But...but...they really, really want peace! "Hamas accused of inciting J'lem riots," from the Jerusalem Post, October 25 (thanks to Maxwell):
After security forces clashed on Sunday with Muslim rioters on the Temple Mount and elsewhere in east Jerusalem, police blamed Hamas and the Islamic Movement for once again inciting Israel's Arab population to violence in the capital."Throughout the day, very large groups of Arab residents of east Jerusalem and other Israeli Arabs have come to the area at the encouragement of the Islamic Movement," Police Chief Commissioner Insp.-Gen. David Cohen told reporters. "I urge them (the Islamic Movement) to show restraint and not to incite."...
Good luck with that.
Police also released a separate statement blaming Hamas for inciting violence in a bid to "disrupt order on the Temple Mount."Meanwhile, Hamas condemned Israel for "infiltrating the Aksa Mosque" and "defiling" it.
The group also called on Palestinians to rise up against Israel, for Arabs and Muslims worldwide to punish Israel. "The real battle begins again," declared spokesman Fawzi Barhoum. In the West Bank, the Palestinian Authority condemned the Israeli operation. "Jerusalem is a red line that Israel should not cross," said Nabil Abu Rdeneh, spokesman for PA President Mahmoud Abbas.
Treason:
Israeli Arab MKs blamed Israel for the escalation in tensions, as they had done during previous clashes. MK Ahmed Tibi (United Arab List-Tal) said that Israel had "broken the law," complaining that he had waited 50 minutes in order to ascend the Temple Mount.UAL-Tal MK Taleb a-Sanaa said that Israel was provoking "a billion Muslims" and sparking unnecessary riots by allowing "extremist elements to defile the mosque."...
New Rule (apologies to Bill Maher): Israel should have no more "Arab MK's" than Saudi Arabia has Jews in the leadership.
As for "provoking" Muslims - anything less than a full-blown race to dhimmitude qualifies as a "provocation" to these losers.
Message to Israel re Israeli Arabs: Having people who want to destroy the state participate in the state is suicide.
"UAL-Tal MK Taleb a-Sanaa said that Israel was provoking "a billion Muslims"
Stereotyping all Muslims! Cuff him Dan-O!
And the main stream media look the other way as usual.
They are too busy thinking up new lies and ways to blame Israel to do any real reporting.
Israeli-Arabs, like those who sit in the Knesset, have more rights than do Arabs in any Arab country. This is lost on a hell of lot of people including Muslims most anywhere and the Western MSM most everywhere. Also lost on the guy occupying the Oval Office right now. Stupid world.
Couldn't agree more, dear Wellington. The Mohammedans in Israel have a good time and the Israelis are killed all over the place. And Obama gives it a complacent smile. Nice president.
"Meanwhile, Hamas condemned Israel for 'infiltrating the Aksa Mosque' and 'defiling' it." -- headline
If anything, Israelis were defiled upon ENTERING this god-forsaken structure.
Pedophile Muhammad was a defiler of Truth, children, women and property! ..so Hello!
I managed to infiltrate some pro-Palestinian / Jihadi websites and they've been sending me urgent alerts about the evil plans of those nefarious Iraeli Jews re: al aqsa mosque for weeks and weeks. The email chain just gets longer and longer. At Sukkot, I figured out where the muhammadan conspiracy was going.
This whole mini intifada is a muhammadan stunt based on another baseless libel.
All I can think is, with the Gaza situation somewhat quiet for the time being and Lebanon rebuilding...GOSH DARNIT!!! It's too damn peaceful for the muhammadans.
Meanwhile, Hamas condemned Israel for "infiltrating the Aksa Mosque" and "defiling" it.
The only ones defiling anything here are the islamists.
Hamas and Fatah are only good at causing trouble and general mayhem, these instigators need to be deported to the nearest islamic loving state.
"Meanwhile, Hamas condemned Israel for 'infiltrating the Aksa Mosque' and 'defiling' it."
.............................
And why did "Israel infiltrate the Aksa Mosque"? Well, it may have had to do with Muslims at the mosque raining stones down on Jewish worshippers at the Western Wall--during Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, the Jewish high holidays.
Most of the Western press coverage of this made it sound as though it was conflict between Muslims and Jews--not that it was unprovoked aggression by Muslims (this is common with the media and other Jihad terror against Jews--or Christians, or Buddhists, or Hindus...).
