nah,,, were such an operation a fact, you'd be dead by now mr. spencer. i'm assuming an otherwise healthy system would reject such a toxic inclusion. a palestinian kidney would filter out the essential nutrients and minerals, and distribute poison within your system. you couldn't take it sir, your whole system would revolt, and if subconsciously aware of the nature of the poison circulating through your system, your body/mind would try to kill itself in self-loathing. you are too much of a human being, a decent man type person, to want to live with such a poisoned system.

I think the reduction implied in that quote of the Islamic concept of al-fikr could be exploited by clever apologists, because there is a wealth of Islamic literature lauding al-fikr (there are even Islamic schools called Dar-al-Fikr!). Like many terms, al-fikr is ambiguous, and depends on context. In Islam it can mean "meditation" -- specifically and preeminently the meditation that the Muslim must cultivate to still the will and supplant his will with Allah's will, thus becoming totally slavish. So there is "good" fikr and "bad" fikr in Islam: the good fikr is a kind of mental exercise calculated to undo itself -- using thought against thought. The bad fikr is the thought that good fikr should struggle against and suppress, and it would of course include all thought that tries to keep the flame of the human will alive, since that is essentially evil in Islam and if allowed to follow its nature would go against the will of Allah.
The problem, at least stemming from sophisticated apologists who would be literate, is that at least on the surface, we find many articulations in Christian spiritual, intellectual and mystical history that resemble these Islamic ideas of al-fikr. The idea that God's will is supreme and that human will must conform to it in order to be rightly spiritual is a common idea throughout the history of Christendom. The saving grace in Christian thought on this matter is the parallel idea that the human will is, as a divine gift of creation, free and good in and of itself, and not something to be extinguished as a goal. This has set up an ongoing tension in Western thought: the tension between faith and reason. This tension has not always been fruitfully balanced in the West, and often there have been lurches to one side or the other, by Christians who would tend to denigrate human thought and human will on the one hand, and secularists who would tend to denigrate faith on the other hand; while many others have wrung their hands unable to harmonize faith and reason and painting themselves into a corner where the two become mutually contradictory.
However, this tension, with its inevitable imperfections (since this life is imperfect), overall has been good for the West and explains in part the West's amazing progress. Thank God the West does not have, as Islam does, a divine blueprint for solemnly and officially denigrating the human will and thus for suppressing any human thought considered to be expressive of that will. One could say that Satan, in devising Islam, felt it vitally important to include that clause that would move his Mohammedan minions to struggle daily and throughout all historical time against God's most precious creation: the human will in precisely its most exquisite beauty: its otherness from God and its everpresent ability, like the growing child the father loves to watch become its own being apart from him, to be contrarian and disobey.
God's hope and faith is that human will will return to him on its own and not by some coercion. While human will may go astray on its long journey outward, the hope is that the going astray will lead it back, even if it might be tempted by the various wiles of Satan along the way. While Satan may ensnare a few souls that way, Satan knows that the best way to maximize his profit share is to get humans to extinguish their wills, not let them free. And what better, more ingenious way to do this than to devise a mass ersatz religion that formulates the worship of God in terms of struggling against oneself as a struggle against Satan, in order to extinguish one's self and become a slave of God? The gullible human would thus be led like sheep to the slaughter to go precisely backwards away from salvation to his doom, in these reversed terms where Satan has become God and God Satan -- a reversal crucially dependant, of course, upon the human being duped. Satan doesn't mind being cursed and hated daily on the lips of his Mohammedan minions: in fact, he grins wickedly at the ingenious trick he has played on those creatures of the true God, possessing them to think they are cursing him and following the true God in order to cause them actually to do the exact opposite.
