"Way too much overkill for immigration." Yep.
"Kinsman, IL - FBI Raids Halal Slaughterhouse," from CBS Chicago via Vos Iz Neias?, October 20 (thanks to Paul):
Kinsman, IL - Federal agents conducted a raid Sunday afternoon at a goat meat processing plant near Morris, Illinois. The secretive operation was led by the Chicago FBI office, the Feds are being very tight-lipped on what they found and why they were even there.Spokesman Ross Rice confirms agents were at 6260 Kinsman Road, in Kinsman, Illinois. The business is called First World Management. Rice would not say why agents were there but said nobody was taken into custody. [...]
According to sources, the plant provides goat, beef and lamb meat which is prepared in the Halal way in accordance with Muslim custom.
The government workers inside First World Management meat packing plant in Kinsman Monday wouldn't say why they were there or why scores of FBI agents and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were there Sunday.
The trouble is the FBI isn't saying much about what happened at this rural Grundy County plant. A spokesman confirms that the plant, which has a Muslim prayer room, was raided as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. [...]
Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said the agency assisted in the raid, but had no further comment. According to sources, many of the FBI and ICE agents were armed.
Several USDA criminal investigators were on site at the plant on Monday, but they would not comment on the situation.
One man who was talking about the raid was Jim Cavaness. He's a handyman who occasionally works at the plant where goats, sheep and cows are slaughtered. On Sunday, he witnessed the raid and says he was questioned by FBI agents.
Cavaness says the FBI asked him if he had seen anything unusual at the plant. He says he's never seen anything unusual, but, he says, judging by the amount of firepower on the scene, the FBI wasn't just working an immigration case.
"Way too much overkill for immigration," Cavaness said.
Neighbors who saw the raid on Sunday told CBS 2 it was a huge operation, involving more than 100 agents, police officers and even what one believed to be National Guard troops.
Sources say during the raid, the driveway was filled with more than 50 government vehicles. There was a helicopter flying overhead and a command center set up. On top of it were government sharpshooters with rifles at the ready.
George Jackson III is an attorney hired by one of the plant operators, Dr. Syed Hamid. Jackson and Dr. Hamid spoke briefly while on their way to a meeting with the federal prosecutor Monday.
Jackson says it's too early to say why there was such a huge show of force at the plant.
"Obviously, it was more than what was needed here, but why they felt the need to come forward with that much manpower allegedly, it's too early to say," Jackson said....
More information on this developing case can be found here.
Some people on that page were talking about the slaughterhouse's proximity to three nuclear power plants...... scary....
They were offering free coffee to the first 1000 early responders.
Hum, let me guess. The slaughter house owner needs money. Now, he can prosecute the police and get a few million dolars.
Slaughter your own animals if possible.
Disgusting? Sure thing, but there is no possibility of contamination from "others".
Either that or become vegan.
Overkill? It depends on who is scoping who. Could this be a false lead?
It must be less convenient and far more difficult to influence the FBI from the outside. Far-fetched as it may be, this is one way for the ousted Muslim community to scope the FBI for weaknesses.

Jim Cavaness is rather myopic -- and that's being generous.
Styrer, no dots needed. You think that an Obama FBI is going to go after Muslims with this much force for no good reason? Perhaps a jack-booted Bush, but not an Islam-friendly Obama, right, Styrer?
Plenty of dots needed, Hesperado.
Or are you really one who would sacrifice on the genuine, evidenced-based, rational alter of jihad concern a vacuous, empty, unconvincing, un-evidenced piece such as this, simply to endorse what we already know about REAL jihad?
Go down this type of road - and shame on Robert Spencer for proffering this piece, wherein he cannot even bring himself to make a comment endorsing any notion of jihad contained in it, preferring to leave up to our imaginations worst possible scenarios - and you'll be left with an FBI which cannot go about its business, sometimes encountering beardy bastards, without us all jumping up and shouting 'terrorist threat'.
It may well turn out to be so. But I despise the foregone conclusion to which this article seeks to make us jump. There's too much of the REAL thing out there, with evidence galore to support it, to be content with this kind of shite article.
Or perhaps you simply don't need evidence on which to make a judgement. If so, count me out.