It was only after Muslims at the mosque would not stop the attacks on peaceful Jews that the police entered Al-Aqsa mosque. Notice, Muslims want to make Al-Aqsa a "no-go" zone, even when they are using the mosque to launch attacks--how many times have we seen this before with Muslims, where they want mosques off-limits to authorities, even when they are being used as barracks and armories?
more:
In the West Bank, the Palestinian Authority condemned the Israeli operation. "Jerusalem is a red line that Israel should not cross," said Nabil Abu Rdeneh, spokesman for PA President Mahmoud Abbas.
.............................
From this, it is clear that Muslims don't just want to make Al-Aqsa--the very site of the Jewish Temple Mount--off limits for Israeli authorities. They want to make *Jerusalem* off limits.
One small problem here--Jerusalem--not Tel Aviv, as is so often assumed--is not just a major Israeli city, and its most historic site--it is Israel's *capital*.
As ugly as these attacks on Jews peacefully worshipping at the Western Wall were, I think this is part of a larger issue--that of delegitimizing Israel's claim to any part of Jerusalem--both politically and historically.
Along with the denial of the Holocaust, there is a Muslim movement to discredit the well-documented historical existence of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem, the site the Al-Aqsa Mosque was built on. There is, along with this, a broader movement to deny that Jerusalem has a Jewish history at all.
It is well-known that "Palestinians" seek to make Jerusalem the capital of any Palestinian state. Not just Arab-majority "East Jerusalem", but the whole city.
Driving Israel out of Jerusalem would be a major step in "driving Israel into the sea"--that is, destroying Israel completely.
.
They only want 'peace' in Minnesota too, as we all know:
http://m.insidehighered.com/news/2008/01/03/meditation
I know this one's over a year ago but I think any and all instances of islam beign practiced as prescribed in the KKKoranmpf should be reported and it seesm this one may have slipped general recognition, since it's a small community college.
it also makes you wonder.. HOW MANY 'students' do these hostile countries send not only here, but to 'study' in Europe as well?
IMHO people who VISIT our countries to STUDY need to follow OUR rules and BASTA.
.
.
Easy solution - bulldoze al-Aqsa. Seriously, why isn't it simply dismantled from where it perches atop the Temple of Solomon and rebuilt at a different location (say about 100 miles to the East)?
Could you ever imagine that ANY Islamic government anywhere
in the universe would prevent Muslims from visiting
a holy site that was also a place of reverence for
Jews or Christians in deference to protecting the rights
of a minority group of people as superceding the rights of the majority ?
Maybe on Planet Muhammad....
What nation other than Israel on the whole planet
prevents its own people from praying at a holy site
in order to defend the righs of a minority ? Name one...
Not even Democratic India prevented Hindus from entering
the Babri Mosque (which was built on a destroyed Hindu temple) during the well-known mosque conflict
years ago....AND RIGHTLY SO...
On this point Geert Wilders is WRONG. The problem isn't
solely Islam and not its adherents. The problem IS
ISLAM AND MUSLIMS....in totality without exception..........period.
Islam IS a CANCER ON PLANET EARTH AND IT
NEEDS TO BE EXTIRPATED COMPLETELY AND PERMANENTLY.
Agreed, NAKAL!
Do I have this right: Hamas is pelting jews with rocks at the Temple Mount because Abbas just called a January election (putting Hamas on the defensive?).. because Hamas just pulled out of the Egyptain mediated talks to reconcile Fatah-Hamas division.. because the proposal wasn't "amended to say Palestinians have the right to keep fighting Israel"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/10/15/hamas-rejects-egyptian-pl_n_322011.html
If the powers that be are serious about Peace - "two states side by side" (zzzzz) the solution could probably include more talk about large cash Settlements. The Palestinians are probably looking for a mother of a payout. More money out of Obama, UN, Iran, EU, or Allah. And to break up the boredom, cruel attacks and less 'prisoners for pics'
The extremists defiling the mosque are Muslims. They are so
morally and ethically bankrupt as to desecrate mosques and
blame others, just to start riots and incite the Muslim world, which react to the wildest rumors.
Gravenimage
Well said. A beautiful piece of analysis.
Ditto on your approbation of gravenimage's analysis. Her analysis was right on point though the truths in it will not be mentioned by way too many people who ought to mention them.
MK Ahmed Tibi (United Arab List-Tal) said that Israel had "broken the law," complaining that he had waited 50 minutes in order to ascend the Temple Mount."
