Be thankful that you are breathing.
Jihad attacks and attempted attacks inside the U.S. have sharply increased. In response, the entire government and media establishment hastens to assure the world that the root cause is not the root cause. And the President of the United States rushes to make more concessions to the jihadis and their sponsors and allies. Eight years after 9/11, and fewer people than ever know or care about what we are really up against.
But...you are alive. You are breathing. You can read this. You are not beaten.
Be thankful. Be thankful that you understand freedom and are determined to defend it. Be thankful that you understand Islamic supremacism, and are determined to resist it.
For therein lies your victory, and mine, and that of every free individual. The game is far from over. Be thankful for that.
And act.
Quoting from the movie Starman:
Starman: Shall I tell you what I find beautiful about you? You are at your very best when things are worst.
Don't worry Mr. Spencer, undaunted from FreeMenDo, Infidel Akbar, and others are here to help - you are not alone.
As usual, we'll eat fish for Thanksgiving, as the Pilgrims probably did. Anyway, the way they behead those turkeys...it's too koranic for my taste.
A Blessed Happy Thanksgiving To You Robert And To All Jihadwatch Staff And Posters!
We're all with you Robert. Together, we will prevail. I am so happy the day I came across your website. This, along with some other books from other authors, cleaned up all my queries about what we're facing and what needs to be done.
RS
My respect and gratitude.
And happy thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving, Robert, Hugh, Marisol, the rest of the JW staff, as well as the JW readers/posters!!!
I'm thankful for Jihad Watch, for Mr. Spencer's untiring efforts against global jihad, and for Hugh, Marisol and all the posters at JW.
Wishing all my friends in the USA, and all your troops everywhere, a very Happy Thanksgiving.
In a world where the media is controlled by the great finger pointer and self proclaimed good guys, who then need to use media propaganda and sensortization of their rape, plunder, massacre and indiscriminate killing of civilians. Its refreshing to get a piece of journalism that is journalism in its truest form, brave, investigative and with no preset agenda until the work has been done. Please watch for a truth unknown

Happy Thanksgiving Robert Hugh Marisol and fellow posters..also Congratulations on winning 2009's Best Overall North American Infidel Blogger Award! and a HUGE THANK YOU for your stupendous defiance and forthright work and courage on the Rifqa Bary case and all that you do. You guys ROCK!

Robert, I am thankful for this community of sensible people who can see the spade as a spade and call it a spade without fear.
I am thankful for people like you and the staffers of JW and many others like you who stand tall and fearless and who can speak the truth in a sea of dhimmitude.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you and the posters here.
Sorry for the earlier post. I was just trying out my keyboard.
Please watch for a truth unknown
Is the truth about the pack of murderous cult-following zombies and brainless journalists UNKNOWN?
To whom?
The truth is discovered in many ways, just watch the actions of people to help you discover it...
Happy Thanksgiving to all...
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers and commenters (non-U.S. readers, I hope you have a great day as well). I hope you've all got a day of good food and good company (and football) ahead of you.
I'm grateful to be a part of this organization, and for the opportunity to do what I can for the cause and the privilege of working in the company of Robert and Hugh.
When I'll need help discovering additional truth about taliban or izlum I'll pick the source of information myself.
Otherwise, thank you.
As a non-US reader I say: Thank God for America.
You have been our most faithful ally and leader in the war against the forces of evil we had to face in the 20th century.
A new evil is threatening the mankind in this 21 century. We, free people of Europe, indeed the whole world, look for your example and leadership in that battle.
Happy Thanksgiving Day, America.
For the sake of us all - GOD BLESS YOU.
Be thankful that you are breathing.
I like breathing a lot...It's one of my favorite things to do...I have been breathing for quite some time now, I don't even think about it, it just comes naturally... I'm a little self defensive about it...I take a dim view of those who would stop me from breathing...Many have tried, but so far none have been successful...not even Allah...
I am thankful for the god of breathing...I thank him with every breath...As long as I can keep doing that I'm in good shape...
