The only Muslim in Congress defied criticism from Arizona's congressional delegation and spoke Friday at a fundraiser for the local chapter of a national organization with suspected links to Hamas.
U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and U.S. Reps. Trent Franks and John Shadegg, both Arizona Republicans, wrote a letter urging Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., to shun the Arizona chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
"We are deeply concerned that any official support of this organization would undermine the legitimate concerns of federal investigators about CAIR's relationship to foreign terrorist organizations," the letter said.
But Ellison, a Muslim convert, came anyway and was applauded by about 300 people who attended a dinner at the Hilton Phoenix East/ Mesa. Ellison spoke about the fresh start in relations with Islamic countries under President Barack Obama's administration.
"I would never associate myself with anyone even soft on terrorism," he said before the speech. "We all want to fight terror. We all want to live in a safe community."
The fears Kyl, Franks and Shadegg expressed in the letter are "ridiculous," he said.
If there is any truth to the allegations that CAIR supports the Palestinian terrorist organization, Ellison said, there should be arrests and prosecutions....
Jasser and others say CAIR was labeled as a front group for Hamas by an FBI agent during last year's trial and conviction of five former organizers of the Holy Land Foundation, who were found guilty of funneling $12 million to Hamas.
CAIR also was named an "unindicted co-conspirator" in the Holy Land trial.
But Ahmad Daniels, executive director of CAIR's Arizona chapter, denied ties to Hamas or other terrorists.
"In no way, shape or form is CAIR Arizona associated with Hamas," Daniels said. "We're not terrorists. We're freedom-loving Americans like everyone else."
Note that he spoke only about CAIR Arizona. Not CAIR national.
Daniels said CAIR's mission in Arizona is social justice. He also said he is involved in reaching out to other religions through interfaith organizations.
He called CAIR's supposed links to Hamas "an old rumor" and said opponents should either produce evidence or drop it....
The Justice Department named CAIR an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas funding case in 2007. That ain't an "old rumor."
Daniels said CAIR's mission in Arizona is social justice.
If Islamic is part of their orgs name, we know what sort of social justice they are shilling.

People have ALREADY produced evidence that CAIR have known links to terrorists. This is actual EVIDENCE you friggin idiot so how about YOU produce some evidence to refute the evidence brought before you.
But of course you can't and happily go on saying these stupid things which are dripping with taqiyya, and you rely on the ignorance of those who don't know you and your organisation in the belief that you will continue to appear as "moderates."
But more and more people are arming themselves with the truth and know what CAIR are all about: advancing the cause of Islam to take over the US. I can't wait for the day CAIR are disbanded and outlawed in the United States of America. It will be one of the best days in the country's history.

By the way, what are the chances of identifying the ACLU as the terrorist organization that, among other despicable acts, probably fought to have the koran included as a swearing-in piece?
Was there ever any doubt about where Keith E. Hakim's (his Muslim name) loyalties lay? As a devout Muslim he must be first and foremost loyal to Islam and its adherents. If he is as devout as he markets himself to his Muslim supporters then he cannot throw his fellow Muslims from CAIR under the bus.

"Freedom-loving Americans like everyone else" who think that 9.29 and 9.5 are the immutable Word of God? Or who accept the dozens of equally violent Jihad verses strewn throughout the Qur'an, or the hundreds of "authentic" Hadith that impress upon Believers the same message of hostility and permanent hatred for those who do not accept Islam, and the duty of participating directly or indirectly in the Jihad or struggle to remove all obstacles to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam? Those "freedom-loving Americans"?
Ellison is elected and now he will do exactly what he wants.

Tartine, I think you are probably correct. And then you better believe that what happened shortly after 9/11 will happen again. After the Muslims got done celebrating - about 3-5 days later Churches around our country were inundated with phone calls with Muslim clerics/imams wanting to speak to tell us how 'peaceful' islam is. gag. And of course, the majority were unprepared for all of this - the da'wa from the Muslims.
And you better believe it will happen again. Remember all the coy, little muslimettes going on the news and saying such trash as 'we don't believe in sucide nor do we believe in the killing of innocents'? yeah, they forgot to tell us that no non-muslim is considered innocent, and suicide is ok if they blow themselves up while killing non-muslims and in fact it is a 'fast path' to their orgy in the sky!
hypocrits. And sadly so many of our Americans have chosen to stay ignorant of islam or have accepted the brainwashing excuses and still think islam is peaceful. No one puts together that the muslim charities were shut down for a reason, or that all the wars being waged around the world (over 40) involve muslims attacking non-muslims and usually non-muslims defending themselves. It is never caused by aggressive non-muslims, but they are put in the position of defending themselves.
Oh the whining and wailing of the muslims claiming victimhood will be eardeafening too. Our media is bought and paid for by Saudis so they will glom on to their 'suffering' (of hoping not to be caught and booted out of here!), and that they are being persecuted (oops they redefined that word too! - they define it as not being able to fully practice sharia laws and subjugate us and kill/torture us at will without all this hoopla).
It is just sickening that we have to go down this route and our own bash us because we do know what is coming, and what islam is about. They bash us like the muslims do when we know about islam.