They've already raided a perfectly innocent American couple's all natural food company.(Abdullah,be a good slave and post the link will you?).Why not attack this much larger company with an infinitely much larger potential for destruction of infrastructure or people? (local or nation wide?).
Good job FBI and damn the torpedoes!..It's called "getting their goat" or "keeping 'em honest".They can't all be good Americans can they? Or good people? Look at the stats.(worldwide and locally) How many more halal plants like this exist? It's a war against Islamists who don't ascribe to the western way. It's the start of ridding the U.S. of the enemy.Does it create more enemies? Of course! Then all or most or sitting on the fence enemies will be exposed in their defence of this non-travesty.
Those poor goats! Is it time for a "Save the Goats" foundation?
Yes, twas a goat that et of a now long digested (K)oranic verse, never to be published nor recited nor remembered..Save the Goats!
It's Kosher and pork chops and bacon and eggs for me..Goats are smart and cute and beautiful. Leave the goats alone muslims..Go to McDonald's instead..beers after that.
Expect mahoundians to start playing the victim card over this... Something that they wouldn't have to do if they all chose to voluntarily relocate to opensewerstan/mahoundistan, where the "law" would be on their side not only in situations like this, but also when they murdered infidels, molested boys and girls under the age of 10, set churches and (one of the few left in their sharia paradises) synagogues on fire, raped un-tent-ed women, etc.
". . . shame on Robert Spencer for proffering this piece" -- Styrer.
I knew it was only a matter of time.
Styrer,
"Or perhaps you simply don't need evidence on which to make a judgement. If so, count me out."
So far, you seem to be the only one to make a judgement.
I think most of us are content to await further developments.
Some people believe that if ever a nuclear thing goes off, it wont come as a surprise after seeing how the big twin towers went down in a way that can only be explained by an inner controlled explosion.
Then most will blame others, but some will blame still anothers.
"There's too much confussion in here,
i can get no relief
said the joker to the thief
so let's not talk falsely now
the hour is getting late"
LOL with "all not Kosher in Halal" line.
I think that went over most people's heads Mr. Spencer.
Re: Styrer - Forensic Linguistic Analysis STRONGLY SUGGESTS that person has posted before under another "name."
Wed. is a big day for Mr.Geert Wilders at Columbia.
Not usually one to offer unsolicited advice, but what better way to start a speech than by saying:
I think slavery is wonderful.
I think sex slavery is even better.
I think having 4 wives and many more sex slaves is only natural.
I think that wives beating and sex slaves beating is great.
I think extorting others because they believe differently is awesome.
I think killing others because they leave a religion is spectacular.
I think keeping 80% of stolen property is so sweet.
I think that killing gays will keep 'those' people in the closet.
I think that all major felonies in Western law should be decriminalized, and encouraged.
I think that non-felonies such as drinking alcohol, showing skin, walking alone, talking with non-family members, etc. should result in severe corporal, possibly capital punishment.
Throw the ball in their court Mr. Wilders. Don't defend your position, have others defend theirs.

P.S. I hear they're hiring in Dubai..
Styrer has a point.
With Obama in the White House we shouldn't jump to conclusions.
Maybe an infidel worker accidentally touched a Qur'an.
Styrer, I'll bet you a case of whiskey that this case is exactly what we think it is. Good whiskey. Care to take that bet?
The FBI doesn't move out for frivolous reason, and there are many, many instances of various bakeries and whatnot that end up being Jihad-fronts.
Shit, I thought we'd have more time than this. But the disease has metastasized already.

How nice to see you again.
'Only a matter of time' for what?

As was pointed out to me on a different thread, this is Jihad Watch, and so watching out for jihad really is the name of the game. Check out other comments on this thread whose posters assume as much and do their best to portray this event as a sinister jihad conspiracy. The best I read, well before I even dared to risk upsetting some of you hyper-sensitive lot by challenging the worth of this article, is:
'It must be less convenient and far more difficult to influence the FBI from the outside. Far-fetched as it may be, this is one way for the ousted Muslim community to scope the FBI for weaknesses.'
And yet you say 'So far, you seem to be the only one to make a judgement.'
What utter rot.
Styrer
Styrer, as I said, I'm willing to wager a crate of whiskey on this. Anyway, just to put the rest of this in context, the Watchers tend, for very obvious reasons, not to give Muslims much benefit of the doubt in situations like this.

In my opinion there was a false report submitted to FBI in order to create the raid.
This will now result in a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against the government by the plant operators with CAIR at their side. They need more money and the need to suck the government dry.
OK, folks, I admit, this video SCREAMS jihad, especially with that too-clever-for-his-own-boots lawyer the ginger-bearded one uses when he's only 6 employees.
But am I so wrong to want to see some damned EVIDENCE before we find the hirsute ones guilty?
I really didn't think my 'wait-and-see' point would be so controversial.
The ever prescient and erudite Fanusi points out that many such 'businesses' are precisely the cover-fronts for Muslim terrorism. Perhaps I'm being less than perspicacious on this one (and no, I'm not trying to get out of paying for the case of JW Black...!)
Styrer
Styrer,
Is this really your best example of us rushing to judgement:-
'Miira' - ''It must be less convenient and far more difficult to influence the FBI from the outside. Far-fetched as it may be, this is one way for the ousted Muslim community to scope the FBI for weaknesses.'
To admit that your speculative theory is far-fetched is the opposite of jumping to a conclusion, non?
Styrer, I'll collect that case from you one of these days.
Anyway, as I keep saying, feelings are still raw in the aftermath of the Johnson Heresy.
When the Feds arrested 390 people at another
slaughterhouse last year, it was "the largest raid of its kind in U.S. history." And it was only 68 miles from the Duane Arnold nuclear power plant! Scary!

