Is it better to be given accolades for concessions and appeasement than to be derided and hated for standing up, however imperfectly, against the global jihad and Islamic supremacism?
"State Department Lauds Obama's Nobel Peace Prize by Making Jab at Bush," from
FOXNews, October 9 (thanks to Weasel Zippers):
In a clear dig at former President George W. Bush, a State Department spokesman compared President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize to the flying footwear his predecessor faced in Iraq."From our standpoint, you know, we think that this gives us a sense of momentum ... when the United States has accolades tossed its way, rather than shoes," State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley told reporters on Friday.
Crowley was referring to a 2008 incident in which an Iraqi reporter hurled his shoe at Bush during a news conference in Baghdad. The act of protest struck a chord with millions in the Arab and Muslim worlds who had been captivated and angered by daily images of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq.
Obama, who has publicly committed to improving America's image abroad, was named recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for, the Nobel committee said, his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism.....
it begins with the education of our children, and that is where Ayers spent the past 30 years, and Jennings and that is where the arabs a re pumping in millions
why bother buying airplanes
when the same amount of money can buy you Harvard and Yale?
and Notre Dame University
all our higher education is corrupted
Is it better to be given accolades for concessions and appeasement than to be derided and hated for standing up, however imperfectly, against the global jihad and Islamic supremacism?
The answer is obvious, Mr. Spencer, the answer is obvious, as is also the fact of what the cost will be for the President's pandering and appeasement to dictators, regimes and radical Islamists. And, naturally, it will be at America's expense; an obvious fact, too.

To me it’s a much greater honor to have a shoe thrown at me by a sadam loyalist than to be the hero of an elitist’s European committee. A group which just proved it is both unsympathetic to Americans who fight back sacrificing their lives for safety, and also tragically naive by believing they will make the World safer in the long run by appeasing evil with deceit
Yes. Now nobama can brag that he shares the same spot as Arafat.
Will he follow suit and make a speech at the Useless Nations with a pistol on his waist?
Now Obama hands are tied.By accepting such an award,he may
be forced to live up to the image of a peacemaker. How is he going to send more troops to Afghanistan or deal with Iran from a position of strength, when his foreign policy is going to be dictated by the 'peace movement'?
This award was given on the merits of naive, utopian views
Since the Norwegians seem to love the Jive-in-Chief so much,
I think Obama and his miscreant family should be deported
to Oslo(and he can keep the useless non-Prize). The European Left is so enamoured of a minority Leftwing windbag, then let them elect him Mahdi-in-Chief in THEIR
COUNTRIES (but of course talking about multiculturalism is one thing and acting on it is quite another) and keep Obama away from the US forever.
Day Dreams become Nightmares you cannot wake up from.
What peace maker? Recommendation for the award was in February just a month after it's inauguration and since he has accomplished nothing, nil, nada and will continue to do so as long as he cannot make a bloody decision.
Wow--Nobels are really cheap!

"State Department Lauds Obama's Nobel Peace Prize by Making Jab at Bush"
..................
This is hardly the first time. This, from 2002:
Reading out the announcement written by the five-person Nobel Committee, Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik said, "In a situation currently marked by threats of the use of power, Carter has stood by the principles that conflicts must as far as possible be resolved through mediation and international co-operation based on international law, respect for human rights, and economic development."
But the chairman of the Nobel Committee, Gunnar Berge, was far more direct in his statements to the press. He said the award "should be interpreted as a criticism of the line that the current administration has taken. It's a kick in the leg to all that follow the same line as the United States."
..................
To a lesser extent, Al Gore's winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 was another "kick in the leg" for Mr. Bush--as, in many ways, is this year's award to Barack Obama (this, despite the fact that Bush was not running for a third term--indeed, could not run for a third term).
Now, George Bush was hardly perfect--I have criticized him many times, especially on his ham-fisted understanding of the Jihad threat. But that the basically decent George Bush became--bizarrely--the shorthand for abuse of Western power, and a synonym for "Hitler", seems inexplicable to me.

I think we know what the answer from President Obama--and the Nobel Committee--would be.

