Ah, that explains it: OIC initiated the Goldstone Report

The egregiously pro-jihad and anti-Israel Goldstone Report turns out to have been initiated by the Organization of the Islamic Conference -- which explains why it was egregiously pro-jihad and anti-Israel. The OIC, don't forget, is the chief foe of the freedom of speech around the world today, and is making a concerted effort to criminalize any honest discussion of the Islamic motives and goals of the Islamic jihadists. The winners, if they succeed, would only be those same jihadists. As with the Goldstone Report. "'OIC initiated Goldstone inquiry,'" from Al-Jazeera, October 28 (thanks to David Littman):
Established in 1969 to safeguard global Muslim interests, the 57-member Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) is the second largest inter-governmental body after the UN. In its 40-year history, the OIC has worked with the UN and others to settle conflicts and disputes, particularly among its member states.

While the preamble to the OIC's charter holds that Islam "is a strong factor for rapprochement and solidarity between peoples", conflicts continue to rage in many parts of the Muslim world.

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the secretary-general of the OIC, says the organisation has gained prominence in recent years as a trusted mediator in conflicts involving the Muslim world and was the "initiator" of a UN war crimes inquiry in Gaza. Al Jazeera's Firas al-Atraqchi spoke with Ihsanoglu on the sidelines of the seventh annual Doha Conference on Interfaith Dialogue.

Al Jazeera: The UN's Goldstone report has been in the headlines in the past few weeks - not without controversy - and has brought to light the conduct of the Israelis and Hamas during the war on Gaza earlier in the year. Does the OIC see this as a step forward in recognising what transpired during that war and in bringing the plight of the Palestinians to the fore on an international scale?

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu: Let me first start by completing the story of the history of the Goldstone report. What I would like to put on record is that the OIC was the initiator of this process.

On January 3, during the attacks on Gaza, we convened the executive committee of the OIC on a ministerial level. It was decided that the OIC group in Geneva should ask the Human Rights Council to convene and consider the possibility of sending a fact-finding mission to Gaza.

The OIC was instrumental in getting through this resolution and thanks to the good offices of Ms Pilay, the UN high commissioner, that she formed this fact-finding mission headed by Judge Goldstone.

On October 8, I visited Geneva and had a meeting with OIC ambassadors and the high commissioner. We revived the process again and the Goldstone report has been approved by the rights council.

Now as for the prospects of the Goldstone report, I think the first thing to mention here is that the acceptance and approval of the report by the UN's human rights council is itself testimony of the world's public opinion about what happened in Gaza.

This report has certain operative paragraphs which aim to determine who is responsible for the massacres and destruction - illegally and in flagrant violation of humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions on the conduct of war.

I think now the OIC and the international community should work hand-in-hand to implement the proposals made in the Goldstone report.

You said the OIC initiated the process that led to the Goldstone report. Were you surprised then that the Palestinian Authority asked for the council's vote on the report to be delayed?

This was a big surprise for us - an unhappy and sad surprise. I was in Washington DC at the time meeting with the media, think tanks and I was meeting with Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, when news of this broke. We did not expect that, but I am glad that we eventually managed to revive it and get it adopted by the human rights council.

Will the council's adoption of the Goldstone report impact the way Israelis conduct war after hundreds of Palestinian civilians were killed during the war on Gaza?

The Israelis already understood the importance of the impact of this report and that is why you find them leading a very strong campaign to impede the Goldstone report....
Uh, the fact that it is full of lies helps.

It's really sad and depressing how much of a battle Israel has to fight not only on, but more so off, the battlefield. Militarily, these Muslims are as weak as piss but they're able to infiltrate and wreak enormous damage within international organisations, as we've see right here. Moreover, they're being aided by dhimmi politicians and UN bureaucrats who take great pleasure in screwing Israel whilst remaining blind to the fact that they're going to end up as dhimmis one day anyway.