And how many centuries did the Jews wait in order to visit, unimpeded and unhumiliated at every step, the Temple Mount?
I guess it bears repeating:
"A Muslim asked a turtle to take him across the river.
Initially, the turtle was suspicious but ultimately
relented. Half-way across the river, the Muslim shot
the turtle in the shell with an AK-47. The turtle, as
it lay dying, exclaimed "Why did you shoot me ? I did
what you asked me to do.." The Muslims replied, "I can't
help it, I am a Muslim.."
Hugh: "And how many centuries did the Jews wait in order to visit, unimpeded and unhumiliated at every step, the Temple Mount?"
Here is the transcript of the original broadcast, from 1967, describing the moment when the Jews of Israel found themselves once more able to access - after nearly two thousand years of remorseless exclusion, first by Romans and Byzantines, and then by the invading-and-occupying Muslims - their holiest place.
THIS YEAR IN JERUSALEM
[EXCERPT FROM A JEWISH ISRAELI BLOG ‘PREOCCUPIED TERRITORY’].
“Yesterday was Yom Yerushalayim, which commemorates the reunification of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War. However, the annoyance of a repeatedly crashing computer prevented me [blogger] from posting until now.
Isracast has a wonderful recording of the actual recapture of the Old City by IDF troops.
Click on the yellow "Listen" link on the upper left hand corner of the screen. Thanks to Treppenwitz for the originally posting the link.
'Colonel Motta Gur [on loudspeaker]: All company commanders, we’re sitting right now on the ridge and we’re seeing the Old City. Shortly we’re going to go in to the Old City of Jerusalem, that all generations have dreamed about.
'We will be the first to enter the Old City. Eitan’s tanks will advance on the left and will enter the Lion’s Gate.
'The final rendezvous will be on the open square above.
[The open square of the Temple Mount.]
[Sound of applause by the soldiers.]
Yossi Ronen: We are now walking on one of the main streets of Jerusalem towards the Old City. The head of the force is about to enter the Old City.
[Gunfire.]
Yossi Ronen: There is still shooting from all directions; we’re advancing towards the entrance of the Old City.
[Sound of gunfire and soldiers’ footsteps.]
[Yelling of commands to soldiers.]
[More soldiers’ footsteps.]
The soldiers are keeping a distance of approximately 5 meters between them. It’s still dangerous to walk around here; there is still sniper shooting here and there.
[Gunfire.]
We’re all told to stop; we’re advancing towards the mountainside;
'on our left is the Mount of Olives; we’re now in the Old City opposite the Russian church.
'I’m right now lowering my head; we’re running next to the mountainside. We can see the stone walls.
'They’re still shooting at us. The Israeli tanks are at the entrance to the Old City, and ahead we go, through the Lion’s Gate.
'I’m with the first unit to break through into the Old City. There is a Jordanian bus next to me, totally burnt; it is very hot here.
'We’re about to enter the Old City itself. We’re standing below the Lion’s Gate, the Gate is about to come crashing down, probably because of the previous shelling. Soldiers are taking cover next to the palm trees; I’m also staying close to one of the trees. We’re getting further and further into the City.
[Gunfire.]
'Colonel Motta Gur announces on the army wireless:
' The Temple Mount is in our hands! I repeat, the Temple Mount is in our hands!
'All forces, stop firing! This is the David Operations Room. All forces, stop firing! I repeat, all forces, stop firing! Over.
'Commander eight-nine here, is this Motta (Gur) talking? Over.
[Inaudible response on the army wireless by Motta Gur.]
'Uzi Narkiss: Motta, there isn’t anybody like you. You’re next to the Mosque of Omar.
Yossi Ronen: I’m driving fast through the Lion’s Gate all the way inside the Old City.
Command on the army wireless: Search the area, destroy all pockets of resistance [but don't touch anything in the houses], especially the holy places.
[Lt.- Col. Uzi Eilam blows the Shofar. Soldiers are singing ‘Jerusalem of Gold’.]
Uzi Narkiss: Tell me, where is the Western Wall? How do we get there?
Yossi Ronen: I’m walking right now down the steps towards the Western Wall.
' I’m not a religious man, I never have been, but this is the Western Wall and I’m touching the stones of the Western Wall.
