Well, they've chased every other religion out of the country, so that leaves the Shi'ites to beat up on. And you know there's a problem with the vaunted "Islamic tolerance" when Islamic intolerance is so rife even among different Muslims, all the way back to the dispute over Muhammad's successor. Washington (AsiaNews) - Saudi authorities treat Shiite followers of Islam as equal citizens, by stamping out the "systematic discrimination" to which they are subject in the education, justice, work. This is what a report by Human Rights Watch, published yesterday calls for.
In the kingdom of Saud, Shi'ites represent 10-15% of the population, and are always treated as second class citizens. The Islam followed in Saudi Arabia is the puritanical Wahhabi, Islam which regards Shia as a betrayal of Islam and the Shiites as the atheists, no different to members of other religions.
In fact Saudi Arabia the practice of any other religion except fundamentalist Sunni Islam is forbidden. Temples, churches, pagodas are prohibited, as well as public displays of religious objects and private religious gatherings.
In defending the rights of the Shiites, the HRW report, of approximately 35 pages, begins with an incident last February in Medina, where some Shiite pilgrims clashed with the religious police (Muttawa), who monitor the implementation of Wahhabism and social customs. Following these clashes, there were many protests and arrests.
HRW gives voice to the demands of Shiites: equal opportunities in civil service and the army; the possibility of building their mosques and their courts, freedom to publish books. The human rights organization also suggests the possibility of sharing the holy places of Islam, Mecca and Media, among the different forms of Islam.
Among the various forms of discrimination, the report cites in particular those in the education system and in the judiciary, where the Shiite witnesses are often excluded by the courts because of their religion....
So i'm guessing this is ample evidence of what's to come should Islam become a majority. No one else to fight so lets fight amongst ourselves.
I couldn't particularly care less what one Muslim does to another as long as it doesn't involve non-Muslims.

Somehow, I don't think Dinesh D'souza, in all his admiration for Islam's home Saudi Arabia, will be investigating the persecution of Sh'iets, much less condemning it.
Nor, will Dinesh visit to Mecca EVER.
This means that there is SOMEWHERE in the world where mohammedans are prohibited from building mosques and the government stands behind it.
This is not new. The Saudi Sheikh Saleh Al-Lehadan, head of the Supreme Judiciary Council, told Al Watan daily, (March 25, 2008) “After getting rid of the Jews in our Arab land, we must turn to the Christians. They have three options: either they convert to Islam, or leave, or pay Jizia (protection taxes). Further, there is not such a thing as Shiites, Sufis, etc. There are only Sunnis. All these sects must renounce their pagan beliefs and return to Sunna, the right path of Islam.”
It seems to me that, like communism, Islam cannot survive without slaves to actually do the work to allow the system to operate. When the slaves have disappeared a frenzy of cleansing and purges takes place resulting in imprisoning those who fall short of the new requirements. This ensures jails and gulags are kept topped up with the manpower necessary to continue with the next 5-year plan.

I think it's worth mentioning that the use of the term 'puritanical' when referring to Wahabism is, at my diplomatic best, a misnomer.
At worst, it's a slap in the face of the Puritans themselves, Christian believers who, though much maligned throughout the centuries as people who were lost in the miasma of their own brand of religious repression, loved both God and their fellow man, and strove to utilize that as the foundation for both their spiritual and civic life. Far from the prudish, bigoted straw-men (and women) that they continue to be caricatured as, they deserve better than to be grammatically associated in any way, shape, or form with the apostate repugnance that is Islam.
To Wylderirishman: Very true, the Puritans have been the ultimate strawman for the left as far back as my memory takes me. It is horrendous to equate them with these moondemon worshiping fiends.

As regards Yemen, once all the remaining Jews have been safely evacuated from the Predator Pit, the Infidel world should step back and leave the Yemeni Muslims, Shiite and Sunni, to do what comes naturally.
(Of course, if any piracy, shelling, etc were to start coming from the Yemeni side of the Red Sea exits from the Suez, aimed at nonMuslim shipping, gunboat diplomacy would have to be grimly applied).
