Some may be reminded of the case of Ettore Majorana, an Italian theoretical physicist, and presumably knowledgeable about nuclear physics during its fateful early pre-war period, disappeared in 1938, while on a ferry from Naples to Palermo. He had known Enrico Fermi and Emilio Segre, the two most important Italian scientists in that field, both of whom had by the time that Majorana disappeared had gone to the United States (the leggi razziali had come into force in 1938; Fermi had a Jewish wife; Segre was Jewish). Many theories have been put forth -- murder, suicide, kidnapping, a move to Argentina, a move into a monastery -- to explain that "disappearance of Majorana." It was the subject of a study by the Sicilian writer Leonardo Sciascia: La Scomparsa di Majorana.

Squirrel "spies" is not such a strange idea. Attach a tiny camera, perhaps implant some sort of electrodes in various parts of the animal's brain and body so that one can to some extent choose its direction and the speed of movement, train the squirrel to associate pleasure with some substance one knows is near the intelligence target, etc., and you have a potentially powerful intelligence gathering method. The military has apparently used chickens in Kuwait as chemical detectors, dolphins have sometimes been used to locate underwater mines, and pigeons have been used in various ways in war. As advanced as technology is, animals still have some abilities that technology cannot yet match. The nose of a dog is still apparently often far superior to technological chemical detectors.

For the Iranians to cry like this suggests he was a very important person. My money's on Shahram Amiri being induced/bribed/blackmailed to seek asylum in the West, and even now he's singing like a bird to the CIA/MI-5/Mossad. Soon, we'll know the exact state of the Iranian nuclear program, and the location of every one of the nuclear installations in Iran, "secret" or not.

But are there really scientists in Muslim countries? I've got my doubts about that. I read "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Greene. It's about superstrings, hidden dimensions, and the quest for the ultimate theory. He mentions lots of scientists from all over the world who contributed to this terrific project. There was not a single Muslim name among them. Islam is hostile to science, that Khan in Porkistan who got nukes for his country stole all the material, he only copied. No ideas of his own, he's a thief like the self-appointed prophet who made a living of robbery.

I don't know who is responsible for this man's disappearance but I wonder if they would be interested in working their magic on a few American politicians. Our country might survive if they were in a state of suspended animation for about 18 months; at least they couldn't inflict any more of their hideous, Marxist debacles on us.
