Alexandria, Egypt (AINA) -- At dawn on Saturday, October 3, 2009, Egyptian State Security forces arrested a group of Christian Copts in different parts of the city in Alexandria, after severely assaulting them in front of their neighbors. Their wives were also arrested, but because of intense objection protests by neighbors at the way they were handled and of the screams of their terrified children, they were released. The men who were arrested are relatives of Rafaat Girges Habib, a man who helped a Coptic father free his kidnapped daughter from her Muslim husband's home. The arrests continued until Habib turned himself in to the police.
Egypt4Christ, based in Alexandria, reported that what started this incident was a telephone call on September 30 from Myrna, the only daughter of Coptic accountant Gamal Labib Hanna, in which she begged him to come and save her from her Muslim husband, Mohamad Hefnawy.
Myrna was abducted 10 months ago, forced to convert to Islam and married by a 'customary marriage contract' by Osama Hefnawy to his son Mohammad. Being 19 years old at the time, Myrna was under-age for a girl to be married. According to Islamic Sharia a woman cannot get married before she reaches the age of 21 years; she can only get married before through a mandate from her father or uncles alone. Those requirements can be waived for the benefit of a non-relative only through a court ruling, which was not obtained in Myrna's case.
On their way to free his daughter, the father, together with his brother and brother-in-law, passed by a cafe near St. George's Church, Sidi Bishr, where Rafaat Girges Habib, a plumber who has done jobs in the father's home, volunteered to accompany them to bring Myrna back.
As they went to the apartment where Myrna was held, they were met by Osama Hefnawy, father of Mohamed and five other Muslims, who threatened them. A struggle ensued, and Myrna left with her father. She was taken away to an establishment dealing with abduction cases like hers, especially that it was found out that she was six months pregnant.
Osama Hefnawy immediately filed a report with the police and the State Security Headquarters in Al-Farana, Alexndri downtown. Myrna's paternal uncles were arrested and charged with abduction, together with her father. Myrna's family apartment was broken into and the shop of Rafaat Girges Habib was completely demolished by the police....

The security forces are in drastic need of 'sensitivity training'...Rasulullahhaha Obama needs to appoint a 'sensitivity czar' and send him/her to Egypt to conduct sensitivity groups with security forces. It's difficult to get Egyptian Mahoundian security guys to be 'sensitive' to kufr...especially Copt kufr...Sensitivity to kufr goes against the very fiber and fabric of Allah...Mahoundians are not supposed to be 'sensitive' towards kufrs...This Islamic resistance is why a 'sensitivity czar' is necessary...Well that and more money...serious payoffs have a tendency to create sensitivity...A 'sensitivity czar' bearing a bag of cash is welcome anywhere one or more Mahoundians congregate...I would apply for the job, but I'm not quite sensitive enough...but for the right money, I could fake it...

There is no justice in Islam when it comes to non-Muslims. Muslims are happy to see every sort of injustice against the kuffar because it underscores Islam's power. According to a recent Memri clip, which I can't find now, the Egyptian state is so helplessly weak and pathetic that without foreign aid they would starve.
And yet these tales of the oppression of the Coptic population continue to appear with depressing regularity. Reading these accounts is to stare into the face of evil. All one can feel is impotent fury and frustration. One would expect the regular media to cover these stories and Western governments to support the victims of these injustices, but do they?
Hell no, and yet more and more of our taxes are going to places like Egypt and Pakistan. This makes us taxpayers enablers and accomplices of evil, unless we somehow make enough noise to change things.

How it plays in Egypt:
Local police uncovered a kidnapping syndicate on Friday. A gang of kidnappers were arrested on Saturday. Local residents praise quick police action.
Local resident Malmoud Al-Fulafit stated that after news of the kidnapping had spread through his neighborhood, local women and girls were so afraid that they were covering their heads and their families would not allow them out in the street without an adult male relative. "It was terrible, the women were afraid to come outside. I never thought a kidnapping gang would be operating here, it was such a good neighborhood."
Details are just coming in, that the kidnapping was the result of a domestic dispute. To avoid her duties as a wife and to mock the prophet, Myrna Hefnawy incited her father and other male relatives through lies and misstatements, to kidnap and spirit her away from her husband and home. Gamal Labib Hanna, her father, and several other male relatives have hidden Myrna with the help of a criminal kidnapping cell. Now that Myrna's relatives are under arrest, police are interrogating the men in order to get information that will result in the arrest and imprisonment of the criminal kidnapping organized crime operation.
Also, in the lighter side of the news. Local police participated in an urban renewal operation. A local plumbing store was recently slated for demolition. Local police volunteered to Jimmy Carter's Habitat for Humanity, and tore down the shop in record time.

You ask if we see legalized slave trading in this story. Personally I think it best not to read too much into a story without evidence. That may be a possibility, but I think kidnapping and forced conversion is quite enough to be going on with.
And we should bear in mind that nothing is yet confirmed. Occasionally scare stories turn up only to get discredited.
The story already spins two ways, as shown by grim reaper, now how can we find where the truth lies?
Welcome, wonderin1: I "wonder" how you got here? From another site? Were you a "convert" to reality already or did Jihad Watch persuade you all on its own? May you "convert" others also: not easy though, and you have to be prepared to be treated with derision and lose friends; but the reward is that you gain better friends. The people who comment on this site have taught me so much, I am very grateful to have "met" them (and actually, through commenters here I have met and joined forces with local people.)
The anti-jihad movement is slow, restrained by democracy and decency and its tiny-minority status. But we have one major principle in common which drives us: it is imperative that we don't give up. Younger and future generations are depending on us. I say that all the more strongly because I have just returned from a Muslim country and felt keenly the confusion and misery of people who didn't know the source of their problems; even the non-Muslims there often thought vaguely it was just the fault of "the government". (Well, yes, the Islamic government.)So desperate to leave their country, yet if you even hint that their religion might be a problem, they become hostile, even nasty...the effect of mass brainwashing is very disturbing. I don't want my descendents to live like that.

It might be worthwhile, every now and again, for some of us regulars to retell our stories of how we got here in the first place. For one thing, it might provide some hints as to how best to 'raise the alarm'.
I know of one person who landed in here pretty much by sheer accident - googling 'JW' for 'Jehovah's Witnesses' (!!!), jihadwatch came up in their google trawl, for some reason their curiosity was piqued, they stayed, read, learned, and signed up. Someone else, from the UK, told us that he was googling to try to find out more about the nasty Muslim rabble rouser in the UK, Anjem Choudary; jihadwatch, of course, featured any number of articles about same, so up it came in the net, and our friend settled down to read, learn, mark and inwardly digest.
In my own case I was searching the internet for 'Jacques Ellul', because I was trying to find out whether his book on Israel was still in print. That took me to Bat Yeor's site, because Ellul did the forewords for two of her books. And Bat Yeor links to this site. I'm not quite sure why I clicked on the jihadwatch link out of the various possible choices - maybe the name 'jihadwatch' sounded interesting. I hung around, eavesdropped for months, then decided to wade in and start posting. (I should say that I had already read the Quran, indeed years before Sept 11 2001, and gotten a sense that it was dangerous; and I already knew all about the Apostasy Law, thanks to a couple of Christian paperbacks giving testimony of apostates from Islam who had been threatened with death, by their own families).
Anybody else here feel like telling us how they got here?
yes,dda. I went to uni on the day of 9/11, and was horrified at the comments of my fellow students. It was the time I first had access to the internet, and I started to explore in my loneliness ( although Tim Blair and Andrew Bolt helped). So I found all the US websites, and eventually, Jihadwatch. And the rest of the story I cannot tell you for now.