May The Lord bless you and keep you, Mr. Spencer.
May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. The real peace.
I'm thankful that the world still has people with courage and conviction and you are the first to come to mind, sir. The world will be a better place for your efforts. You have my best wishes for you and your family on this day and the rest to come.
We're thankful for many things Robert, not least of all, you, your courage, and your unwavering dedication. While the rest of us make our scant contributions to the cause from the safety of our anonymity, you've become the public face of the anti-Jihad.
We're all indebted to you. May God watch over you and guide your steps.
PS - A Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Yanks here at JW. What an eclectic, motley crew we are.
As a Brit
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It's a beautiful fall day, a perfect day to appreciate and give thanks for our many blessings.
I guess our patriotic muslim citizens are seething in silence at the fanfare surrounding this infidel holiday; they so despise our celebrations. Maybe they're ramping up for their one of their favorite pastimes---slaughtering animals for Eid. Not as much fun as slaughtering infidels but the blood looks the same. What a shame that islam lurks in the shadows of our most revered traditions and holidays, a dark and threatening menace that would have been unthinkable twenty years ago. That is the price we pay for multiculturalism, a scourge invented and imposed by elitist social engineers and meekly accepted by the malleable masses. When the islamic world embraces multiculturalism, religious freedom, and diversity, I might reconsider my antipathy for it.
Thank God for JihadWatch and open minded people. Sooner or later the apologies, excuses, lies, and propaganda about islam will be seen for what they are, thanks to people like Mr. Spencer, Hugh, Marisol, and those who took the time to listen, learn, and inform others. It is heartening to know that not everyone has been poisoned by political correctness to the point of being deaf, dumb, and blind but the social engineers will never give up. Don't let your children become victims of this insidious plague.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all....
I couldn't have better neighbors :)
Enjoy the turkey and the football, and most of all, the freedom to enjoy both.
I am thankful for JW and the tireless efforts of Robert, Hugh and Marisol.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all and all the commenters and lurkers here in the JW community.
As a Brit I too say Happy Thanksgiving to all our friends in the land of Uncle Sam.
Thanks to all the staunch JW principals and contributors who have been raising awareness of the Jihad threat throughout the west, aided by the work of that great Brit: Tim Berners-Lee.
When I first came across this site some years ago, I knew that something was wrong with our society in the UK. Then I began to study what was on the site. At first with scepticism, then with a growing conviction that what was being said was correct. I then began to read all the classics Spencer, Hussain, Steyn et al. I now have quite a collection of anti-jihad literature and an understanding of the issues and the massive threat that all of western civilisation faces. I cannot say it has been easy to face the truth and sometimes its downright depressing. However, we must carry on - we have no choice.
May God Bless you Mr Spencer and all your dedicated team.
THANKYOU
Happy Thanksgiving.
Ericthekuffar
To Robert, Hugh, Marisol, et al., and all you regular and semi-regular posters whose comments are so intelligent, informed, and edifying: Be blessed, and may your words and deeds to save our civilization from barbarism be remembered forever.
Patton poem excerpt:
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.
And I see not in my blindness
What the objects were I wrought,
But as God rules o'er our bickerings
It was through His will I fought.
So forever in the future,
Shall I battle as of yore,
Dying to be born a fighter,
But to die again, once more.
Happy Thanksgiving and God's blessing and protection on all JW folk of good will.
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks to JW!
We just finished our fish feast.
Do you know what the fisherman's wife said to her husband? "Not tonight, dear, I have a haddock."
Thomas,
Thanks for the good wishes. The people of Europe need to understand that we can't fight this battle alone. We need the people of Europe to help us. We need one another. America is not invincible. It's not all-powerful. We do what we can but we can't do it all. We need all the help Europeans can give us. Thank you.
