Israel files complaint with UN as rockets fired again from southern Lebanon

Commence "Operation We Might As Well Be Talking To The Wall": "Israel files complaint with UN over rocket fire," by Yitzhak Benhorin for YNetNews, September 11:

WASHINGTON - Israel filed a complaint with the United Nations on Friday evening following the firing of two rockets from southern Lebanon to the Western Galilee, saying the Lebanese government was responsible for the incident.
Israeli Ambassador Prof. Gabriela Shalev sent a letter to the Security Council's relieving president, US Ambassador Susan Rice, and to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, in which she wrote that the rocket fire was another example of the presence of weapons and terror activity south of the Litani River.
She referred to the incident as a blatant violation of Security Council Resolution 1701, and said that Israel views the Lebanese government as fully responsible for the incident, as it has failed to ensure that its territory is free of gunmen who are not official Lebanese or UNIFIL forces.
Earlier Friday, the UN secretary-general condemned the firing of Katyusha rockets from Lebanon into Israel, calling on both sides to exercise maximum restraint.
Ban said in a statement that "the parties must fully adhere to Security Council Resolution 1701 (which ended the Second Lebanon War) and respect the cessation of hostilities agreement."
The UN chief condemned the firing of at least two rockets towards Israel from southern Lebanon, but did not denounce the Israel Defense Forces' artillery retaliation fire toward the city of Tyre.
UN peacekeeping troops known as UNIFIL were "investigating the circumstances of the incident" in cooperation with the Lebanese army, Ban's statement said....

There are ample reasons for which that is none too comforting.

Please,

DO NOT forget the Victory of Jan Sobiesky on September 12, 1683 in Vienne.

You can replace one article of the previous years: easy.

"UN peacekeeping troops known as UNIFIL were "investigating the circumstances of the incident" in cooperation with the Lebanese army, Ban's statement said....

yep...the same UNIFIL forces also threatened to shoot down Israeli Jets flying over Lebanon taking photographs and trying to gather information of illegal weapons shipments and placements....something UNIFIL was supposed to be doing...we know UNIFIL doesn't really want to take those necessary steps to prevent another barrage of Muslim rockets , just like the ones that led to the last Israeli incursion into Lebanon...The Muslims will once again begin attacking Israel with rockets from Lebanon, and Israel will counter attack...and which side will UNIFIL decide to ally itself with?.....probably not the Israelis...

"UN peacekeeping troops known as UNIFIL were "investigating the circumstances of the incident..."

Whew! That's a relief.

When the Iranians need a distraction, likely because of the ongoing nuclear deception, pulling the puppet strings of their extremist jihadi delegates to fire off rockets or mortars at Israel usually works. The JP has alluded a discontented Global Jihad terror group, not happy with Hizbollah inaction, or Lebanese political tensions, or someone just trying to celebrated 9/11. Anything to make the Arctic Sea freighter story go away; the one where Russia said it wasn’t going to sell S-300 SAMs to Iran, but almost did anyway. With an effective anti-aircraft system in place, it will make it even more difficult for Israel to “take care” of Iran’s facilities when they do get the bomb.

You can’t have a massive proliferation of missiles and rockets funded by Iran for jihadists without a few pre-mature releases. They just can’t help themselves.

I'm sure that the UN will restore order just as soon Hezbollah lets them out of their hotel rooms.

The UN couldn't break up a fight in a elementary school playground

I wish the UN would move to France.

I wish the UN would move to France.

I wish the UN would move to France.

Am I just stupid, or is this an act of war?

I am infuriated that Israel gets fired upon and the best response they are allowed to use is file a complaint?!?

Draw a freaken line in the sand - "Any one of you fires on us, it will be seen as a declaration of war and we will unleash the hounds. There will not be a 'proportionate' response, it will be all out war and we will not stop until entire cities are turned into smoking craters. You want a war? You can have one."

Isn't that war? When a sovereign nation attacks another? Isn't it appropriate for the attacked nation to defend itself until the threat is gone? Lebanon attacked Israel in 2004, Israel responded, now the threat has re-emerged.

Someone please correct me because I just don't get this.

The Hezbollah excuse:

"Sorry but Abdul fell asleep and 'accidentally' hit the fire button and frankly we are a bit miffed that only two rockets were fired. We have taken the necessary steps to correct this 'problem' and from now on Abdul's eyelids will be propped open with toothpicks and more rockets wired to his console."

"Israel filed a complaint with the United Nations...."
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Like the UN can actually get anything done that doesn't involve graft and nepotism.