"I think the first thing to mention here is that the acceptance and approval of the report by the UN's human rights council is itself testimony of the world's public opinion about what happened in Gaza."

The UNHRC is full of despots, lying and murdering dictators whose populations suffer enormous cruelty at their whim. How can we take this report seriously if it's being planned and agreed upon by maniacs who will do anything to divert attention away from their moral failings?

I think the OIC should be declared a terrorist organisation, fight them with every means in our disposal (military and non-military) and not dealt with anymore by the free nations of this world.

Sorry for the double posting. Something happened with my computer.

Israel is on the front line against the jihad. Israel will not be stopped by the jihad. They will survive.

Long live Israel!!!!

Fitzgerald: A tribute to Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu is the Turkish "historian of Islamic science" whose outward appearance is so deceptively modern and secular and sweet-reasonable. Then one realizes that that is merely camouflage and that his mental baggage, while not quite as primitive as that of the qaradawis and tantawis, is from the same product line manufactured by Islamic Tourister.

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu was carefully chosen to assume the position of head of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, as the most moderate and presentable (to the Infidels) person, after the bad impression left by Mohamad Mahathir's celebrated rant. He has since then been beavering away at the OIC’s pet project, a transparent attempt at across-the-globe censorship of criticism of Islam. It is an attempt that constitutes an assault on the advanced, Western world, whose citizens are being threatened if they dare to exercise their right of free speech about what Ihsanoglu primly and self-righteously calls a "religion" (as if that conferred some kind of special immunity).

But Islam is an all-encompassing ideology, a Total Belief-System that presumes to regulate every detail of a man's life, and offers a Complete Explanation of the universe. Furthermore, it places great emphasis on inculcating the idea that all of humanity is divided between Muslims and non-Muslims, Believers and Infidels. Muslims are taught that between the two there must exist a state of permanent war (though not always of open warfare), and that all Muslims have a duty, central and not tangential, to participate in some way in the "struggle" or Jihad to remove all obstacles to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam.

Islam is a politics, Islam is a geopolitics. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu knows that, but he doesn't want the world's Infidels to find that out, or to discuss it among themselves, much less to actually criticize it. And so he will do what he can to shut down the exercise, in the Western world (and elsewhere in the non-Muslim lands), of our right to free speech, a right that could not possibly exist for one minute in the lands where Islam dominates, and Muslims rule. But in the advanced West, as one of its achievements, such a right has been won and is now exercised, possibly not quite as impressively, or with as much gratitude, as it might be -- but the important thing is the right, the untrammelled right.

Does Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu want Infidels to read the Qur'an? The Hadith? The Sira? Does he want them to read the histories -- the histories written by Muslims, for god's sake -- about the Muslim conquests, and the subsequent mass killings and subjugation of non-Muslims? What does he want us to find out about Islam? What is in the glossy brochures prepared by assorted Ministries of Islamic Propaganda, or by individual smiling imams (the kind who keep getting picked up later for connections to terrorism, or are revealed later, after they have decamped back to a Muslim land, to have made all kinds of disturbing and even blood-curdling remarks)? Is that it?

Amazing, isn't it, the real outrage, the genuine fury, that we should actually find out what Islam inculcates, and connect it to the recorded behavior of Muslims over the past 1350 years, and to the observable behavior of so many Muslims today, as we open our newspapers or turn on our radios and televisions, and piece together what might well be a separate section of the paper or segment of the broadcast, to be called The Jihad News.

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu was chosen to be the head of the O.I.C. because he was a "moderate" Turkish Muslim and a presumably respectable "historian of science." But he turns out to be not that but rather an historian, and defender, of "Islamic" science, who attempts to tortuously explain away the absence of science in the Islamic world since its brief flourishing thanks to Christians, Jews, and those who, while they were called Muslims, were only a generation or two away from being something else, in a milieu still heavily influenced by non-Muslim elements -- which, when greatly reduced, also reduced the atmosphere in which science could be conducted.