I am thankful for so much, my family, health, opportunity. Among the things I am most thankful for is that I live in a free country. I can worship as I please without fear of opression. I am thankful that the women in my family are treated as equals. I am thankful for our military who protects our country's interests overseas, and for our police who protect us at home. I am thankful for those people who will fight on behalf of the freedoms that we as Americans enjoy. As my mother says, God helps those who help themselves. May we as free people do what it takes to help ourselves. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Happy Thanksgiving to Robert, Hugh, Marisol and all at JW. I wish to echo Thomas_h above in saying "Thank God for America" and also say "God Bless America"
Black is the new white, up is the new down, and touchy-feely relativism trumps deductive reasoning in post-Christian western culture. Through it all, JW, beyond being the only bastion of clear thinking in regard to the worldwide jihad, is also one of the few places in modern media where objective truth is held as precious in its own right. Thanks Robert, Hugh, Marisol and the rest of the staff for your courage and clear thinking. And happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Robert and all JW contributors. You are the Thomas Paine of our time.
Your last sentence says it all for me, though: "And act." if all we do is talk, no amount of education about the dangers of Islam will matter. We must act. Fortunately for those of us in America (including Canada) there is an organization that is "acting." It is ACT! for America; wwwactforamerica.org
Brigitte Gabriel founded it just 2 years ago, and in that short time we have grown to 335 chapters and 78,000 members nationwide. I'm an early member and now a chapter leader where I live. Civilus Defendus, who often posts here is also one of our members.
One of our most important current projects is a petition drive to get the US Congress to investigate the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) for illegal and seditious activities. This is a reaction to the newly published book, "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America." It's a "must read" for all of you.
Please consider visiting ACT's Web site and sign our petition. The personal information requested there is necessary to validate that you are a real person and no ACORN-like shenanigans are happening. A chapter leaders' conference call reassured us that that information is ultra-secure and never shared with any outside persons or organizations.
Also please consider joining ACT! for America as a volunteer. Your actual level of "commitment" (involvement) in a local chapter will always be up to you. The more members we have, the more political power we can exert.
To check for a local chapter, go to our home page, put your cursor on "Local Chapters" at the top, then click on "Find Your Local Chapter." When the map appears click on the state where you live, and a list of existing chapters will be displayed.
Happy Thanksgiving. And ACT!
TH
I'm an Australian, and hadn't had that much contact with Americans until I began reading here, so 'Thanksgiving Greetings' are an entirely new thing to me.
But anyway, here goes: I hope the Jihadwatch team and their friends and families, and all United States 'regulars' at this comments floor, have a lovely peaceful Thanksgiving; and I hope and pray that by the mercy and grace of a loving God, there will be many more such celebrations in times to come.
Mr Spencer - and Marisol, and Hugh, and others less well known on the jihadwatch board (or who have been part of the team in the past and then moved on to other fronts in the battle) - I thank God for you, and you are all much in my prayers.
Also in my prayers are many of the American posters whom I have met and gotten to know on this comments floor: a special Thanksgiving greeting to duh swami, alaskan infidel (just in case you're lurking here - haven't seen you here much, mate - hope you're OK), isabellathecrusader, gravenimage, undaunted, our favourite apostate Bosch Fawstin (hope you've got some people to feast with), joeblough, johncbarile, Cornelius, Wellington, btilly (our African-American feisty fighter with a flaming tongue who has no intention of being duped and enslaved by Muslims), wreckerboy (haven't seen you around much, hope you're doing well, and spreading the Bad News about Islam among the First Nations folk), pulsar182, gymgal, Eastview, Davegreybeard, Hesperado, susanp, mgoldberg..,I'm sure I'm leaving people out, but that's just some of the names I keep an eye out for, when I step onto the comments floor here in Mr Spencer's virtual Hedge School for the Resistance to Jihad and Sharia.
I love you guys.
Hang in there; keep trying, keep fighting, keep educating your fellow citizens; and I'll pray the good Lord to raise you up a worthy President and a bunch of Senators and Congresspeople who can lead you - and all the rest of the free non-Muslim world - intelligently and boldly in the charge against the Third Jihad.