Soldiers: [reciting the ‘Shehechianu’ blessing]: Baruch ata Hashem, elokeinu melech haolam, she-hechianu ve-kiemanu ve-hegianu la-zman ha-zeh. [Translation: Blessed art Thou L-rd G-d King of the Universe who hast sustained us and kept us and hast brought us to this day]
Rabbi Shlomo Goren: Baruch ata Hashem, menachem tsion u-voneh Yerushalayim. [Translation: Blessed art Thou, who comfortest Zion and buildest Jerusalem]
Soldiers: Amen!
[Soldiers sing ‘Hatikva’ next to the Western Wall.]
Rabbi Goren: We’re now going to recite the prayer for the fallen soldiers of this war against all of the enemies of Israel:
[Soldiers weeping]
El male rahamim, shohen ba-meromim. Hamtse menuha nahona al kanfei hashina, be-maalot kedoshim, giborim ve-tehorim, kezohar harakiya meirim u-mazhirim. Ve-nishmot halalei tsava hagana le-yisrael, she-naflu be-maaraha zot, neged oievei yisrael, ve-shnaflu al kedushat Hashem ha-am ve-ha’arets, ve-shichrur Beit Hamikdash, Har Habayit, Hakotel ha-ma’aravi veyerushalayim ir ha-elokim. Be-gan eden tehe menuhatam. Lahen ba’al ha-rahamim, yastirem beseter knafav le-olamim. Ve-yitsror be-tsror ha-hayim et nishmatam adoshem hu nahlatam, ve-yanuhu be-shalom al mishkavam [soldiers weeping loud] ve-ya’amdu le-goralam le-kets ha-yamim ve-nomar amen!
[Translation: Merciful G-d in heaven, may the heroes and the pure, be under thy Divine wings, among the holy and the pure who shine bright as the sky, and the souls of soldiers of the Israeli army who fell in this war against the enemies of Israel, who fell for their loyalty to G-d and the land of Israel, who fell for the liberation of the Temple, the Temple Mount, the Western Wall and Jerusalem the city of the Lord. May their place of rest be in paradise. Merciful One, O keep their souls forever alive under Thy protective wings. The Lord being their heritage, may they rest in peace, for they shall rest and stand up for their allotted portion at the end of the days, and let us say, Amen.]
[Soldiers are weeping. Rabbi Goren sounds the shofar. Sound of gunfire in the background.]
Rabbi Goren: Le-shana HA-ZOT be-Yerushalayim ha-b’nuya, be-yerushalayim ha-atika! [Translation: This year in a rebuilt Jerusalem! In the Jerusalem of old!]
END OF TRANSCRIPT OF BROADCAST.
- Jewish blogger’s closing remark:
'It is terribly moving and humbling to imagine this scene - secular generals awed by the sight of the Kotel, the mixed strains of "Hatikva" and "Yerushalayim Shel Zahav", the tears of grown (and heavily armed) men as they pray for the fallen. It makes one realize the sacrifices that were made throughout Israel's history, and it recalls the imperative to make sure those sacrifices were not in vain.”
END.
I, dumbledore's army, say: I knew about the story of the secular soldiers weeping at the Western Wall – the first time the Jews gained full control of their holy places since the Romans destroyed the city in the 1st century – but until I came across this transcript, I did not know the fine detail of what actually happened.
After reading this I know that the Muslim demand that the Old City, which includes the Temple Mount and historic Jewish Quarter, as well as the historic and ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives, should be ‘given back’ to the Arab Muslims [who lost it in fair fight in the war of 1967] - to become the trophy capital of a ‘Palestinian Islamic Arab’ state - is breathtakingly arrogant...and obscenely sadistic in its cruelty.
And here, for Hugh, who has probably read it, but also for any other non-Muslim here who may not know much about this area of history, is the account of the celebration of the Feast of Shavuot, in 1967.

The magic of Shavuot, 1967
By Larry Domnitch May 22, 2007
Reprinted from our publication of this piece in 2005, on the 40th anniversay of the holiday.
'Over the last two millennia, Jews have visited Jerusalem in honor of the festivals, in lieu of the Biblically ordained pilgrimages. On the holiday of Shavuot, there was also the custom to visit the grave of King David on Mount Zion, since according to tradition, the date of his birth and passing was the holiday of Shavuot.
'When Shavuot arrived in 1948, it was a month after the establishment of the State of Israel, and Jews could no longer continue to make the pilgrimage to the Western Wall. {note: although grudgingly allowed by the Muslims to visit the Wall, during the preceding centuries, Jews had NOT been allowed onto the Mount - dda}.
