I hope we all, atheist, Wiccan (we do have one here, no?) Jew, and Christian alike, join in complaining to the company if they don't print MERRY _CHRISTMAS_ on their flyers next month.

It's not personal, it's just business...Best Buy is just another money whore trying to get people to buy their junk...
Happy Eid al-Adha addicts have bucks to spend...'get their money' is the motto...It's got little to do with Islam, but everything to do with George Washingtons...

If Best Buy, an economic enterprise unswayed by appeals to morality or a larger good, learns that by this bubble -- within the larger "Happy Thanksgiving" ad -- of Happy Eiidd al-Adha, it likely loses more customers, nation-wide, than it gains locally, it will stop this kind of thing. And more importantly, others will not follow suit. If, for example,restaurants or foodstores learn that they will not widen their customer base if they carry the sign "Halal" some, at least, may decide, prudently, not to carry such a sign.

If you don't like this eid within the ad business, here's what you must do: let Best Buy know you will not be shopping there, and let them know why. Give them a verse or two -- 9.5 or 9.29 will do nicely -- from the Qur'an, and suggest that you don't think those who believe such passages are, like the rest of the Qur'an, the literal and uncreated Word of God should have their holiday recognized, not least because, in Islam, it is strictly forbidden for Muslims to give the slightest sign of recognition of the holidays of others, much less to participate in them or offering greetings to Christians, to Jews, to Hindus, to all others, on the holidays observed in their faiths.

It's preposterous, who cares about this eid? We celebrate Chanukkah or Christmas and I accept any Hindu or Buddhist holiday, but no headbanger celebrations.

Belgium has just decieded to accept it this year by telling Mohammedans they can take their animals to central sarifice-places. Yes, this was a bloody post. But I get bloody annoyed at the sheer mention of Eid al-Adha and dimwhitted ads from clueless people. "Oh yeah, Muslims are people with holidays just like us."

Canned response with a tickle. I never said I was "offended" by the "ad insert", but asked why a salutation to a specific "religious" group was offered instead of a general happy holidays to all.

Thanks Im mad as Hell -- but I don't think people like Kathy Cassidy can be explained solely in terms of 1) bottom line financial decisions and 2) suburban tunnel vision getting through the week. Neither #1 nor #2 would be sufficient, for example, if Kathy knew that the group she was supporting were white KKK. She would pull the plug in a New York second. So in my view there is a more complex psycho-social thing going on here to explain how so many millions of reasonably intelligent people throughout the West are behaving like idiots about Islam.

Do you people know what Eid Al-Adha is and how it is celebrated? Do you care?

It is definitely a "hands on" celebration in which male muslims brutally slaughter goats, sheep, and lambs in the most cruel, inhumane method imaginable. If goats, sheep, or lambs are not available, most any helpless animal will suffice for this blood-letting ritual. They slit the animal's throat, just like they slit the throats of their enemies before they behead them, and allow them to die slow, agonizing deaths. They encourage their children to dip their hands in the sacrificial blood and create bloody handprints for posterity.

In heavily populated islamic enclaves, rivers of blood flow across lawns and into public streets, violating sanitation regulations and city codes related to noxious, offensive, and dangerous activities. Despite the vulgar, barbaric, and despicable nature of these primitive activities, they are largely ignored due to pressure from muslim advocacy groups and the radical advocates of multiculturalism and political correctness.

I have purchased many expensive items from Best Buy over the years but if you see fit to recognize a barbaric islamic blood-letting ritual and refuse to mention the word "Christmas", I will never shop at Best Buy again. Recent statistics indicate that 78% of Americans call themselves "Christians" and the muslim population in the United States is less than 2%.

Which will be the first major chain store to collapse at the altar of diversity and multiculturalism? Which CEO is more enthralled with political correctness than money? Who is willing to die fighting for the dubious ideal of a heterogeneous,polyglot society and cultural relativism? I can't wait to see.