"Geneva - Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi, who threw his shoes at former US President George W Bush, said he wants political asylum in Switzerland, a Swiss channel reported on Monday."
Maybe President Obama has an opening for this guy on his Cabinet? A new multicultural czar perhaps?
In '94 Yasser Arafat received the Nobel peace prize, as did Jimmy Carter in '02, so what does that tell you?
Check out the list of other strange bedfellows:

Poor Mother Theresa ...she truly deserved to be recognized, and yet here she is named among evildoers and power brokers -- tsk, tsk.

TOTAL: ONE HUNDRED TWENTY NINE!
Woohoo, go the Jews!!!
So let me see, that's 14,000,000 / 129 = 1 Nobel prize for every 108,527 Jews and 1,200,000,000 / 7 = 1 Nobel prize for every 171,428,571 Muslims, which makes Jews 1,579 times as clever as Muslims - Right?!
The Jews are NOT promoting the brain washing of children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslim infidels!
The Jews don't hijack planes, nor kill athletes at the Olympics, or blow themselves up in German restaurants. There is NOT one single Jew that has destroyed a church. There is NOT a single Jew that protests by killing people.
The Jews don't traffic slaves, nor have leaders calling for Jihad and death to all the Infidels.
Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in blaming the Jews for all their problems.
Muslims must ask 'what can they do for humankind' before they demand that humankind respects them!!
UN humanitarian chief John Holmes recently lamented that the UN has only received 3.8 million dollars since September 2 this year in response to a call for emergency funds of 23.5 million dollars to help Yemen's displaced people. This money comes from Western cultures of predominately Judeo/Christian ethics, whereas NOT ONE CENT was raised from the neighbouring Islamic oil-rich nations.
Regardless of your feelings about the crisis between Israel and their Palestinians and Arab neighbors, even if you believe there is more culpability on Israel 's part, the following two sentences really say it all:
"If the Arabs put down their weapons today, there would be no more violence.
If the Jews put down their weapons today, there would be no more Israel". - Benjamin Netanyahu
I'm not asking you to forward this.......on the other hand, IT WOULDN'T HURT IF YOU DID!
PS: The Muslims, using their always impeccable logic, would claim these statistics prove how discriminated against they really are!
Oh, and there was another prominent Jew in History, who gave His life for the people of the world. His name is... JESUS !!
Tell that to a muslim but check he's not armed first or you'll be the next Christian/Jewish martyr!
I would rather have a shoe tossed at me for being right, than having an award given to me for being wrong.
This Nobel for Obama may make it difficult for him to go along with his lead general's advice to substantially increase the number of troops in Afghanistan. Perhaps the Nobel committee, by awarding Obama for "peace", is trying to influence American policy (as they tried to do by awarding Al Gore and Jimmy Carter). But the committee probably think Obama's desires on foreign policy simply must be in accord with their own "enlightened" outlook on such things.

Sheik, thanks for your exhaustive list. I have one small correction--Ahmed Zewail did win the Nobel Prize in 1999--but for Chemistry.
He was born in Egypt, but conducted all his serious scientific education and research in the United States--mostly at my alma mater, UC Berkeley, and at Caltech.
He is generally considered more Egyptian-American than Egyptian.

Our elite bit the hand of Mr. Bush, who fed it; now it kisses the shoe thrown at him (and itself).
"One Peace Laureate has Declined the Nobel Peace Prize"
"The Vietnamese politician Le Duc Tho, awarded the 1973 Nobel Peace Prize jointly with US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, is the only person who has declined the Nobel Peace Prize. They were both awarded the Prize for negotiating the Vietnam peace accord. Le Doc Tho said that he was not in a position to accept the Prize, citing the situation in Vietnam as his reason."
"The Vietnam Conflict (1959-1975), was fought between the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam) and the United States-supported Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam). The Southern and American forces were defeated and the war ended with unification of Vietnam under the communist government of the North."
http://nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/peace/shortfacts.html
Le Duc Tho did the noble thing by NOT accepting the Nobel Peace Prize given the unresolved conflict in Vietnam; which clearly should have been Obama's response. Come on, O, do the right thing and follow Tho's example, because all you'll provided thus far is lip service towards peace. What peace? ...if anything things are more dangerous NO THANKS TO YOU!
Well said Sheik, and I am not even Jewish.Don't forget Jewish
contribution to sports and entertainment.Without the Jews, life in the West would be dull.