The people of Europe need to understand that we can't fight this battle alone. We need the people of Europe to help us. We need one another.
I assure you that there are very few Europeans who, while aware of the diabolic nature of islam, don't understand that we need to fight the battle together. True, there are those who hate the West and wish its demise even at the price of dhimmitude and those who lost all hope and think the resistance is futile.
But majority is not passive. There is growing, seething amorphous anger which may eventually crystallize into a coherent focussed action when the situation is right. When the spark comes it will galvanize both you and us and we will say to each other: let's roll!
To the titular quote I would add:
"To breathe is to judge." (Respirer, c'est juger. )
-- Albert Camus, L'homme révolté
From me (a UK citizen who sometimes wishes her great-grandfather hadn't come back from Massachusetts!), I hope everyone Stateside is having a great time.
Thank you, Robert, Hugh, Marisol et al for all the work you do and to all the commenters who provide such insight on the state of the world today.
Thanks, dumbledoresarmy, you are among the best of posters who give me hope that I'm not alone and crazy in this mad PC world.
thanks dda, I always love reading your posts :)
Happy Thanksgiving, all!
Dumbledore,
Thank you, dear, for that nice and meaningful Thanksgiving post. A heartfelt Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours from outside Washington, D.C.
I've been ill off and on for the past three months, getting over one illness and then catching another. I am home alone today, down with bronchitis that I am diligently trying to avoid turning into pneumonia. My kids took the creamed corn and a mince pie (for my mom, who knows nobody else likes it but she's 84 and probably doesn't have many Thanksgivings left so she can have a mince pie...she likes fruitcake too...yuck!) and I've had a quiet day just resting and watching old movies.
Last night when I realized I was not going to be able to make it to dinner at my brother's house I was a little bummed but also felt that everything would be okay. Today when I woke up I had an overwhelming feeling of gratitude and thankfulness that has made the day wonderful.
In the past few weeks I have met amazing people who love this country and who are willing to stand up and fight for it. I am thankful that they found out they are not alone and that if we come together, and we are, we are strong as a group and we can overcome. At the Rifqa Rally in Ohio I was fortunate enough to eat dinner with Robert and Andy Bostom and a whole table of patriots who came from near and far to defend the life of a little girl we've all fell in love with since the summer. None of the other people at the table have ever met Rifqa, but we came together in Christian charity to see what we could do to help. Now that's the America I know and love!
I have been fortunate this year in that all my children are well and thriving (and struggling sometimes, but that's healthy) in their chosen professions. My mom has had a great attitude and continues to be a cheerful soul in my crazy life as we approach the first anniversary of my dad's death in a few days. I know he is well and taken care of and for that I am grateful. In the midst of economic woes, the dismantling of my country's freedoms and the rise of socialism here, which is nerve wracking, as I've contemplated these things this year I realize that it will always be the best of times and the worst of times and it doesn't really matter what the individual circumstance actually is at the time, be it the French Revolution, WWII or the coming to New York of Islamic cowards and terrorists to make a mockery of our legal system. No, it only matters what our reaction is and what we do as a response to those who would lay tyranny over us like a wet blanket. Will we lay down and accept it or will we gather our courage, throw it off and find a way to stop it from spreading, inspiring others as we go?
If Thanksgiving Day is any indication, I believe it will be the latter. What other holiday, besides Christmas, motivates people to get on an airplane for a long journey over a weekend so that they can be close to family and be near home and hearth? Thanksgiving Day has it's own spirit, it is alive, and it's the one day a year when we stop to think about how much we have been given, and also how much we have to lose. Plus for our European, Australian and all our other friends who gather here, you just haven't lived until you've walked into a house with the turkey full of cornbread stuffing cooking in the oven, (the smell is amazing,) all the side vegetables dressed in there finest with sauces, creams and cheeses, spicy pumpkin breads, beautiful pies, my favorite wine, my brother's cappucino machine and my sister-in-law's French pralines, just to name a few. The food is bountiful, the company is bountiful and our blessings are bountiful.
