A MAN harassed by anti-war mail after his son was killed in Afghanistan says immigrants who can't adapt to Australian life and values should live elsewhere.Private Gregory Michael Sher, 30, was killed in a rocket attack in Oruzgan Province, in southern Afghanistan, in January.
He was the eighth Australian Defence Force soldier to be killed in Afghanistan since 2002, but the first to die as a result of indirect fire.
Mr Sher's father Felix received a phone call and letters, allegedly from self-styled Muslim cleric Sheikh Haron, just before his son's funeral.
"I feel bad that you have lost your son but I don't feel bad that a murderer of innocent civilians has lost his life," a line in one of the letters reportedly said.
Other Australian families of men killed in Afghanistan have allegedly received similar letters in the past two years.
On Tuesday Sheikh Haron was charged with seven counts of "using a postal service or similar service to menace, harass, or cause offence". He was granted bail to appear in court on November 10. [...]
Asked if he had something to say to Sheikh Haron, Mr Sher called on immigrants whose values were not in line with the general community to live elsewhere.
"What I would like to say (is) that when people immigrate to Australia, when they actually do so with the intention of integrating with the general community and living in peace and harmony, rather than confronting it, and causing tension and conflict, and irrespective of what one's religious beliefs are, one can still live happily with the community but not dissolve," he said.
"If people don't like what's happening in Australia, live elsewhere."

But it gets worse--Sheikh Haron had a similar hate-letter *hand-delivered* to Breeanna Tills, the widow of dead soldier Brett Tills--*at the poor man's funeral*.
He wants to see Australia's anti-terrorism laws amended to allow to "encourage people to commit *fair violence*". [emphasis mine, GI]
Sheikh Haron also said, "If God's prophet ["Prophet Muhammed"] would live in Australia he would be charged by Australian Federal police for terrorism."
Well, yes--and what does that tell you about the true nature of Islam?
The Sher family are Jewish. Mr Haron sent them extra-specially-nasty hate letters.

Surely there should be a law which can have more effect than one about using the postal system to harrass or whatever. He just keeps on doing it. How much do we have to take from these bas...ds? The "sheikh" should have been deported after the first one.(I DREAM of Special Punishments for Islamic Offences. My roommate and I were just talking tonight about which NATO participants were taking care of which province in the sandbox (that would be here in Wilmington while we do our pre-deployment training). This all came from a segway about the latest Pakistani (soon to be failed) offensive (Paks get their asses handed to them in the name of Jihad season 4) and our discussion of the terrain. The further north and east you go, the less any human would want to live in such inhospitable land, but yet they do. Unlike the sovereignty (government and services) Canada and Russia exercises in the northern hemisphere, because they can, these lawless lands will continue to fall into the hands of islamic extremists because they’re the only ones desperate enough to climb into these areas and enforce a law at the barrel end of a gun.
Anyway, I was trying to explain to him that the OZ troops were north of us. And now, to read this story about Private Greg Sher being taken out by the rocket roulette is a sad and disheartening tale. For the most part, the rockets being fired are having their warheads removed to be used as IEDs. Our pre-deployment narratives have been of 99% rockets being fired without an explosive, explicitly for harassment. Private Sher really got the golden BB. I will think of him this coming Nov 11th as our small group of Canadian Air Force personnel do our own ceremony at 11:11 AM, because the Americans don’t do this here in Newark, DE, or anywhere else that I know of in the States.
That part of the planet really is the Wild-Wild West/East (whatever). Ain’t no way in hell a semblance of democracy will exist in the provinces of Ass-crack-istan unless a multi-generational game of occupational assistance is played out by the developed world. And even that in itself will not be enough, unless the violence primer in the name of islam is reformed or squelched in the interim over the next 100 years. But no western government has that kind of foresight or stomach for that kind of victory…and why would they? The short term argument of denying a base for Benny Lad’s “I’ll-Kill-Ya” organization under the protective umbrella of the Talibanditos is getting old fast.
There is only one thing this kind of fascist ideology understands and that is strength. If you watch the rhetorical tempo of the “call to arms” wankers of Dar al-Islam, they’re sore they don’t have the Bomb, and not because they need to have it for détente, but because they will use it. If ever there was a call to a pre-emptive call to arms in the “everything-has-gone-to-hell-and-a-hand-basket-istan,” current events in the last 30 years have pretty well summed it up. However, the lands of Islam will continue to be free of radioactive fall out until they cast the first thermonuclear detonation (unless, of course they do it to themselves, which is highly more probable given their lack of respect for safety protocols).

Greg Sher won’t get his fourth or even his second chance. And as long as the relativistic attitude exists towards Islam in our communities, ass hats like Sheikh Haron will continue to be allowed to have all the chances they can to further the evil that is islam.

Unfortunately there are many here in Australia who think like that dirty piece of filth. The ones who aren't so openly vocal and vile prefer to go inside there houses and celebrate.
I think its about time that Australians petition Canberra to change the laws in regards to this disgusting act of harassing relatives of dead soldiers.

DDA whether Pvt Sher was a Jew or not he was Australian and wore an Australian soldiers uniform, no distinction is made to ethnicity when you're a serving Digger. All Australian soldiers that are killed in action are just that Australians.

I hope that this drongo has a jury trial and the the jury is made up of the families that he sent letters to or thier mates. He has no respect at all for the sacrifice that Private Greg Sher and the rest of our fallen Diggers have given.
Soon as he is sentenced put him on a plane to whatever hellhole he came from and send him back. He is persona non grata and not welcome here.