'The Jordanians, who occupied the eastern half of the city since the War of Independence, blocked all rights of passage to the Jews. However, the pilgrimage to King David's tomb on nearby Mount Zion, located on the Israeli side of divided Jerusalem, continued.
'Over the next nineteen years, crowds made their way to Mount Zion, where they could view the 'Old City' and the Temple Mount.
On the morning of Shavuot June 15, 1967, just six days after the liberation of the Old City of Jerusalem following the Six Day War, the Old City was officially opened to the Israeli public. For the first time in almost two thousand years, masses of Jews could visit the Western Wall and walk through the cherished streets of Judaism's capital city as members of the sovereign Jewish nation. Each Jew who ventured to the Western Wall on that unforgettable day represented the living realization of their ancestors' dreams over the millennia. It was one of those rare, euphoric moments in history.
'From the late hours of the night, thousands of Jerusalem residents streamed towards Zion gate, eagerly awaiting entry into the Old City. At 4 a.m., the accumulating crowds were finally allowed to enter the area of the Western Wall. The first Minyan (traditional quorum of ten men) soon began. Over fifteen hundred people shared that special moment. As the sun continued to rise, there was a steady flow of thousands who made their way to the Old City.
In total, two hundred thousand visited the Western Wall that day.
' It was the first pilgrimage, en masse, of Jews to Jewish-controlled Jerusalem on a Jewish festival in two thousand years, since the pilgrimages for the festivals in Temple times.
The Jerusalem Post described the epic scene:
"Every section of the population was represented. Kibbutz members and soldiers rubbing shoulders with Neturei Karta. Mothers came with children in prams, and old men trudged steeply up Mount Zion, supported by youngsters on either side, to see the wall of the Temple before the end of their days.
"Some wept, but most faces were wreathed in smiles. For thirteen continuous hours a colorful variety of all peoples trudged along in perfect order, stepping patiently when told to do so at each of six successive barriers set up by the police to regulate the flow."
An eyewitness described the moment:
"I've never known so electric an atmosphere before or since. Wherever we stopped, we began to dance. Holding aloft Torah scrolls we swayed and danced and sang at the tops of our voices. So many of the Psalms and songs are about Jerusalem and Zion and the words reached into us a new life. As the sky lightened, we reached the Zion gate. Still singing and dancing, we poured into the narrow alleyways beyond."
On Shavuot[1], three thousand two hundred and seventy nine years earlier, the Israelites stood at Mount Sinai and felt the gravity of the moment as a unique relationship was formed between themselves and their Creator.
On the day of Shavuot following Israel's amazing victory of the Six-Day War, multitudes ascended to the Western Wall, as their ancestors had done in the past, and they celebrated the holiday just a short distance from the Temple Mount. They, too, felt the magic of the moment.”
[1] Shavuot, the Feast of the Weeks, is the Jewish holiday celebrating the harvest season in Israel. Shavuot, which means "weeks", refers to the timing of the festival which is held exactly seven weeks after Passover.
And here is an article about 'Intolerance [i.e. MUSLIM intolerance, and foolish Israeli appeasement of that intolerable intolerance - dda] on the Temple Mount', today.

Three very telling paragraphs:
"Visiting the Temple Mount {not just the Wall, but the hilltop itself - dda} is a schizophrenic experience. When standing there, it is impossible not to be awestruck by the magnitude of where you are and the enormity of the colossal events that took place there. It is on the Temple Mount that both the First and Second Temple stood for nearly 1,000 years, where millions of Jews from all over the Land of Israel and the Diaspora made the three festival pilgrimages and where, according to Jewish belief, the Third Temple, ushering in the days of the messiah, is destined to be built. Throughout history, whenever and wherever Jews were engaged in prayer, they faced Jerusalem. And when in Jerusalem, they pray in the direction of the Temple Mount.
"It boggles the mind to imagine your family tree and to consider when the last time anybody in the family line had been on the Temple Mount. Might that ancestor have been one of the survivors of the fighting that took place there prior to the destruction of the Second Temple by the Romans in 70 CE? Might it have been on Shavuot of that year, the final pilgrimage festival celebrated by the Jewish people prior to the destruction?
"But now that I was standing in that holiest of places, which generations of Jews for 2,000 years could only dream of visiting, I was forbidden to pray. Simply moving my lips in whispered prayer could be grounds for removal.
" Why? Because I am a Jew.
"And only a Muslim can pray on the holiest site in Judaism. A Jew may not."