Even though I can't be there this year, I am glad to be here with all of you. For all of the above, and for all of you here, I am truly thankful.
Love,
Isabella
Bless you Isabella - thank you for such a sweet reply. I will pray your bronchitis heals quickly.
Thanks, dda, for your Thanksgiving message to us Yanks. Much appreciated as are your first-rate posts. And best to every regular poster here at JW who knows what lurks out there for us in Islamland if we're not vigilant. Again we can see plainly that what is best about America has nothing, absolutely nothing, to do with Islam. Happy Thanksgiving to all who mean America well.
Isabella-- Feel better!
Great stuff Dumbledores and Isabella. You're both treasures.
I spent Thanksgiving with my little nuclear family. We gorged on food and football...and then, lo and behold, watched 'Not Without My Daughter' which just happened to be on. Both my wife and daughter were reminded anew how blessed they are to live in a country where women are free to realize their potential as human beings.
Long haired, unshaven, sports-loving, beer-drinking, knuckle-dragging conservative that I am, I find great comfort in the improbable fact that I'm indeed a feminist, in the truest sense of the word. On this Thanksgiving, I give thanks to God for women everywhere.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Had wine with my turkey, stuffing, etc. My deepest thanks to our soldiers who keep us free and police/firemen who keep us safe.
I was pleasantly surprised my family, in particular my baby brother, now calls the former war on terror a "Religious War" of Islam on the rest of us. I thought I would fall over in dead shock, but yes, he hit it right didn't he.
Many Thanks to our Great God and Provident Father; my best wishes to you, DDA, glad to be remembered among friends. --john c. barile
I love you, too, DDA! --john c. barile
Happy Thanksgiving to you Robert Spencer,
and To All Jihadwatch Staff... & Posters...
A Great day it was except for the Giants!
Yes, just reading some of the posts here let us know that we are in good company!
(A needle for our PC friends)
You might think you're a real straight arrow,
But PC means your thinking is narrow.
Your explanations for danger
Are getting longer and stranger;
And you put doom into dum spiro spero.
Montedoro
at the Jihadwatch virtual party you have now stood up on the table and recited. Applause!
I hope you are keeping copies of all those little satirical limericks you have been writing over the past few months. I particularly liked the one you did in the wake of Fort Hood. The thing is - the best of them *work* as political poetry. They're *good*. I'm not sure how many you've done by now, but at this rate you ought to have enough for a little anthology - put the best ones together and *publish* them.
Until that happens, *I* at least will set up an e-file labelled 'Montedoro limericks' and put all your little gems in one place so that I can enjoy them more easily.
Thank you for your kind words, dda, and for your well-written & to-the-point informed contributions. And also thanks to the other serious and bon-mot writers here.
Indeed, I do have more of same, and I kind of wait for a situation to appear to toss one in, or when a new type of event occurs, I try to put a limerick together to nail it. At the risk of flippancy in the face of horror I believe as Mark Twain did, that you can weaken the enemy with laughter.
Here are a few oldies; I don't even remember if I sent any of them here before.
International events are so numbing,
With increasingly militant drumming.
But you should get a stiff fine
When you carry a sign
That says “Europe, your holocaust’s coming.”
Universities are hard to forgive,
When their students demean how we live.
A Jihadist leaning
Gives this statement new meaning:
"I came here to take Western Civ."
Why won't mainstream media note
The verses that Mohammed wrote:
You damned infidel,
We'll send you to Hell
And we'll smite you until you are smote.
Consider the Limerick Islamic;
It's not conflagration atomic.
But you'll see what you've got
When they issue a fat-
Wa to honor your verses demonic.
=======================================
Wishing a peaceful weekend to all!
I'm a little late, but I'd like to give thanks as well for this site ... an enclave of sanity and reason in a world over run with PC idiocy. You people here are a breath of fresh air, like light in darkness.
Thanks
