And the talking heads are saying how good it is that he is alive, as it will provide an opportunity for him to be questioned about why he did this. Jihad? Pah! "Army: Ft. Hood suspect still alive," from WISH, November 5:
KILLEEN, Texas (KXAN/AP/MSNBC) - Major Malik Nidal Hasan, accused of killing 12 and wounding 31 in an attack at Fort Hood on Thursday, is alive and in stable condition, Lt. Gen. Bob Cone said at an 8:30 p.m. news conference.Counter to initial reports, the 39-year-old psychiatrist - who was thought to be killed by local police - is hospitalized and not expected to die of gunshots sustained during the 1:30 p.m. attack. The local police officer who allegedly shot Hasan and injured him is in the hospital also in stable condition.
Cone also told reporters that Hasan was carrying one handgun and one semi-automatic weapon. But the fact that there were so many injured, apparently by one man, "counter-intuitively is concern," Cone said - spurring officials to continue their investigation to make sure they haven't missed any other shooters. Two soldiers were questioned earlier in the day and then released, determined not to have been involved, officials said....
Army CID at FHTX doesn't neeeeeed the FBI to assist. It is protocol that CID notify the FBI when there is a major felony committed on any federal installation.
Army CID is a combination of what one sees on NCIS and CSI, with bodyguarding and combat missions in the mix as well. My guess is that CID had this just about wrapped up before they even called the Fan Belt Inspectors.
However, if the jihadi motivation angle is dismisssed as the investigation moves forward and the case heads for court, it's the FBI who will be calling that shot.
Ban all muslims from our military! PERIOD.
Can the government and MSM sweep this under the rug? Not if this guy crows about his islamic motivations as we all know muslims are want to do. Please, Mr. Hasan, run your mouth - I think Americans need to hear what you have to say.
And, the reason LTG Cone did not say anything about the shooter other than his current status, is because, as the CG of FHTX, he is the covening authority of the military court that will try Hasan. Any comment by him could be seen as an effort to sway the jury, whether that be judge or jury.
Think Nixon saying Manson was guilty before the trial, only Cone has more power than Nixon.
It's not that LTG Cone was not aware of or concerned about the jihadi angle, he's being wise in saying nothing.
Strike "sway the jury".
Insert "influence the trier of fact".
Sudden Jihad Syndrome strikes again.
Damn. The only good that could have come out of this today was if the bastard had himself died. Now we'll have legal wranglings, professions of innocence (or insanity), endless statements about how this has nothing to do with Islam (we would have gotten this short-term had the SOB died, but now we'll get it long-term) and other rot along these lines because this low-life remains alive. Perhaps, though, this cretin will metaphorically hang himself with his own words. Time will tell.
"Perhaps, though, this cretin will metaphorically hang himself with his own words. Time will tell."
Hopefully he'll start shouting "Allahu akbar" and "Infidels must die."
But even those probably wouldn't penetrate the PC armor of the MoonBats who absolutely refuse to see.
The way the MSM shamelessly did on mention the Islam connection leads me to think they will willfully deny anything he says on the subject if he gets the chances. I don't get FOX News, did they mention anything nationally? I did see the YouTube that Robert posted. Was there other reports?
No dought his handlers (CAIR) will try to get into this. I hope the army is smart enough to keep them as far away as possible.
Does anyone know how one could send a letter or email the Gen. Cole? Just want to get his antenna pointed in the right directions thats all.
"Hopefully he'll start shouting "Allahu akbar" and "Infidels must die."" -- darcy
That would be something, wouldn't it? But unless he's totally wacko I'd guess he's smart enough to avoid doing something this stupid. Anyway, it would probably be ruled hearsay and irrelevant, and stricken from the record. /sarc
I wonder - this is a military matter, so it will presumably be tried in a military court. Does anyone here know how this would be conducted? Does he have a right to civilian counsel, e.g., ACLU or CAIR, and what limits are there on sentencing? Does Texas law hold here, so that if convicted of FDM he could be executed, or what? Can the press (esp. the international press, but also the domestic press) be barred from the trial?
I am actually glad that he did not die. Major Hasan will not have a fantastic heaven to look forward to, but years in jail followed by a mundane execution. Also, I would prefer that even the execution would not happen. It would be better for him to spend decades in an isolation and eventually die as a completely insane old man. That would make martyrdom far less sexy for the jihadists. But, the confinement would have to entail isolation from fellow inmates, and especially Muslim ones.
Islam teaches you to be hostile...afterall...Peace is Un-Islamic...
"Perhaps, though, this cretin will metaphorically hang himself with his own words. Time will tell."
Wellington and Darcy,
If he is a disciplined and dedicated Muslim (and reports say he is) he should fight the Kuffar as long as he is alive. Since he will be now incarcerated, he can only fight us with his words. He will get his chance to hurt his fellow American soldiers (and help his fellow Muslim soldiers) with words going forward. He is likely to say only those things that benefit his fellow Muslim soldiers.
Because of a post where Abdullah advised me to consult with a moslem pysquiatrist that he knew well, i think he must be the one that has done these killings.Strange how time is wrapping all. First he is surrendering to our Queen Isabel and being expelled outside of Spain, only to reappear again in the states to perpetrate more killings.
But the answer is simple, he is not Abdullah and neither he is exactly an ape, add two horns and a tail plus three numbers on his forehead: 666.Thast why he keeps reappearing again and again.Only the Holy Cross can make him dissappear.
Plotino,
It is curious that the murders took place in Texas and Abdullah Mike lives in Texas. He also mentioned at one time that he has been in the U.S. Military. And he is more than likely a former Christian who converted to Islam. I can tell by the way he gets really guilty sometimes and disappears for a while. His conscience gets to him every once in a while and a little humanity peeks through.
Pray for him. He needs the Holy Cross now more than ever.
I'm sure he wouldn't be alive for long if he wasn't in protective custody; friends of the soldiers he murdered would see to that.

Exclusive federal jurisdiction at Ft Hood. He'll be tried by a military court.
He can be assigned free military defense lawyer or choose one that he pays for himself.
He gets one trial and one appeal, that's all. The death penalty can be given by the military court.
Yes, the press can be kept from the courtroom.
By the words he said, my thought is that it could be him or a friend of his.Because there are no coincidences in life.
But as i said, the Real One behind this or that, is The Same.
The lawyer he can choose and pay for would be a civilian lawyer.
And, military courts are not like those portrayed on the screen, such as A Few Good Men where Tom Cruise gets up and walks around the court room. In military courts, one would have to get permission from the judge to stand and walk around.
Actually, what he shouted might be admissible, even if it's hearsay.
One of the exceptions to the hearsay rule is the "excited utterance" and prosecutors might try to get "Allah-hu-Akbar" admitted, if only to show Hasan's state of mind at the time he was cranking off rounds into bodies. Getting it admitted would go against a potential insanity defense if prosecutors can show a nexus between the actions associated with that phrase by Muslims and the act that was carried out by the defenant.
"Actually, what he shouted might be admissible, even if it's hearsay."
Undaunted, I don't think it is going to be an issue at all. I think he will come right out and admit that it was jihad for the sake of Allah. This is going to be quite uncomfortable for all the Troofers who no doubt were immediately busy busy busy trying to find/create evidence pointing toward the idea that he was a patsy and this was really 'An Inside Job' the moment they heard he was killed in the attack. I'm betting these assholes shat there pants and started going into seizures when the news broke that he was taken alive. Of course I'm sure they will still claim he was tortured into confessing.
I bet there were more involved...
