Tel Aviv, 30 Sept. (AKI) - Israel is set to receive fresh video footage of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit proving he is alive in exchange for the release of 20 female Palestinian prisoners.
Shalit has been held in the Gaza Strip since his abduction in 2006 by Palestinian militants.
The video will be handed over after a decision by Israel's security cabinet to release 20 Palestinian women held in Israeli jails, Israeli daily Haaretz said on Wednesday.
The video will be viewed as definite proof that Shalit is still alive.
A statement by the office of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it expects the deal to be carried out on Friday.
"According to the proposal by mediators, Israel will receive updated and unequivocal proof of Shalit's condition," the statement by the prime minister's office said. It did not specify a date for the release of the female prisoners....
All I hope for in this is that the video graphing Palestinian terrorists (sorry for the redundance) are stupid enough (and they are) to somehow betray information to Israel via the video which leads to Shalit's rescue and the death of 10 or 15 of the hell-bound chumps holding him.
Well, let's look on the bright side. Under previous Israeli administrations, it would not have been 20 women prisoners, but 200 male prisoners, who would have been released. An improvement. And the national need to find out about Shalit is humanly understandable.
Depending on what the women were charged with, 20 Palestinian women for one current Shalit video' is about right...
The problem with this is they will demand another 20 and another 20 for each month they hold Gilad Shalit. The IDF should shell Gaza until they give him up.
I remember when I was in the Old City in Jerusalem and an Arab Muslim woman invited me for a meal at her house. I got a very strange vibe from her, and it wasn't a good one. There is no way in hell I would have gone anywhere with her.

I wonder how much the world would scream if Israel held their prisoners under the same conditions. No visits. No mail. No red cross inspections. Lock them all in the same dark dungeon.

Actually I believe that a truly savage bombing campaign on the level of what they deserve would force their hands. Once it became clear to the despicable thugs in charge that they were going to personally pay for their crap, many of them would change their tune. This has been observed throughout history and most recently with Japan. Of course that ain't going to happen.

What I've suggested a million times over:
Israel should live broadcast the summary execution of one lottery picked Palestinian terrorist prisoner every hour on the hour. This would end when Shalit is returned safe and sound to Israel. If he is not returned after every 10 executions, keep doubling the number of terrorists executed each hour. Repeat and rinse.
At the least, we Israelis will no longer have to cloth, shelter, feed and educate (yep, we stupid Jews provide that, too) these animals.
A similar idea was presented by the Likud's Jewish Leadership faction head, Moshe Feiglin, just the other week.

Good Lord. Wasn't Operation Cast Lead intended--in large part--to find and rescue Gilad Shalit? As soon as Israel faced international condemnation for civilian deaths in Gaza--despite the heroic lengths they went to to avoid these deaths, they hurriedly backed down.
I imagine old videos of Shalit in exchange for a score of prisoners is about what Israel can hope for at this point...
