"Our convictions are stronger than a game of football. Sorry to have informed you so late." There is nothing wrong with someone standing on his convictions even when they are unpopular, but one wonders whether the Muslim team knew about the existence of Paris Foot Gay when the Muslims joined the league. Did they know and were hoping to use this incident as another occasion to press the primacy of Islamic values over Western ones? Ultimately, this is a matter of conviction indeed: will Europe follow its own, or bow to Muslim sensibilities in this and other, far more pressing matters?
"Muslim side spurns gay football challenge," from AFP, October 6 (thanks to all who sent this in):
CRETEIL, France -- A gay football club in a Paris suburb have protested to local league chiefs after being snubbed for a scheduled match by a fellow league side.
Paris Foot Gay (PFG) were set to play fellow Creteil side Bebel, who are composed of mainly Muslim players, but the evening before the match Bebel cried off.
PFG said they received an e-mail from Bebel which said they could not honour the match because it was "against their principles".
"Sorry, but because of the name of your team and in keeping with the principles of the team, which is a team of practising Muslims, we cannot play against you," said the e-mail, according to PFG's co-founder and current president Pascal Brethes.
It added: "Our convictions are stronger than a game of football. Sorry to have informed you so late."
PFG believe the decision was "homophobic", and have threatened to press charges "if Bebel continue to carry on like this", according to Brethes....
Mahoundians cannot get anymore self-hating and hypocritical than when they spew their anti-gay venom.
I've posted this before, and I'll do it again:

only Muslim convictions count don't ya know. the list of Muslim phobias would fill volumes. it would have been great to see some teh gheys beat some Muslim booty
WWMD
(what would muhammad do?)
All that running is gay.
Clearly they were afraid of losing to the gay team.
This part, for some reason, surprised me, but at the same time it did not.
I guess they probably figure "it's simply not gay when a 'troo beeleevare™' does it."
Didn't the Taliban issue a memo warning it's "warriors" against inviting young boys into their tents?
The Bebel team presumably takes its name from some placename in Paris that, in turn, takes its name from the German political thinker August Bebel.
August Bebel's most famous remark was "Antisemitism is the socialism of fools."
Now that the Muslim members of the soccer (or is it rugby in this case?) team know this, will they wish to change their name to something a little closer to home, and the French they most admire? Yes, what about Team Laval, or Team Garaudy?
Foot Gay--wasn't that a movie last year about a dancing penguin?
But seriously, Islam is a fusion of butch gays and hetero misogynists, just like Nazism. They both hate femme gays and view women as chattle. Read the Pink Swastika if you don't understand this obvious comparison.

To which, I would add:
"Antizionism is the multiculturalism of fools."
You're a bit behind with this one. The match will go on.
Pardon the obvious...but this is just plain idiotic.
As a Christian (one who actually believes the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant word of God), I am hard-pressed to understand how playing a soccer match against a team comprised of people that think and behave differently than I do compromises my own convictions one iota...
...unless those convictions included subjugating those players to mouth-foaming curses and what not (they don't).
Who among us does not labor alongside their fellow man for the common good of society (be it through vocation or recreation) while upholding their sincere beliefs?
Who among us cannot afford to simultaneously remain elitist in our ideals and egalitarian in our relationships?
Koranic Thought-police strike again...stupid...
You have certainly nailed it. It has been said before but the muslim culture is riff with homosexuality and this has much to do with the suicidal impulses of their males which we see manifested...sigh..daily...kaboom.
I actually looked at the article you referenced. The team itself has not done it, but only some of the players. Also, even this concession was only made after almost universal French condemnation. Being forced to do what you should do is not a virtue. It is rather like a caught shoplifter stating that they will return the stolen merchandise. Creteil side Bebel was facing exclusion.
If God wanted man to play soccer he would not have given us arms.
This article was published by Le FIgaro. We tried to put a comment in French saying that it is very sad that the French medias now have to report on Gays and Muslims ,,,, where are the good christian soccer players who used to be women chasers?
The comment was rejected by the newspaper.
Freedom of press..... where did it go?