That bizarre figure, Ziauddin Sarkar, was somehow permitted to review, in the pages of the British journal "Nature," the large claims made on behalf of "Ottoman" -- i.e., "Islamic" science -- by Ihsanoglu. Some of Ihsanoglu’s attempts to explain why such things as the clock did not develop in the East but only in the West (you see, since the early clocks were not sufficiently accurate for Muslims to rely on them for knowing when it was time for prayers, they did not think it worth using them, or trying to improve them) raise far more disturbing questions about the Muslim mindset than Dr. Ihsanoglu apparently realized.

Why did an editor at Nature give the job of reviewing Ekheleddin Ihsanoglu's book to the apologist Ziauddin Sarkar? And who at Science allowed to be published his puff-piece about "Islamic science," with every cliche that no historian of mathematics, or science, or technology -- not Giorgio di Santillana, not Crombie, not Charles Singer, not a hundred others -- would have permitted?

What is happening when standards, supposedly so rigorous at "Science" or at "Nature," are so obviously non-existent, and both journals become, rightly, the object of ridicule?

Then there is this, taken from a web-site that follows the OIC:

In March 2006, OIC General Secretary Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu embraced Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal at a press conference at OIC’s headquarters. Ihsanoglu whitewashed: “With its win, Hamas begins a new stage in the development of the Palestinian issue. We assure that Hamas will deal with all national and international requirements in a practical and logical way.”

At a “special session” of the OIC in August of the same year, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for “the elimination of the Zionist regime,” a statement that OIC failed to condemn. Moreover, the OIC has repeatedly backed Iran’s nuclear ambitions. As Ishanoglu said in April, 'All member states of the OIC and I have obviously supported Iran's right to access peaceful nuclear technology,' despite clear indications that the Iranian regime’s uranium-enrichment program is designed chiefly to make nuclear weapons.

And there is the OIC’s explaining away of the 9/11 attacks, which “expressed the frustration, disappointment, and disillusion that are festering deep in the Muslims’ soul towards the aggressions and discriminations committed by the West.”

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu is also the one who, at the time of the death riots and Muslim riots over those anodyne cartoons in a Danish paper, solemnly likened the effect of those cartoons on Muslims as being akin to the effect on Infidels of the mass murders carried out by Muslims on 9/11.

Finally, Ihsanoglu has explained to an American audience how splendid was the system of "protection" that Islam offered Christians and Jews -- "protection" offered by Muslims, for the payment of Jizyah, from those same Muslims. A system that would have impressed Al Capone. He helpfully explained that the “privilege of becoming a protected minority via an act of dhimmiship was given only to the followers of a prophet to whom a sacred book was revealed.”

Christians and Jews, because you are the lucky "followers of a prophet” -- Moses, Jesus (that is, the Muslim Moses, the Muslim Jesus) -- you will enjoy, when Muslim rule comes everywhere, the same "privilege of becoming a protected minority via an act of dhimmiship" that Christians and Jews have enjoyed in the Middle East, and elsewhere in Muslim-ruled lands, for so long.

So what's your problem? Never satisfied? What's the reason Islam is not pleasin' you?

In defining “dhimmiship” as the “privilege of becoming a protected minority,” Dr. Ihsanoglu did his best. But those who are so solicitious of the public image of Islam and of Muslims realize that it should not be left up just to NPR, or the BBC, or Le Monde; we all have to pitch in, and do our bit. It might be better if “dhimmi” were to be jettisoned altogether. The word upsets Infidels, and it does nothing for Muslims, either.

Instead of “dhimmis,” why not call them “Friends With Benefits”?

Islam is not merely a bunch of rituals of individual worship, or an explanation of how the universe came to be. It is, more importantly, also a politics and a geopolitics. A man who can present the dhimmi system, and describe the status of the "Protected People" un-ironically as A Good Thing, an Example of Muslim Benevolence and Tolerance, as Ihsanoglu does, is for all of his outward mien, that tie, that Western suit, inwardly as hopelessly primitive as any daggers-and-dishdasha Saudi.

