cardinal sin according to the KKKorant.
dumbledoresarmy, the houris in paradise, according to tradition in the Sunna (which I haven't been able to confirm with a citation yet), are perpetually "re-virginized" by Allah himself after each instance of copulation.
(Also, I responded to your question way down in another thread I think the German Pakistan "white jihadists" thread.)

In addition, many women and girls who are virgins have no hymen, or they have only an incomplete one. I do not recall any bleeding when I had intercourse for the first time, and I don't know whether I had a hymen or not. It's not rare to be born without one, and the hymen can also tear very easily (and imperceptibly) while a girl is engaging in physical activity--sports, for example. I want to cry when I think how many girls and women have had--at best--their lives ruined and, at worst, their lives brutally ended due to such stupidity.
Not that these misconceptions about the hymen and virginity don't persist in non-Islamic societies, of course, but at least here females no longer die or have their lives ruined because of these myths.
Today's Turkish online newspaper, Zaman, has an article about "re-virginization" operations and how popular they are becoming in Turkey.
One expert commented that at least these operations prevent the murder and beating of women who are found wanting in the virginity department. To that, I suppose, we are supposed to express thanks for small mercies.
But my comment to them (which I was surprised to find that Zaman accepted) was that I thought that the prevention of violence and murder would have been up to the law -- not to a medical procedure.
That's true, Kaffirchick! ...and more women coming forward will help dispense of this virgin-myth.
Besides, the men that require that their wife be a virgin when they get married, but do not require the same of themselves, only points to a glaring double standard. This, too, needs to be addressed.
"Professor Bayoumi, a scholar at the prestigious al-Azhar University, said it undermined the moral deterrent of fornication, which he described as a crime and one of the cardinal sins in Islam."
That's funny. So is he saying that part of the climactic experience for men is having an orgasm and THEN throwing the woman under the bus when committing fornication? I would think Muslim men would LOVE this device because then they could do as they wish and leave the old ball-and-chaining up to some other guy.
As to outlawing it, puleeeeeeze. Can you say "Black Market"?
Just one more piece of information, and a salaciously funny one at that, which makes it more likely, not less so, that Islam is headed towards oblivion. Stunning how many times the Islamic world is an unwitting parody of the Islamic world. Case in point here.
hmm could this be why woman are discouraged from sports in the muslim world?? because of the possibility of tearing the hymen frankly IMO muslim men are thinking with just the non brain in there little head not the vacuum between there ears
considering most women in the west are not virgins on there wedding night who care its her husband that she will want not the guy that was there before they met . heck a blind friend of mine whos happily married had had a child befor she got married , but i personally respect her for it as some creep broke into her house raped her and left her with child. being blind she could not identify her attacker her new husband knew this and did not care he married her not her lost hymen
btw the creep tried it again with 2bd blind disabled woman not realizing that most blind people have some vision and is now doing 20 to life muslim male and he did try the sharia law argument that they could not prove rape because there were not 4 male muslim witness i gather the judge did not buy it :) unfortunately my friend is totally blind (glass eyes)
but muslim men and society imo are still putting to much worry into there wives being virgins i doubt the men are so who were the with befor other men?????

Kaffir Chick and Champ, I absolutely agree. I'm sure many brides--*including a huge number of genuine virgins*--have been murdered because they didn't bleed on their wedding nights, or didn't bleed "enough".
I've long been convinced that the main point of the horrendous story of "the Prophet" Muhammed's "marriage" to little Aisha is that at such a tender age, she was was certain to be a virgin.
Such a sick creed.
"Stunning how many times the Islamic world is an unwitting parody of the Islamic world."
L-O-L!!!
Dr. Andrew Bostom has an interesting account from 19th century Egypt which is directly related to the Rifqa Bary case:
Read it all.
A typical virginity-faking device for centuries was to use a small bladder as from sheep intestine, about the size of your thumb, then fill it with some blood and tie it off. It is then inserted into the vagina. When intercourse takes place, the bladder bursts and.... voila! Instant Virginity! The relatives can then uullate loudly and display the bloody sheet out the bedroom window. The village massed outside the wedding chamber can then yell and whoop, and life miserably limps along.
There's also some reports of humane husbands, who knowing the village idiocy will bring a small knife into the wedding bed and cut either himself or the wife in a hidden spot so blood is produced. One has to remember, the most widely trafficked contraband into Ireland during the period of abortion-contraception banishment was condoms. Just as the biggest black-market item into Saudi Arabia is Johnny Walker, the Saudi men "drinking like fish" as the saying goes. People generally try to figure a way around the prohibitions, though they also will defend the same prohibitions to the bitter end. Mad mad world.
My wife wasn't a virgin when we marrried; neither was I. We have enjoyed 34 years of devoted and mutually supportive marriage, and come through several very serious challenges together. We love each other now more than ever.
Please, disciples of the religion of please, get over this virginity thing; It just doesn't matter when one is looking for someone with whom to share his life.
Grow up.
Sorry - religion of peace, not religion of please!

I can't help but be reminded of one of the stories from Embroideries by Marjane Satrapi. One of her aunts just got married but wasn't a virgin. Her grandma told her to take a razor blade and lightly cut herself in the thigh during sex and the blood would convince her husband. Unfortunately, she accidentally cut her husband in the balls.
Embroideries is awesome if you haven't read it. It's about Marjane's female relatives in Iran and the sex stories that they tell.
It is good to see articles like this, thanks to jehadwatch.com
exposing islam, it's so called scholars and their scholarly
pursuits.
But, I would like to point out that most of these "islamic
scholars" end up being americans, australians, canadians or citizens of some european country when they don't get their
way in their islamic countries for what ever reason.
That is why we read about an islamic scholar in australia
declaring that women without hijab or burka are like uncovered
meat, a muslim cab driver not picking up a blind with seeing
dog or somebody with a wine bottle in hand etc.etc.
They may not be scholarly in scholarly sense but are smart
enough to use/abuse the civil laws of civilized countries all
the while aiming to bring these countries down from within.
It is important for the people and the governments of all
civilized countries to realize this and work towards closing
doors of asylum/immigration for these islamic scholars.
Otherwise, their soldiers will be fighting them elsewhere
and they will be plotting against them from within because
I believe that majority muslims from egypt/middle east in
these countries are these "islamic scholars" more or less.
"Egypt: Islamic scholar calls for death penalty over "virginity-faking" device"
"Members of parliament in Egypt have also called for banning import of the item." --from the article.
More evidence against the Islam-apologist line that this notion of "honour" (and hence "honour" killing), has nothing to do with Islam.
It must be really sad when a man's honor lies only between a woman's legs.
