Obama creates task force to combat jihad recruitment in Afghan prisons -- now can we have one for the U.S.?

"Task force created to combat al Qaida in Afghan prisons," by Mark Seibel for the McClatchy Newspapers, October 5 (thanks to Paul):

WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration took steps Thursday toward confronting a troubling al Qaida presence in Afghanistan's prison system, announcing the creation of a military task force to oversee detention operations there and naming a prominent military lawyer to be its deputy commander.

Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan, had called for the task force's creation last month in a strategic assessment that included dire warnings about the prison system.

"There are more insurgents per square foot in corrections facilities than anywhere else in Afghanistan," McChrystal wrote. "Unchecked, Taliban/al Qaida leaders patiently coordinate and plan, unconcerned with interference from prison personnel or the military."

The Afghan prison system, including a U.S-operated detention center at Bagram Air Base, also helps create future insurgents, McChrystal said. That's because "the Afghan people see U.S. detention operations as secretive and lacking in due process" and because "hardened, committed Islamists are indiscriminately mixed with petty criminals and sex offenders," McChrystal said.

"They are using the opportunity to radicalize and indoctrinate them," McChrystal warned....

All of that could be said to be going on in U.S. prisons. How long will it be before anyone notices?

I thought hardened, committed islamists ARE petty criminals and sex offenders.

From article...All of that could be said to be going on in U.S. prisons. How long will it be before anyone notices?

Training criminals, jihadist's and otherwise, is a prison industry...This has been going on for a long time...This started in the US about the time social workers, lawyers, and community organizers pushed their way through the front gate and insisted on 'prisoners rights'...Religious rights were the biggie...The theory is that the presence of God is good in prisons...That God will have a positive effect on the criminal with faith...No one told them about Allah...What the community organizers missed in their zeal was that faith in Allah is expressed best by Jihad...Allah even wrote about it in his books...Rasool Obama's task force, otherwise known as 'The Invasion Of the Community Organizers'... will recommend more rights for prisoners, better treatment, better food, and big bucks cash prizes for the bingo games. That will reduce criminal/jihad recruitment...Brilliant...that's why we pay community organizers those big bucks...

"The Obama administration took steps Thursday toward confronting a troubling al Qaida presence in Afghanistan's prison system,..." -- article above

I think the Community Organizer in Chief may have an easy solution to this: release all the al Qaida members from Gitmo and Afghan prisons, too. As for US prisons, Gitmo prisoners will either be transferred there or they will be sent to South Pacific islands.

"...petty criminals and sex offenders..."

Hey, we shouldn't pick on these guys. Aren't they just following the example of the Perfect Man (SWT)?