And the same sort of drivel from this Dr. Insane-glu-glu, who told us (via the dhimmi NY Times) that islam is all warm and fuzzy and just wonderful:

Scroll down halfway. Have a barf bag ready.

If 75% of those in the West understood, really understood, all the truths you just wrote, Hugh, Islam as a problem in the West would disappear within a very short period of time. You see, the truth of things is not the problem. Truth, though often elusive, is almost always there to be found. But most not knowing (or caring about) the truth has cost mankind incalculable woe (e.g. what Marxism or Nazism really intended), just as not knowing the truth about Islam is doing so now and, sadly, will for some time to come. Fine post, Hugh.

OIC Newsletter - Issue 41 (21 Oct 09):

At the 7th Doha Interfaith Dialogue Conference: OIC Secretary General warns against targeting Islamic and Christian sacred sites in Al-Quds

The Secretary General of the OIC Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu emphasized in an address delivered on October 20, 2009 at the 7th Doha Interfaith Dialogue Conference that Islamic civilization stands out compared to other civilizations by regarding Man as its linchpin and the backbone of its value system.

[snip...]

Broaching the Palestinian dossier, Ihsanoglu stated that the OIC was the first to initiate contact with the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva to demand on behalf of the Islamic Group that an international fact-finding investigation be conducted into the blatant violations of human rights in Gaza, the indiscriminate killing of innocent civilians, and the massive destruction of Palestinians' property and vital amenities. He called for solidarity, now that the UN Human Rights Council has endorsed the Goldstone report, in order to achieve the report's objective of holding accountable the perpetrators of these heinous acts.

The Secretary General called for proper respect for Muslim and Christian sacred sites and sanctities in the holy city of Al-Quds. He underscored that the judaization of Al-Quds constitutes a brazen encroachment upon other people's rights. He indicated that Al-Quds permanently hosted Christians and their holy sites for the past 2000 years just as Islamic holy sites have been in the city for over the past 1400 years. He cautioned that Israel currently strives to destroy both Islamic and Christian religious sites and pushes hard for the complete control and judaization of the holy city of Al-Quds.

After the Conference, Secretary General Ihsanoglu met H.H. the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, on 21st October 2009 in the Emir’s office in the Amiri Diwan, Doha. Talks between the Secretary General and H.H. Sheikh Hamad revolved around the current situation and the issues related to the Muslim world as well as the OIC's preparations for the celebration of the 40th anniversary of its creation. The two sides discussed recent developments in Palestine and the Goldstone report.

So very comforting knowing that the second largest inter-governmental organization (after the Useless Nations) can get away publishing such blatant lies. And our (Western) governments believe them!

We are so cooked!

(You can read all this garbage here.)

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu should indeed worry over Christian sites, for their fate, if the Muslim Arabs were ever to reacquire possession or control, would be doubtful. After all, over many centuries, all over the Muslim-dominated lands, Christian churches, like other non-Muslim houses of worship, have crumbled, with the ruling Muslims seldom allowing them to be repaired or, in many cases -- as with the thousands of Hindu temples and temple complexes (their names alone fill up two full volumes edited by Sita Ram Goel) destroyed by Muslim invaders who took control of India, and damaged Indian civilization in so many ways.

Between 1948 and 1967, the Arabs -- the Jordanians -- systematically destroyed, blew up, every synagogue in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. The Jordanian army uprooted ancient Jewish tombstones from the Mount of Olives Cemetery, and used them to line the floors of their army latrines. Jews of course were forbidden from entering the Old City and praying at the Western Wall. Compare that sort of record with the record since 1967, when under Israeli control, Jerusalem is open to worshippers (not rioters) of all faiths, religious freedom is scrupulously observed (and that "freedom" does not include the right to reign down rocks on other, different worshippers below).

