Challenging them on Al-Qaeda, but not on women's rights
But of course the Pakistani authorities say they're doing all they can. As they did all through the years in which they were funneling American anti-terror money to the jihadists they were supposed to be fighting. "Clinton Challenges Pakistanis on Al Qaeda," by Mark Landler in the New York Times, October 29 (thanks to all who sent this in):
LAHORE, Pakistan -- Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, on a visit meant to improve relations with Pakistan, strongly suggested Thursday that some Pakistani officials bore responsibility for allowing terrorists from Al Qaeda to operate from safe havens along this country's frontier."I find it hard to believe that nobody in your government knows where they are, and couldn't get to them if they really wanted to," she said to a group of Pakistani journalists on her second day here. "Maybe that's the case; maybe they're not gettable. I don't know."
It is extremely rare for an official of Mrs. Clinton's rank to say publicly what American politicians and intelligence officials have said in more guarded ways for years. The remarks upset her hosts, who have seen hundreds of soldiers and civilians killed as Pakistan has taken on a widening campaign against militant groups that have threatened the country from its tribal areas.
But her skeptical comments also gave voice to the longtime frustration of American officials with what they see as the Pakistani government's lack of resolve in rooting out not only Al Qaeda, but also the Taliban leadership based in Quetta, and a host of militant groups that use the border region to stage attacks on American and NATO forces in Afghanistan....
Mrs. Clinton's comments were prominently played on Pakistani news channels, and government officials rejected her assertion.
"If we knew where Al Qaeda's leaders were, or if we had meaningful intelligence on their whereabouts shared with us, we would act against them," said a senior official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on this issue....
Despite heightened security concerns, Mrs. Clinton stuck to her schedule, traveling to Lahore to meet opposition leaders and tour the majestic Badshahi Mosque, as thousands of police officers lined the route of her motorcade, shutting down the center of this city of 10 million....
I'd really love to think Hilary has had a quantam leap of consciousness, and is ready to lead some kind of charge against islamo-madness, but master politicians are ham actors whose sole motivation for saying or doing anything is to broaden their potential voter bases. If there were poll numbers indicating US political mood was swinging to the right in a big way, Hill would become Maggie Thatcher in a heartbeat (and probably play the role pretty convincingly). In fact islam and American politicians have that very thing in common: self-preservation trumps all other considerations, including such pittances as objective truth or principle.
"..maybe they are not gettable..I don't know..."
Clinton on AQ and Paki military
Yes..it is firm and stern.. no nonsense language like this that will let the pakis know we mean mean business....sheesh
Isn't she cute with the headscarf...At least she's color coordinated...Did they check her for a bra and socks?
Color coordinated or not......WHAT A TOOL!!
It's purely political. Obama is looking weak on Muslim terror right now due to his predictable and unavoidable waffling on Afghanistan and lack of love of America and her interests.
She says things like that to set herself up for political advantage. I'm not going to say "run for President", because she's said she won't, but of course we never know what that means.
Dhimmi. I wouldn't wear a headscarf if I were not Muslim. What are they going to do for me? When are they going to stand up for freedom????
Lose the veil, Mrs. C. It just makes it worse.
Plus, it tells everybody you are a dhimmi and a tool for the jihad.

Trust me, I'm no fan of HRC, and I too am cynical about her motives for making this statement. Nonetheless, I'm glad somebody said the obvious: People in Pakistan (ie somebody in there intelligence service) knows where al Qaeda and Bin Laden are. McFly!!
Isn't she lovely? Someone should tell HRC she doesn't look good in blue, even if it is the same color as burqas favored by the Taliban.
And how did she and her husband lead by example wheb it comes to dealing with terrorists? By pressuring Israel to deal with terrorist Arafat, while concealing Arafat's responsibility for the murder of the American ambassador and his deputy in Khartoum in 1973. By legitimizing terrorist Arafat and welcoming him in the White House as a head of state, with highest honors. By pushing the bloody "peace process" on Israel. By helping the rabidly racist, sadistic, genocidal Kosovar Albanian KLA terrorists to kidnap, rape, torture, mutilate and murder Serb civilians. Finally, by going to war on Serbia on those terrorists' side, murdering Serb Christians and brutally eradicating Christianity from Kosovo to please the Muslims. This is how they used the tremendous resources and weaponry of the mightiest military power in history that was at their fingertips.

She must have been at the end of her tether to blurt out something that realistic, minimal though it was.
But when oh when are our lady politicos going to get it that it is shameful to kowtow to the mohammedan scarf-on-the-head rules in front of the news cameras ?!?!?!?!
They're supposed to be women for mercy's sake! Are they COMPLETELY devoid of feminine insight?
Do they actually not get it that it's much like dating the captain of the football team and going around wearing the other team's jacket?
Are they COMPLETELY oblivious to the fact that half the people they allegedly represent are men?
These are supposed to be clever politicians. Do they think that their gestures of "respect" to the other side will be received as anything but a gesture of weakness and INFIDELITY?
Are they COMPLETELY oblivious to what the mohammedans think of feminine infideliity?
How did we allow such pitiable mental inferiorities to rise to the top of our society?

I cant' wait for Mrs. Clinton's dramatic account during her next presidential campaign of how she came under gunfire and had to run for her life in Lahore. Now she'll really be able to boast about her military experience and her coolness under fire. Beats visiting a Marine recruitment office in Arkansas.
Why should anyone in Pakistan try to help to end the situation? As long as it goes on, two excellent outcomes continue: 1)They get the jizya, more all the time, and
2) Refugees and other migrants are accepted into the sympathetic West, and thereby spread Islam.
"...Did they check her for a bra and socks?"
Whoever gets that assignment should draw hazzard pay!!!
The scarf renders any authority null and void. You're an American. For heavensake dress like one!
The best H Clinton quote ever came in the exchange with the Pakistani business executives.
She was unhappy with the low rate of tax collections in Pakistan and and rampant tax evasion which undermines the country's efforts to address poverty.
Quote:
"At the risk of sounding undiplomatic, Pakistan has to have internal investment in your public services and your business opportunities. The US government taxes everything that moves and everything that doesn't (move), and that is not what we see in Pakistan."
She is doing a great job, recommending tax hikes to Pakistani Business executives, I am sure that they said, Gee that is a good idea why didnt we think of that already. I am sure that they listened and made careful consideration of her suggestion. Yeah right!
it is almost as good as Arnold Schwarzenegger's campaign rant about how the Kalifornian wakes up and is taxed, buys coffee and is taxed, buys gas and is taxed.etc etc..tax tax tax. And then he goes into office and authors the largest tax increase in the history of the state. Yeah right!
Time to get out the tar and feathers and run these bozos out of town on a rail. Yeah Right!
I wonder if she would wear such an outfit to a state visit to a Muslim country if she had become President.
Hilary, why don't you just shut up, stop complaining and give them some more Jizya - I am sure the American taxpayer would not mind.
maybe someone should tell Hillary that the Pakistani government is on the same team as Osama....
Do they let people with balls wear head scarves? :)
Hillary is right that the Pakistani govt. knows where al-Qaida is. Does she also realize that pretty soon Osama bin Ladin may be running it? Why didn't the U.S. invade Pakistan in 2003 instead of Iraq? We might have cornered him by now. Now it's almost too late, yet we can't just let Osama have it, so what's the choice? So far no Muslims have used nukes to advance the territory of Sharia. So far.