I think you'd better gouge me now for that booze, because I'm beginning to get the picture.
I'll admit that I've been proud so far in my life to try to stick to, as far as I can - I'm just a mammal, after all - notions of 'do this' and then 'get punished', with no prior bias. I suspect this is a natural impulse, actually. But the jihad works in such despicable ways that it COMPELS us to become suspicious and questioning of almost everything which involves Muslims. Just the two cases of this slaughterhouse business and the 6 imams on a jet on another thread make the point. In each case, we see that Muslims are quite able to take what we consider as innocuous products or services WE'VE made or provide, designed to give comfort and assistance to fellow well-balanced humans, and turn them AGAINST us in furtherance of their murderous, life-destroying ways.
The trick is therefore to assume in every case where Muslims are involved that they are up to no fucking good. This could be seen easily as running counter to liberal, good-intentioned reasoning and values, until one realises that these BEARDED BASTARDS have forced this on us precisely because of the massive amounts of evidence they've previously granted us by way of their despicable, life-hating religious tenets. The further realisation that to ignore the threat would be to endanger precisely those values we wish to protect - freedom, equality, respect for others et. al. - becomes very, very clear.
At least it's now clear to me. I've only been properly participating on this site for a few days. But I'm a fairly quick study.

Is Dr. Hamid, appearing at the end of the video, wearing a fake beard?
Is Dr. Hamid, appearing at the end of the video, wearing a fake beard?
First World Management?
Interesting name, isn't it?
Maybe they just didn't want anyone to get ill and annoy.
Only a matter of time before Styrer starts blaming Robert Spencer for the news.
I noticed that in the space of 24 hrs you have already bet two people a case of whiskey, and then begun to modify your opinion about this story.
This should be an indication to you that you are not grounded.
Please use this website. Read the archived articles by Hugh Fitzgerald, Raymond Ibrahim, and Robert Spencer.
Give it some time. Even Robert Spencer was not prepared for the reaction to his first book. He expected there to be a discussion, and instead found himself in a war zone.
Why don't you give it some more time before scolding, and blaming people who are simply observing the world.
I think most of us are content to await further developments.
I'm not content to await, cuz with numbing regularity the further developments are always occludized, self-censorized, politicized, ostracized, homogenized, or in some perverted way Islamicized.

Let us not forget that the FBI promoted a Moslem to its Arabian Desk for the felony crime of obstructing justice in refusing to wear a wire when he had a bump with the infamous fake professor Jihad terror war fundre Sami al-Arian, who was flown back to Dar al-Islam on a first class ticket paid for by the U.S. taxpayer, kinda like the Yemeni terrorists release from Gitmo pictured happily eating ice cream cones when they descended from their ocean front cabin arranged for courtesy of Prez Osama.

