Peaceful Iranian ship laden with peaceful weapon seized off Yemen

Weapons for the Shi'ites who are rebelling against the Yemeni government. "Iranian ship laden with weapons seized off Yemen," by Nasser Arrabyee for Gulf News, October 27 (thanks to Sr. Soph):

Sanaa: An Iranian ship laden with various weapons believed to be for Al Houthi rebels was seized Monday off the Yemeni coasts of the Midi harbour in the far northern west of the country, security sources said Tuesday.

The 5-member crew, 4 Iranians and Indian, were taken immediately to the capital Sanaa for investigation.

The security sources believed that the ship was in its way to unload its weapon shipment, which includes anti-armour missiles, somewhere close to Haradh where it could be hidden in a farm before Al Houthi rebels collected them.

The Haradh area is only tens of kilometers from the western frontline of Al Malahaid.

Earlier on Monday, the independent paper Al Ahali said that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards train Al Houthi rebels in training camps in neighboring Eritrea. The paper also said that the Iranian revolutionary guards transport the weapons through the Eritrean harbour of Asab, from where it is transported to Yemen's Midi Harbour.

Abdullah Al Mahdoon, one rebel leader, who surrendered himself to the army earlier this month, said in previous statements, that Al Houthi rebels receive unlimited support from the Iranian revolutionary guards, and experts from the Lebanese Hezbullah....

As Hugh has so often explained in various contexts, we can sometimes safeguard our own interests in the Middle East by doing no more than keeping out of the way of various rival regional factions and letting them get on with fighting each other.
Here is yet another example of Iranian support for terrorism. The mad mullahs just cannot wait for judgement day.

"The mad mullahs just cannot wait for judgement day."

You're so right, Stephen.
They're accelerating on a descent directly to hell on earth!

I just wonder how many shipments have managed to slip through the net?

Islam is a religion of peace, Islam is a religion of peace, Islam is a religion of peace...............

You know, I even clicked the rudy slippers together three times and still nothing changes.

From above: You know, I even clicked the rudy slippers together three times and still nothing changes.

Be careful with those magikal incantations...You can get your fingers burnt and go insane...

Say shahada once, say shahada twice, but never, ever, say shahada thrice...

Abdullah M did that and look what happened to him...

Iran has a plan...Raise Mahdi from the dead and take over the planet for Allah and Shia...Of course it's pretty difficult to raise people from the dead...Jesus was one of the few who could do it...Certainly no modern Mullah has the ability...
Thaumaturgy is not an Islamic specialty, except for the invocations to the demon Allah...But as we know, Allah and Gabriel make no personal appearances, they gave that up when Mahound died...They were so busy ministering to the heavenly virgins, that they didn't even make it to Mahounds funeral...Fine friends they were...
While Iran has no power to raise the dead, it does have the power to create dead people...And so it does...
Allah willing...and he always is...

"Iran has a plan...Raise Mahdi from the dead and take over the planet for Allah and Shia..."

Is this necessary with the Obamahdi in charge of the most powerful country in the world?

In the mid-1960s, Yemen was the scene of fighting between those described as the "Royalists" and those described as Nasserite, quasi-Marxists (the "Marxism" was skin-deep), and became a proxy war between the Saudi rulers and Nasser. It went on for years, and helped divert attention, and to some degree sap the strength, of both the Egyptians and the Saudis. In other words, it was wonderful.

Yemen has a larger population than Saudi Arabia. Many Yemenis have gone to work as laborers in Saudi Arabia, and some stayed, and flourished -- see the grandfather of Osama Bin Laden. But the Yemenis are a constant worry for the Saudi regime, and from time to time they boot large numbers out, overnight.

Now, in Yemen, there are two conflicts. One is in the north, with Shi'a tribesmen revolting against the attempt -- quite unnecessary, some might think -- by the central government to impose its will, to have its writ run, even in the northern mountains. And in the south, in the area that once formed a separate, "marxist" or "marxisant" (the quotes are intended to show that the epithets come from the popular press, and are not exactly accurate) Yemen (until the two Yemens were forcibly joined at the well-upholstered, gun-holstered hip), with its center in Aden (think of the British in Aden Town, think of Mad Mike Hoare, go back to those thrilling days of yesteryear, with Humphrey Trevelyan and his associates -- how peaceful that particular war now seems) is conducting, at the same time, its own incipient rebellion against Yemen.

Let the warring tribes and factions and sects and families of Yemen at it. Do nothing to aid one side, or the other. Let their wars go on forever. Let Saudi Arabia worry about Iran, and the Houthis, and all that jazz. The Saudis ahve all the money in the world, and they will be buying friends, and sending money, and everything that money can be, to protect themselves. Don't stop them, but don't help them. Let them worry about what Iranian Revolutionary Guards may do, and act against Iran on their own. Let Yemen be as it was some forty years ago, when Nasser and the Saudi "royal" family went at it.

Remember the Iran-Iraq War? It should have gone on forever. Let the news of the day be of bombs set off by Muslims, in Muslim countries, of warfare among Muslims in Muslim countries. Let non-Muslims read about these conflicts in their newspapers, see it on their television, listen to it on their radios -- the spectacle, all over the lands where Muslims dominate, of constant violence and aggression and failure to compromise, and then, viewing that spectacle, draw some unavoidable conclusions about Islam and minds on Islam.

But--how can this be? I thought Muslims were "harsh towards the disbelievers and merciful towards each other"? sarc/off

Of course, the lie is given to this everyday. Through the miracle of "Takfir", a Muslim may simply declare his Muslim foes to be "hypocrites" or "apostates", and the killing may go on apace.

And, of course, Sunnis and Shi'ites already consider each other to be non-Muslim, so butchery between them is already Halal!

Did anyone notice the mention of Eritrea, above? Once Muslim-majority Eritrea broke away from Christian-majority Ethiopia, it was free to become yet another Jihad-terror sponsoring state--and so it has.

No, everybody, Listen, please. These guys were just on a cruise. Okay? So, the only weapons they had were missiles for their cruise. So, they only had cruise missiles. That's all they were. What's everybody so excited about? Peaceful weapons, peaceful cruise. Cruise weapons. Only some cruise missiles. How could they be more harmless? It's all a part of the peaceful plan of the profit mudhummud (may PB&JbUHB*) I believe it, don't you?
