A horrible shame it took the death of twelve people and 31 more wounded--many seriously--to hopefully open America's collective eyes to the threat we face. If the Republican Party wants to become relevant again, it will need to announce that it understands what jihad is all about, and that they intend to take action to stop it from spreading in our country--changing immigration law, closing our borders, not allowing sensitive information into the hands of terrorists to use against us--and that means particularly military secrets. But any sciences that can be used as WMD's. We had better lean on our Senators and Congressmen/women and tell them the days of PC/MC are now officially over with this attack on our homeland and against our military. Major Malik Nadal Hasan is reportedly a convert from Virginia. I don't know if he was already in the service when he converted; if Hasan was his birth name, or an adopted Muslim name. He is supposed to have had some links to the base medical center, and he was, reportedly, ready to deploy to the Middle East.
With at least forty-three victims—there are now *thirty-one* injured. This certainly doesn't sound like some lone, unstable nut ticked off at his superiors.
President Obama vaguely called the Fort Hood shootings a "horrific outburst of violence."
It may take an absolutely cowardly attack like this to wake the U.S. up.

I was watching Sheppard Smith on FOXNEWS, and he still won't reveal the name, just that the shooter is a convert to Islam. My mother, who was also watching, asked me why he would not reveal the name. I Almost felt that I was being to suspicious from the get-go because it was my very first thought that it would be a Muslim. In this case the word is coming out that it was a Muslim Convert who had just been told that his unit was going to be dispatched to the battlefield.
Family members were telling me to think PC about this attack, but when I heard there was more than one (not fully substantiated) my suspicions were heightened.
So will we see the Homeland Security come out and call it something else rather than a jihadist attack?--IE a man made disaster.

I agree—I saw this, too. He was cheerfully giving a "shout-out" (his words) to some aide who had helped set up the event, which was apparently an address to some Native American group. He nattered on about Native American issues for a bit before finally referring to the Ft. Hood massacre. He vaguely categorized it as "horrific incident".
Hasan was reportedly due to be deployed to Afghanistan, and was upset about it. No doubt because he might be called upon to fight fellow Muslims.
Where did his loyalties lie? Clearly, not with his fellow Americans.
It was a civilian police officer who took Hasan down. The officer was himself killed—this man is a hero.
Two (or possibly three) others have been taken into custody. I'm sure we'll be hearing more about them as we go.

Interestingly, Fox (Shep Smith) acknowledged knowing it but wouldn't actually say it on the air, and neither would Kay Bailey Hutchinson, who he was interviewing at the time, both declaring that they wanted to wait until it was confirmed by military sources. The Dwarf over at CNN had no such reservations, though, and gave it out, saying the name had been given to CNN by a police sergeant on the scene (a civilian?). Both reporters were obviously sucking their breaths when they reported this, as they obviously know the implications.
If it turns out the guy is a Muslim convert (what was his original Christian name?) and especially if he was overheard to be yelling Islamic slogans during the course of his rampage (don't know that he did, but wouldn't be surprised that a few Allahu Akbars slipped out during what he must have known would be a suicide operation), then all hell's gonna break loose. It will be interesting to see how the MSM tries to spin this one. We all know what Obama will say, that the guy is a loner who doesn't represent blah blah blah. There is no question in my mind that Kay Bailey Hutchinson who said she had been told his name was clearly uncomfortable in releasing the shooters name because she was concerned about the publics reaction to the name. Shepherd Smith honored her desire to hold the name at that moment even though he already new it. No doubt the public reaction is going to be huge on this.
We do know that Dr. Maj. Malik Nadal Hasan (the jihadist) was a mental health care physician on the base (how ironic is that).

Here in Australia we've just had the planning of a similar event except the Muslims involved weren't Army personnel -- this attempt was foiled in the planning stages -- one of the Muslims had already surveilled Holsworthy Base and reported that it would be very easy for him and the other 'brothers' to go in guns blazing and get themselves a good bag of najis kuffr before they went down in a blaze of martyred glory.

As far as I know, this is the worst mass shooting at a US military base on American soil *ever*, and the worst attack on an American base since Pearl Harbor.