The FBI doesn't move out for frivolous reason, and there are many, many instances of various bakeries and whatnot that end up being Jihad-fronts.
Let us not forget that a few yrs ago the FBI proudly launched an Affirmative Action recruiting program (aka racial discrimination) for new-hire special agents.
That's frivolous.
*** Bukhari Vol 4 Bk 52 Nbr 220 ***
Also let us not forget the heroic John O'Neil, he of the infamy of FBI Director Louis Freeh and his squalid boss the sag-titted DOJ Direcgtor Janet Reno or her boss the sag-titted Prez Bill Clinton.
Let us not forget these people or the FBI's squalid track record on Moslems.
I am now convinced that Robert Mueller is an anti-Semite.
I have followed his activities over the years, and I
see no policies at the FBI that have lent themselves to
pro-Israeli activities or collaborative efforts with
the Israeli Police. If one follows the trajectory of
Mueller's pro-Islamic policies in hiring as many Muslims as possible, in the Language Program which was rife with
Pakistani and Iranian spies, 'sensitivy-training sessions', dinner parties with CAIR, and profuse public statements at Senate sessions or in front of a mike appeasing Muslim interests, I see a continuous pattern of defense of Islam ("Most of them really are moderate"), promoting bilateral relations with Islam, and ethnically-correct and Islamically-correct actions by the FBI in their outreach to local Muslim-American communities since Mueller was in charge. Freeh was only slightly better in that he was not as PC (or should I say MC-Muslimally-Correct) as Mueller
though still not tough enough on Islam and Jihadi threats.
I contrast this with the objective assessments of Islam
and anti-American threats displayed by Clinton-appointed
(yes, Clinton did appoint some good cabinet people !)
former CIA head, Jim Woolsey, who has not hesitated from beginning to end to call a spade a spade and publically and bravely voice strongly pro-Israel and anti-Islamic views to his eternal credit. Kudos to Woolsey for telling it like it
is and standing up for America's best interests. He
is atypical for any FBI or CIA Head in being overtly sensitive to Israel's concerns and calling Islam a threat without equivocation or disingenuousness (like Mueller,
like General Jones, like Bob Gates and some other
Obama flunkies). This is why Woolsey was dumped. The
Arabists and Dhimmies at the State Department and CIA
didn't like his blunt didactic critical assessments
of Islam and his sympathies for Israel, so he left
when he saw the bureaucratic PC-entrenched semi-academic
arrogance among CIA analysts like Joe Wilson, Michael Scheuer and Flynt Leverett who despise Israel intensely.
On this point Clinton was RIGHT and Bush wrong. Right for
appointing Woolsey to head CIA (though wrong not to refuse his resignation letter) and Bush wrong for keeping
Mueller on as FBI head. Unfortunately, Reno was a horrible
disaster so Clinton was 1/2. John O'Neill was a good man
but in fairness to Freeh, he did often go off team and
self-promote and exaggerate his knowledge of the pre-9/11
terrorists in Middle-East and their activities in Kuala Lumpur at that fateful hotel meeting where the final 9/11 plan was developed.
What I find strange is that the FBI went in with all that firepower, and no arrests were made. If the FBI goes in that way, wouldn't they have had the place under intense surveillance for a while? Surely they were expecting something particular to be going on there when they arrived?
But then it was not going on as expected, so there were no arrests? Does that mean that the people in the plant were tipped off?
When you have so many agents involved, isn't a tip off highly possible, given the presence of Muslim-background FBI agents, some percentage of whom are not loyal to the FBI? Presumably a raid like this would have some Muslim agents involved, for reasons of "sensitivity" and effective communication.
Styrer,
It is my contention that we need to treat Muslims with prejudice, because the risks are too high, given:
1) their singular degree of fanaticism,
2) the nature of that fanaticism,
3) the singular capability of Muslims to network throughout a global sociocultural grapevine,
4) the global incidence of Muslim terrorists;
5) taqiyya,
6) our inability to sufficiently distinguish the fanatics who are trying to put their fanaticism into action, and
7) the reasonable suspicion that the fanatics are assiduously trying to acquire and deploy WMDs of one flavor or another.
This list represents only some of the more important reasons that I can think of. I'm sure there are more. The time has past to give Muslims the benefit of the doubt we give to fellow non-Muslims: innocent until proven guilty. Quite the reverse is called for, if we want to optimally protect ourselves into the coming decades from horrific casulaties.
But why do I have to tell you all this? Can't you figure this out on your own?
As for the article dave adduced above: It shows that the FBI raided a kosher slaughterhouse in Iowa for the crime of "llegal narcotics production".
Interesting that the FBI told the press why they were making that raid, but they have kept mum about this one.
When we are contrasting kosher (or agnostic) slaughterhouses with Muslim slaughterhouses, and the respective crimes they might be committing, it would be something like "llegal narcotics production" in the former, but a terrorist cell perhaps cooking up an WMD in the latter. When Muslims are involved, we have to assume the latter, at the very least. Better to just deport all Muslims.
Hesperado,
There is of course no reason to expect crimes in a kosher slaughterhouse more than in any other kind of slaughterhouse. It sounded a bit as if you thought one can expect illegal narcotics activities particularly in kosher slaughterhouses, though I realize you didn't mean that.
As you well know, there are particular reasons to be concerned about Muslim, halal establishments -- namely that the latter are linked with a billion plus population worldwide that subscribes to a religion whose founder created a warlike theocracy with designs on the whole globe.
Muhammad said, "Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him."
Hesperado,
Reading your post just above, I have one question:
Were you sober when you wrote that?
If not, then I understand perfectly. If you were then what the hell were you thinking?
Do you really think that if the FBI found something they wouldn't announce it? Do you think that the FBI is shy about charging people with terrorism?
Maybe, just maybe, they didn't arrest anyone because no one was doing anything illegal. And maybe, just maybe, they didn't give any details because they didn't want to look like idiots.
