"If you are here, I could not leave you alive."
"Don't dismiss honour killing claim: judge," by Kenyon Wallace for the National Post, November 24 (thanks to Kim):
A Federal Court judge has ordered the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration to consider the credibility of a woman's claim that she will be the victim of an "honour killing" if deported to her home country of Pakistan.Justice Michael Kelen found that an immigration officer reviewing evidence in the case of Roohi Tabassum, a 44-year-old Mississauga hair stylist who has been fighting to stay in Canada since 2001, made a mistake by characterizing as "not threatening" letters purportedly from Ms. Tabassum's husband in which he promised to "finish" Ms. Tabassum if she returned to Pakistan.
According to documents submitted to Citizenship and Immigration obtained by the National Post, Ms. Tabassum claims her husband, Faisal Javed, thought to be living in Dubai, began sending her letters and emails in 2006 in which he threatens to kill her for "dishonouring" his family by touching other men's hair while working at a Mississauga salon.
She also claims her husband and his family have become erroneously convinced that she is living with another man in Canada, after a friend's husband answered the phone at her apartment one night.
"What you are doing there, does it look better to you and does your religion allow you to touch other men? It is better to die hungry," says one 2006 letter translated from Urdu and allegedly written by Mr. Javed.
"Tell me everything true otherwise you know that I can do anything for my honour. Do you know how much I believed in you? Other than this you are also aware that your life is seriously in danger in Pakistan.... Everybody is against you. I am also very combative to you. If you are here, I could not leave you alive."
After asking her husband for a divorce, Ms. Tabassum received another letter dated February 2007 in which Mr. Javed alledgedly writes: "My doubts about you are real and right but keep this in mind that now I will finish you myself."...
The judge referred the case to another officer and suggested a hearing to "determine if these documents containing the threats are credible, or self-serving documents created by persons close to the applicant to buttress her case to be allowed to remain in Canada."
If the letters are found not to be credible, Ms. Tabassum will be deported.
If she had been a licensed massage therapist.......... What am I saying? We are talking about an Islamic "Republic" here. I can almost hear Abdullah Bhullah screaming "haram"!
As fantastic as this story sounds to the Canadian court, this is just daily life in the "land of the pure" and any other Islamic countries that are ruled by shariah law. Muslimahs are nothing but the slaves of their husbands. If hubby decides that wifey is "dishonoring" him, out come the deadly weapons.
You don't think the husband was jealous of the fact that his wife's clients had more hair than he did, do you?
Yes, they're making it all up. You know...they're always making up hate crimes to claim victim status.
Please. Like there isn't any precedent for what she's claiming. Maybe they've got Florida's Children's Services on the case.
Frankly, I'm amazed at this.
On a game I've been playing (http://www.uwars.com) I've been vilified every time the subject of terrorism or other forms of Islamic supremacy/idiocy comes up, being bombarded with the usual cries of "racism!" whenever I try to explain what the motives of these people are.
If you're interested in joining me there, mail Time Lord, and I'll get you an alliance, even if I have to make my own. ;)
I usually post this question when confronted with the unending cry of "racism" - "And what race is Islam?'

Well, they probably don't have as much *body hair*, but I take your point.
Seriously, though, even after the brutal murder of Aqsa Pervez in the same area of suburban Toronto, and all the disturbing cases out of Britain and the States, I'm sure that many Canadian officials are rather incredulous that a woman could have her life under threat from her ex-husband and *his entire family* for working as a hair stylist.
Westerners have to wise up fast, though, or there are going to be a lot more dead women on their watch.
No one else is going to protect them if we cannot.
Yeah, I get no reply when I do that. Wonder why.

This judge obviously doesn't read the paper. "self-serving" documents.....yeah, she would set this all up way back in 2001 and continue it over the past 8 years. Spit.
When we need a judge to be sensible, we don't seem to get it. When we get 75 Tamil fighters sailing in on a boat claiming refugee status (all well fed, healthy and rich enough to pay 45 grand for the trip) we welcome them with open arms.
Go figure....
Why do the pork munchers move to other countries and behave as if they were back in the horror they fled from??
Many years ago I visited Mississauga and was taken to a lap dancing club (honest I tried to resist).
I was totally bemused by the sight of blokes paying women to dance around them, the beer was dammed expensive to.
I got chatting to one of the girls who was South Asian and the story she told about herself was amazing.
She was from Alberta, Canadian born, father moslem from pakistan.
When she got to 14 he started demanding she cover up, pray and told her she would woon be flying to pakistan to marry a cousin, she resited until she was 17-18, left home, went to Toronto and was dancing to pay her way through university.
She was was very bright and smart.
Why do they leave their islamic paradises ????
Why do they leave their islamic paradises ????
The grass is greener in the infidel paradise?
Yeah i read about this strorey a few years ago.
I read how the woman's brother was ready to fight for her.
Too bad spencer left that out.
This sounds like a case for Pamela Geller.
If there's anyone on this continent that can fight for the rights of Islamic women it is Pam.
Go get 'em Pam!
If women like this are to be offered asylum, then I do have one suggestion: get Wafa Sultan, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Nonie Darwish to put together an 'Apostasy Pack', comprising a 'deprogramming course' which the lady or girl *must* undertake, and complete, if she accepts the offer. I think those three formidable ex-Muslim ladies (two atheists, one Christian, all of them with training in psychology, and Sultan a psychiatrist) could draw on their own experiences of what worked to crack *them* out of Islam, to compile something that might help do the same for others.
in Canada all she need do is dress up as a seal pup ready for slaughter and she will have droves of crying Canadians to save her from a real death.
What is she doing in Canada in the first place. How come her husband allowed her to travel alone if he is a Muslim. How come the immigration official could not tell the letters were threatening. She asks for a divorce after 6 years of this rubbish ? Some funny stuff going on here !
