Twin suicide car bombings in Baghdad kill at least 100

With this, the jihadists aim to demonstrate they can still attack high-value (and what should be highly secure) targets. The selection of targets -- the "Baghdad governate building" and Justice ministry -- underscores the jihadists' intention of imposing Sharia law: Though Iraq's constitution says that "no law that contradicts the established provisions of Islam may be established," those who want Sharia are not inclined to be satisfied with a partial or symbolic implementation -- something the West should stop to consider as well.

"Death toll past 100 in Baghdad bombings," by Jomana Karadesh for CNN, October 25:

Baghdad, Iraq (CNN) -- At least 108 people were killed and 512 wounded in twin suicide car bombings near government offices in central Baghdad on Sunday morning, officials said.
The death toll was the worst in a single incident in Iraq for many months.
Two car bombs detonated in quick succession near Iraqi government buildings about 10:30 a.m., an Interior Ministry official said.
One of the bombs exploded outside Baghdad's governorate building and the second one outside the Justice Ministry, about 500 meters (1,600 feet) away.
Plumes of smoke billowed from the sites of the attacks as victims fled, some with blood streaming down their faces. The streets were strewn with debris, including charred cars and chunks of concrete from damaged buildings. Some government buildings and others in the area were heavily damaged.
Sunday's attacks came a day after Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, completed a two-day visit to Iraq that included a stop at the nearby Foreign Ministry.
An Iraqi official said the government was working to bolster security, but regional cooperation was needed to help fight suicide bombers.
"We are calling on international and U.N. envoys to come and find out why Iraq is being targeted this way," said Ali al-Dabbagh, the Iraqi government spokesman....

another sign that Iraq will implode on our departure

another sign that Iraq will implode on our departure

hmmm....how did that happen?

You don’t mean to tell me that Muslims are still killing Muslims? After all the money, lives, and treasure spent by western nations to democratize Iraq?

Why would they do such a thing? Could it be because one group of Muslims thinks that another group is not Islamic enough? That’s only been going on since Islam began, so surely our strategic planners foresaw this as a possibility? They didn’t?

I’m simply gobsmacked!

Back in 2003, there were those with an historic perspective - Daniel Pipes for instance - who suggested the US should replace Saddam with an America-friendly (Sunni) "strongman." I thought this was sound advice at the time.

I've been sceptical of Bush's utopian vision for the spread of democracy in the region. Look who the Palestinians chose in the 2006 elections to represent them; Hamas jihadists. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon advised Bush back then against occupying Iraq; he advised Bush to not pursue his vision for the spread democracy in the Middle East, suggesting that Arab society and Arab culture are not ready for democracy.

I would add that Islam itself is not ready for democracy.

If Afghanistan and Iraq are Sharia or quasi-Sharia states, then why fight the insurgents when they just want to install their own version of a Sharia state? Isn't that the goal of Jihad? Unwittingly, we have aided that goal.
Okay, the Taliban and Al Qaeda are more extreme than the present regimes, but any Islamic regime always has the potential to become more extreme in time.
Our mistake was not drawing a red line around a secular state initially and then fighting to defend it.

I noticed the MSM refers to the civilian victims when killed by Muslims as "victims", not as civilians as when civilians are reported "killed" by non Muslims...

www.veteranoutrage.com

This is sick..
Im sorry i was furious at the Islamic nazis..

They target anyone who opposes them
Kinda like obama and the democrats..

Except these mass murdering monsters
kill women children heck earthworms
in order to satisfy the blood lust of Islam

Islam the religion of pieces
spawned from the pitts of HELL
by satan himself
and then handed to a guillible child molester
named mohammed..

Islam is a disease..
and all who folow it are infected..

Im sorry if that is too harsh but it is the truth..
I will not trust any muslim
I cannot take that risk..

Mohammedans kill other Mohammedans. Islam the violent and murderous ideology. As long as Mohammedans kill each other it is better for non Muslims. Islam needs human blood. Allah wishes. Inshallah fatalism. How pathetic is Islam and the Mohammedans? Very!

"We are calling on international and U.N. envoys to come and find out why Iraq is being targeted this way," said Ali al-Dabbagh, the Iraqi government spokesman....

We haven't left yet, and already they want us back? Iraq's future is a Doomsday scenario, same as the rest of Islam and its 'sharia' Arab world. Why them? Because they are not 'Islamic' enough in the eyes of the suicidal barbarians. UN can do nothing.

Fox News Is now reporting a death toll of at least 136.

Here are several graphic photos of the carnage from FOX News:

I thought this mission was long since accomplished?

What are the odds that the bombers and the victims use the same Qur'an to pray from while trying to live from its teachings...Allah knows best...and he hates Muslims...he kills both the attackers and the attackees...

Muslims killing Muslims. Same old, same old.

What's new?

It's not so much that Islam is not ready for democracy as it is that Islam cannot coexist with democracy. The two are oil and water.
Islam doesn't recognize the rights of minorities. It doesn't allow for competing views. Opposition is illegitimate. Either you follow the koran or you are not worth protecting. You risk losing your life under sharia.
Islam and democracy cannot coexist in the same country without one of them losing all meaning.
Can Islam exist without sharia?
Can democracy exist without freedom to challenge the status quo?

Wild Jew. Pres. Bush was just about as down on the Knee as any President could be, to get the Sunni's in power, to get rid of Saddam. They chose otherwise. Look where it got them.

There wasn't much left as an option other than try and establish a form of Democracy in Iraq. Bush was President, not Obama. As things turned out, an awful lot of people didn't give a hoot about Democracy either. Making prevailing wisdom rather self fulfilling in it's outcome.

In a War of Civilization, Cultural and Religious differences, Always make sure you devalue your own Ideals as worthy and unattainable along the road to Victory.

WWII would never have ended had Japan never been made to view the world differently.

Notice lately that elections are only "fair" if they elect an enemy and Corrupt when electing a friend. It doesn't seem to matter the "fairness" or level of "corruption". It's the outcome that determines it.

yep, the peaceful religion of Islams calling card...

Peaceful co-existence is Un-Islamic
