"Islamisation refers to small but significant erosions of our freedom, bit by bit, demand by demand, concession by concession." This self-censorship and pre-emptive kowtowing to intimidation is the order of the day, and only reinforces the idea that such thuggery works. Free Speech Death Watch Alert: "Muslim honour killing book cancelled over safety fears," by Ed West in the Telegraph, October 5 (thanks to Pamela):
Another European publisher has fallen victim to the continent's blasphemy laws - blasphemy against Islam, that is. As the German press is reporting:
Dusseldorf - A German publisher has cancelled plans to publish a mass-market novel out of fears that it might face violent protests due to a rude reference to the Koran, Der Spiegel magazine reported Saturday. The crime novel - about the "honour killing" of a Muslim woman - had been scheduled for September publication, but the Droste publishing company of Dusseldorf decided not to print it after all, the magazine said in a story to appear in its Monday issue.
It said the publisher had first asked the author, Gabriele Brinkmann, writing under the pen name WW Domsky, to tone down dialogue in "To Those Worthy of Honour" which might be construed as offensive, but she had refused.
Spiegel reported that the offensive phrase in question was a character saying: "You can shove your Koran up ..."
Publisher Felix Droste had asked an expert on Islamic society to study whether the crime story's text could compromise the safety of his firm or his family, and the expert suggested the phrase be modified.
But the author refused to alter it to "You can shove your honour up ..."
Droste wrote back that riots over Danish cartoons that poked fun at the Prophet Mohammed in 2005 showed that anyone publishing insults to Islam was putting their safety at risk, Spiegel said.
Over the weekend I heard Mark Steel on the wireless mocking the idea that there was an "Islamisation" of Europe, doing an impression of a call to prayer on Radio Surrey. Funny as always, but wrong - Islamisation does not mean waking up one day to find the newsreaders sporting a massive beard and a hook on his hand, or the local hoodie having his hand cut off in public, any more than climate change means immediate and dramatic Hollywood-style disasters.
Islamisation refers to small but significant erosions of our freedom, bit by bit, demand by demand, concession by concession....
wow! heavy duty stuff! god help us all!
I think you can see the future here. Does that publisher bother to seek the advice of Jewish or Christian "experts" when their novels have something derrogatory about those faiths in them? I think that we know the answer to that. This publisher has decided to give a special veto power to a religious group, due to its propensity to engage in violence at the slightest offense. Islamist demands will only escalate after this.
It's a NOVEL. Dan brown = allowed.
Hitler took over bit by bit too.
Could this foreshadow the Fourth Reichestan?
So they have their little Imams they take their novels to for the Good Mosquekeeping Seal of Approval. Reagan brought down the Soviet state and directly caused the reunification of Germany, a country Americans protected for 45 years from the dreaded Soviet rapists of their nightmares. Now they give away their freedom before violence is even threatened.
These pre-emptive capitulations to Islam seem to more and more frequent these days. The unwillingness of people in the West to defend freedom of speech because it might cause offense to Muslims is perhaps the gravest threat to our liberties because if you can't name the threat, you can't raise awareness about it.
What makes it even more disturbing is that other religions aren't sfforded the same sensitivity as Muslims are, since they aren't likely to get violent as the followers of Allah. Muslims are like spoiled rotten kids whose parents have given up trying to control because they fear their temper tantrums.
If the fear of their violence is that high when they are still a relatively small minority in the West, one can imagine how bad it's going to get if Muslims continue to settle and increase their presence in Western lands. I'm very pessimistic about the future unless things change and change fast. Especially in Europe, where the process is far along, but after a few years of Obama (A.K.A. our Muslim Sympathizer In Chief) who knows what the USA is going to look like.
"Millions for defense, not a penny for tribute!"
Is this the price Germans have to pay? Will we in America ever pay it as well?
Or will we stand for freedom and defend it with very breathe in our bodies?
If I can't call a murdering rapacious pedophile a murdering rapacious pedophile, what will I have left to say about Mohamed? I mean except thieving psychopathic barrow?

Well spoken, Proud Infidel.
And what's is next in this wonderful Islamophobic world?
Book burning?
"The sun burnt every day. It burnt Time. The world rushed in a circle and turned on its axis and time was busy burning the years and the people anyway, without any help from him. So if he burnt things with the firemen and the sun burnt Time, that meant that everything burnt!"
- Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
Why are they so afraid of the repercussions of radical Muslim immigrants?
If they rise up and start burning cars and smashing windows then you bring out the police with their billy clubs, teargas, water cannon, and arrest every last one of the trouble makers. Video tape and photo-identify them.
Throw them in jail and then send them packing back to the country of origin with their records of law-breaking over theire lousy heads.
Enough is quite enough. What is wrong with leaders these days? Have they no gumption at all?
They seem to have gumption when it comes time to criticizing the political right-leaning who are opposed to all of this Islamo-fascist nonsense.
"A few agents of the thought Police moved always among them, spreading false rumours and marking down and eliminating the few individuals who were judged capable of becoming dangerous..."
George Orwell and Ray Bradbury it seems were the true prophets of the modern age...
"There are only four ways in which a ruling group can fall from power. Either it is conquered from without, or it governs so inefficiently that the masses are stirred to revolt, or it allows a strong and discontented Middle group to come into being, or it loses its own self-confidence and willingness to govern. These causes do not operate singly, and as a rule all four of them are present in some degree. A ruling class which could guard against all of them would remain in power permanently. Ultimately the determining factor is the mental attitude of the ruling class itself. ... From the point of view of our present rulers, therefore, the only genuine dangers are the splitting-off of a new group of able, under-employed, power-hungry people, and the growth of liberalism and scepticism in their own ranks. The problem, that is to say, is educational. ... and ... the level of popular education is actually declining." George Orwell, "1984"

Kudos to Ed West for discussing this matter in a blog attached to a mainstream newspaper. I clicked on the link and read the original article in situ, and then had a look through the comments. The usual apologists for Islam are there, of course; but there were also a good few intelligently alarmed and angry people.
We need to have a mobile printer, a bit like the pirate radio stations a few years ago.