What in god's name is Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, who was presumably chosen, as an "historian of science" and a Turk, with suit and tie, even, to present the most "moderate" and soothing of public faces of Islam, doing? What audience of idiots does he think he is addressing? Does he think we, the world's Infidels, know nothing, or have forgotten everything? Does he not realize we are, many of us, learning as fast as we can all about the Qur'an, the Hadith, the Sira, and the reasons, locatable in Islam, for the cruel, aggressive, violent, dangerous behavior of so many Muslims, toward non-Muslims (which we have reason to regret and oppose) and even toward other Muslims (which we have no reason to regret or oppose).

But for the first time in many centuries, ever since 1967, the Old City of Jerusalem is in the hands of those who scrup

"

. . . mostly sunny, with patchy clouds 'til noon. Muslims, mostly cranky, with a 60 percent chance of violence.

Now, sports. . . .

It appears that Hugh's post (at 4:36 PM) was cut short. But we all know what he wanted to conclude was that the Israelis, to this day, permit full access to all holy sites. I'm assuming that the only exception is that Jews can not ascend Mount Moriah. (Please feel free to correct me here.)

But notice that Dr.Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, in all his "We-are-muslims-and-respect-all-religions" speech, notably forgets to mention one particular faith...

There it is, folks, in black and white, in simple English: A declaration of pure hatred and contempt for the Jewish people and the Jewish history of Jerusalem.

livingengine :Muslims, mostly cranky, with a 60 percent chance of violence.

Most amusing, however I think you'll find you're off by at least + 39%.

Dear Robert, Hugh and Wellington, thanks a lot for clarifying. Anything initiated by the OIC can only be biased, no other way. They hate Israel, they want to destroy it and these goody-goody UN officials support and suck up to them. It's nauseating.

Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu seems to be a sort of Turkish Tariq Ramadan, a pseudo-intellectual clad in Western clothes, but only camouflaging his true intentions to establish Islamic domination all over the world.

"And there is the OIC’s explaining away of the 9/11 attacks, which “expressed the frustration, disappointment, and disillusion that are festering deep in the Muslims’ soul towards the aggressions and discriminations committed by the West."

I'm wondering, can cartoons kill people, are they lethal weapons like the hijacked airplanes of 9/11? To the best of my knowledge a cartoon is only a picture on a piece of paper or on the internet. Big deal.

Ihsanoglu is a historian of Islamic science. How can you study the history of something that doesn't exist? But I also heard of a woman who studied "cross-cultural communication". Another sort of rubbish.

I'm very depressed. I've just come back from a talk of an apologist at the university of Stuttgart during the "Islamic week". She's the director of "The institute of media responsibility", something like FAIR in the U.S., but a lot smaller. In fact there is only one person working in that institute, that woman. But she's funded by the taxpayer's money. I'm depressed, because I wanted to fight with her eye to eye, but she's slick and sly, she wouldn't let me. She answered my question, "Yes, here you're right", but I wasn't allowed to add any details, the discussion was blocked. This is so frustrating.

Dear JihadWatchers, wherever you are, Islam is an international problem and we have to address it on an international scale. We have to unite, unity is strength. I'm so fed up with these apologists. Yuck!

In the last day or two I saw the Bill Moyer's program with Judge Goldstone as his guest.

In it Goldstone opined that Hamas stayed away from his interviews and was extremely gracious and accommodating.

Really? If one is talking to a "Palestinian" how would you KNOW that person was not:

a. A member of Hamas.
b. Cooperating with Hamas.
c. Coached by Hamas.
d. Under threat by Hamas.

I suggest that the "Palestinians" were so "nice" because they had the situation WELL in hand and KNEW how to manipulate the old Judge.

Job well done, Hamas.

/sarc off

"Uh, the fact that it is full of lies helps." ...that's because muslims lie.

Hit'em in the funny papers!

It was decided that the OIC group in Geneva should ask the Human Rights Council to convene and consider the possibility of sending a fact-finding mission to Gaza.