It is eminently reasonable to presume that the perpetrator of any seeming terror attack is Muslim. If the facts later show it wasn't, then so be it. The verdict, as far as I am concerned, is still out on at least five prior attacks:
The OK City bombing (cf. Jayna Davis)
the slaughter of the Coptic family in New Jersey
the beheading on the bus in Canada
the Virginia Tech shooting
and the subsequent Virginia Tech beheading.

We recognize Islam as it is, by looking at the Quran and hearing the verses quoted by MUSLIMS THEMSELVES who justify what they do with these verses.I highly recommend you read the Islam 101 section on this site and maybe one of Mr. Spencer's books. Also, read the Quran and see what Muslims ACTUALLY BELIEVE and quote when they do horrible things. Where Christians, Hindus, Jews etc. do bad things it is counter to their religion, Muslims do horrible things by the command of theirs.
Christians, Hindus, Jews, etc. do not use their scripture to justify evil (at least, not in any widespread numbers), Mulsims do.
Islam is not a race, therefore a dislike or hatred of Islam cannot be racism, as you try to make it out to be (mentioning white males).
Also, Timothy McVeigh was not a christian, he was an agnostic.

The Quran was not written and recieved all at once. It was presented in stages over MANY number of years. Each section of the Quaran deals with the circumstances surrounding that period of time. In the instance of verses discussing "infedels" and finding them out and slaying them, it is in reference to a time where War was prevelant, have you ever heard of the Crusades? I do belelive it was dominated by the Christians and thousands were slaughtered by the hands of Christians. ANY Muslim who kills an innocent person DOES NOT OBIDE BY ISLAMIC LAW. The verses presented on this website are taken out of context, and ignore the fact that they were in reference to a time of war and civil unrest where Muslims were being sought out and killed mercilessly. I am a Muslim, and I certainly have NEVER gotten the idea that killing non-muslims is my duty!!! And the MAJORITY of muslims are NOT like this. Look, there is a lot going on in the world right now, and we in the West cant even fathom the autrocities that take place. We should be thankful that we live in somewhat civil society, and work TOGETHER to rid the planet of these retards who falsley use the name of God to justify their horrific acts.

For anyone who isn't familiar with the Biblical texts it should be pointed out that all the passages to do with warfare applied ONLY to the conquest and then defence of the tiny area of land known as Canaan; nowhere else. YHWH did *not* tell the Israelites to seek world domination - whereas Mohammed most definitely teaches the Muslims to pursue exactly that, Total World Domination. As for Christians: Jesus did NOT tell his disciples to invade and conquer anybody: their mandate was to peacefully teach, preach and heal.
The Muslim historian Ibn Khaldun actually states that *only* Islam pursues temporal World Conquest by means of offensive warfare, while pointing out (correctly) that Judaism and Christianity permit warfare only in self-defence.
It should also be observed that by the time of Mohammed (6th century AD), the Jews had long abandoned the practice of stoning as a punishment (it should also be noted that there are exactly three historic cases of stoning recorded within the Bible [Achan and Naboth in the TaNaKh, both thousands of years ago; and Stephen, in the New Testament]; none of these is in fact a stoning for adultery ). Christians, of course - thanks to the powerful and unforgettable Gospel description of Jesus averting a stoning by challenging the accusers... 'he who is without sin, cast the first stone at her' - never taught or practised stoning.
Whereas the literal-minded cruel barbarian Mohammed, in the 6th century AD, *reinstated* stoning, which Jews had long before ceased to use, and which Christians had never used at all.
The Old Testament laws such as harsh punishment for breach of the Sabbath or for cursing parents were (when practised) *only* applicable within the Israelite/ Jewish community and indeed only within the small compass of the land of Israel: nowhere else. The people of Israel were not commanded or required to impose any of these laws on anyone who lived outside Israel.
Christians, of course, being in any case mostly of Gentile background and resident outside the land of Israel, have never regarded themselves as obligated to observe any of the civil/ ritual laws. See the treatment of this subject in the book of Acts and the Letters of St Paul to the Romans and the Corinthians. The principle that guides Christian interpretation is this: "love is the fulfilling of the law'; and "I will have mercy, and not sacrifice".
