Hamas rockets can now reach Tel Aviv

So says Danny Ayalon. But no doubt more Israeli concessions will make this problem go away, eh, Mr. President?

"Israel Official Says Hamas Rockets Can Reach Tel Aviv (Update2)," by Gwen Ackerman and Calev Ben-David for Bloomberg, November 3 (thanks to all who sent this in):

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- The Islamic Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip can now launch rockets capable of reaching the Israeli metropolitan area of Tel Aviv, Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said at a Jerusalem briefing.

"We know they have tried to, and have obtained missiles that reach 60 kilometers (37 miles)," Ayalon said today. "Tel Aviv and its vicinity are now under the range of Hamas."

During Israel's military operation against Hamas in Gaza, which ended in January, the farthest rocket strike was some 40 kilometers into Israel, endangering southern cities such as Ashdod and Beersheba.

Since the three-week operation, Hamas has been able to replenish its stock of military equipment and explosives as well as upgrade its rocket capability, Ayalon said. Hamas is receiving support from Iran, which is using the Islamic movement to increase its influence in the region, he said.

Hamas recently successfully tested a rocket with a 60- kilometer range, Major General Amos Yadlin, chief of military intelligence, told a parliamentary committee in Jerusalem today, according to the YNet news Web site.

When reached for comment, Abu Obaida, spokesman for Hamas's military wing, said: "We are not interested in responding to the Zionist intelligence reports. They can say whatever they want."...

Unfortunately, it's going to take a serious strike (or maybe a few given today's political environment and the useless nations) on Israel so they can do what we all know must be done for any real change to occur in that region. It is sad to say that I think many israelis will die before anyone looks at all the facts and not just israel's reactions to the constant hostility they've faced sine inception.

Hillary Carter now declares that the Obama Administration considers the Israeli "settlements" to be "illegitimate." Now not even James Baker dared to say that, dared to say that they were illegal. For under the Mandate, Israel has every right to claim what the Jordanians renamed the "West Bank." And the U.N. has no power to undo the League of Nations Mandate system, nor the Treaty of San Remo. See Grief, see Julius Stone for the exhaustive treatment of the legal claim of Israel to land that is at much its, by right, as is any other part of Israel.

But apparently the Obama Administration, at its wits end as to how to deal with the problem, and the various instruments, of Jihad, is still trying the route of ignoring the real and immutable basis of the problem, and attempting to buy its way out with the coin of Israeli security, Israeli survival. Geopolitically, this cannot possibly work. Morally, it is intolerable.

Yep...the US and Israel agree to a settlement freeze as dictated by Obama, the Palestinians react with disdain, and Clinton responds by diminishing the importance of the agreement she just signed by raising the bar and insisting Israel needs to do more.

The Islamic Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip...

So now Hamas is a movement. Moving for the Cause. Causing lotsa violence, fear, and costs.

Hamas comprises some darned fine Moslems. Activist Moslems yes, but fine and toeing the Islamic line.

I say this cuz, if Islam is above criticism, and it is, even in Israel, then it is unfair to criticize those acting on its dictates. It would be inconsistent to criticize or even defend oneself against those who are acting on the commands of an entity above criticism, now wouldn't it?

This is why all the confusion. We have no choice but to openly talk about those who attack us, and even sometimes we have no choice but take action to defend ourselves, but at the same time we may not criticize them.

“Maj.-Gen. Amos Yadlin said, Hamas had accelerated its attempts to restore and improve both its land forces and its rocket capabilities. According to Yadlin, Hamas was in a better position for rocket capabilities than it was before Operation Cast Lead.”

Feel the love.

Hamas will have sealed it's fate with Netanyahu in office. l would say to them, "make my day" goat breath.

l forgot to mention that when ever the IDF striked back at Hamas, the EU, UN etc always said it was uneven fight in so many words, so if using their logic with Hamas thugs having more fire power when the IDF strike back they can legitimately say it was an equal strike. good bye hamas .

no doubt about it, the Muslims will launch the missiles one day soon..

The only way the EU, UN is quieted over this is when rocket attacks are emanating from their own rapidly growing Islamic no go zones inside of Europe. Shouldn't be too much longer here, 10 years for Europe, 20 or so for the U.S.

Geopolitically, this cannot possibly work.

So true. But let's focus on the word "geopolitics" here. It can be extended, cuz geopolitically the West's program to import and assimilate Moslems by the millions cannot work.

But there's a limit to the concept of geopolitics. It focuses on the spatial, in the form of land. Not that that's a bad thing, in fact the art & science of geopolitics has been going on for quite a while now and practing it well is critically and chronically essential to a nation's well being. It's extremely important and Moslems play the land game too, and in a big way. A trip to the southern Philippines will show you that.

Since the onset of mass electronic media, especially TV, and now the mind blowing reach and power of the Internet, a second spatial dimension has come into play: opinion programming.

Our continued collective decline towards defeat in the Global Jihad -- even as the defensive actor in this jihad war, with the Moslems on the offense as always -- cannot be averted without adding the concept and practice of ideopolitics right alongside geopolitics.

Cut off from the mainstream, we're losing the war for hearts and minds even despite the most outrageous open conduct that one could only wish were fantastic.

We're practicing geopolitics and losing while the Moslems are practicing ideopolitics and winning.

"October was a tumultuous time for Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV) in the Hague Parliament. Dutch public opinion polls show Wilders and the PVV in the lead position in any future Parliamentary election. The PVV is currently the leading Dutch party in the European Parliament. After the next elections, Wilders might be in a position to form a ruling coalition in Holland as Prime Minister. What sets Wilders apart from most EU political leaders is his ringing support of America and Israel. He considers Israel’s embattled position in the Middle East as fighting for all of us. As he says in his speeches: “we all are Israel.”

Lets hope that change comes soon to European politics. I think we will see a radical shift in Europe soon, then America following suite.

We truly are all Israel!!!!