Wouldn't a fact-cooking mission be more like it? Just as mahoundians believe they invented the zero, electricity, the automobile, the MRI scanner, the Space Shuttle, the computer chip, the airplane, plus Buraq Hussein's lies about how they basically created the Renaissance; and how they also believe that mahoundianism "protects women's honor" and is supposedly a "perfect religion"; and how they believe Jesus Christ was a prophet for their sick cult, even though Jesus would have condemned pedophilia, livestock-molestation, genocide, slavery and just about everything inherent to mahound's inbred bedouin savage cult. Yeah... A mission to produce a report that "reflects what mahoundian minds believe to be reality" or "what reality is in the mahoundian parallel universe" would truly hit the damn nail on the head in describing what the OIC (the Organization of the Islamic c***suckers) is truly up to.

The best commentary I've seen on Infidel psychology was the South Park episode spoofing the a fictitious TV network's plan to show an image of the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

Terrified, the South Park parent's decided to dig small holes and bury their heads in the sand. As the heads went in, it became apparent that the last parent would have no one to pile the sand around his neck. Head not buried, he would have no choice but to face reality and die.

*** Bukhari Vol 2 Bk 24 Nbr 555 ***

But the quote above brings to mind another important phenomenon in all this: the Moslems are building an opinion programming infrastructure all their own, theirs designed to incite, not to sedate like ours. Agitprop not somnoprop.

For them the project is smaller and simpler. In Dar al-Islam they already owned the schools, the government, the military, the church [sic], the judiciary, the press, you name it.

*** Tabari 1:367 ***

But, somehow despite all the glorious the miracles of Islamic science recently extolled by our born-Moslem Prez Osama in Cairo, the Moslems have been slow to build TV networks.

But despite their worst efforts, now even Moslems can buy and operate a Fictive Reality Machine of their own.

Combine the likes of al-Jazeera and al-Arabya with the Internet (also invented by JudeoChristians) and you begin to understand why all the excitement of late.

The UN have either allowed this to go ahead or have been so lax in their sycophantic dhimmitude that it has happened under their noses.

The UNHRC has become like a caterpillar, being steadily eaten alive from the inside by the parasitic wasps of political Islam. Like our hapless larval arthropod, It has been corrupted to the point of being reduced to an almost ‘zombie’-like state – a malign, inside-out travesty of what it was intended to be.

Meanwhile, the fate of the world’s marginalised, oppressed, hungry and forgotten is in the hands of some of the worlds worst despots; their Jew-baiting, anti-Semitic rhetoric legitimised by an ineffectual and uninterested United Nations.

It is high time it was de-funded and broken up.

With precision accuracy Robert points out each and every one detailing their factual inaccuracy....oh, no, wait a minute, that would be responsible journalism, and we all know that we are not going to find that here...

Peace
Abdullah

The use of White Phosphorous against civilians is a war crime.

There are many documented videos, pictures, and personal witnesses to white phosphorous attacks by the IDF against civlians in Gaza.

Go argue with the truth...

Peace
Abdullah

That's the evil nature of Goldstone and other neoliberal-neocon Jews: they are enemies of both Serbia and Israel.
Glory to Zionism! Down with the NNs!
Ruslan Tokhchukov, EnragedSince1999.

The IDF never committed any war crimes, that's against Jewish law and everything Judaism stands for. We leave the crime section to the Mohammedans, your self-appointed prophet was a mass murderer and a paedophile, an impostor, a conman, a bandit who robbed caravans and so forth. He nearly contravened all of the ten commandments. As you think he was the best man who ever lived, it's only natural that you follow his example and commit as many crimes as possible.

Go argue with the truth...

The IDF launched White Phosophorous munitions against civilian targets in Gaza...this is a War Crime.

You can whine all you want about it...they were caught in the act.

Peace
Abdullah

Do you have proof of that, Abdullah?

Abdullah, is it a war crime when Hamas fires WP, or does that rule only apply to Israel?
