Kuwaiti paper says that Syria has transferred 1/4 of its missile arsenal to Hizballah

They could hit every part of Israel. "Kuwaiti paper: Syria transferred 1/4 of its missile arsenal to Hizbullah," from the Jerusalem Post, October 15 (thanks to Alexandre):

Syria has transferred nearly a quarter of its long- and medium-range missile arsenal to Hizbullah, the Kuwaiti al Jarida reported on Thursday.

Security sources in Jerusalem told the paper that the missiles, now held by Hizbullah, could hit every part of Israel, Channel 10 reported....

Which is why enunciated Israeli policy SHOULD BE that - considering Hezbollah's status as a Syrian client - an attack on Israel by Hezbollah will be considered an attack on Israel by Syria proper and will be correspondingly countered as such.

One fourth of Syria's missiles is a major portion of Syria's arsenal. Looks like Syria has painted a bulleye on themselves for future Israeli targeting.

Syria moves missiles towards Israel, Turkey eliminates Israel from NATO exercise, the "Let's wipe Israel off the map" Iranians a whisker away from atomic weapons. Seems like the muslims are lining up for another all out go at Israel.

But 0 is speaking directly with Syria. I don't understand...is this part of some missile reduction plan the big 0 and little h have worked out? Surely, hezbollah is just assisting in the elimination of the syrian missles. I doubt they would use them against Israel; plus the UN is monitoring the situation to make sure hezbollah doesn't re-arm. This is just some mis-understanding -- was the kuwaiti paper written in arabic?

Cornelius,

That won't happen, because the IDF is only well skilled at attacking poorly armed civilian defense forces. The IDF is cowardly and will not face a professional state sponsored military...the evidence is on the ground.

The IDF waited until political pressures pushed the Syrian military out of Southern Lebannon before they invaded...and, by the way, got their butts kicked by poorly supported and poorly equipped civilians using outdated katyusha rockets and worn out kalishnakovs...an embarassing defeat for the IDF.

The IDF will not face a real army...

Peace
Abdullah

Abdullah, I think you should ask Comic Relief for his handle.

Abdullah,

You have zero credibility here...even as an Islamist.

Syria invaded Lebanon in 1982, destroyed the Syrian armor in the Bekaa, the Soviet-supplied anti-aircraft batteries throughout the country, and wiped out one third of the Syrian Air Force (at least 70 planes at the time) over the skies of Lebanon...with the loss of exactly 2 planes.

Israeli reticence in attacking Syria today is based solely on her desire to maintain relations with Egypt and Jordan. In my humble opinion, these ties are not worth the sacrifice.

Of course I meant "Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982"...

Hassan Nasrallah:

spleens and p*ssies.."

"I already have four cats.."

Abby sez:

"The IDF is cowardly and will not face a professional state sponsored military...the evidence is on the ground."

hmmmm, in the six day war, Israel destroyed the Egyptian air force, the Jordanian air force, the Syrian air force and the Iraqi air force,,,Israel also destroyed waves of Egyptian tanks, waves of Jordanian tanks, waves of Syrian tanks and waves of Iraqi tanks....Israel then proceed to clear the whole of the west bank of the Jordan River of Jordanian forces..Israel then reached the Suez Canal and moved over 30 miles into Syria..

but as Abby sez...the evidence is on the ground albeit in smoldering Islamic heaps...

I suspect Syria is also supplying the missile crews to man the missile batteries...yep ...missiles labeled "Made in North Korea" and/or "Donated from Iran with love..brother"...

But how is this possible? Aren't all those "freedom fighters" opposing Israel just poor people armed with stones? Sarc/off

I guess those worthless UNIFIL troops are actually worthless..
