It wasn't jihad, it was heartburn

Excuses, excuses. Daniel Pipes chronicles some of the absurd lengths to which the mainstream media and law enforcement authorities will go to avoid calling jihad jihad. "Sudden Jihad or Inordinate Stress at Ft. Hood?," by Daniel Pipes at FrontPage, November 9:

When a Muslim in the West for no apparent reason violently attacks non-Muslims, a predictable argument ensues about motives.

The establishment - law enforcement, politicians, the media, and the academy - stands on one side of this debate, insisting that some kind of oppression caused Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, 39, to kill 13 and wound 38 at Ft. Hood on Nov. 5. [...]

Instances of Muslim-on-unbeliever violence inspire the victim school to dig up new and imaginative excuses. Colorful examples (drawing on my article and weblog entry about denying Islamist terrorism) include:

  • 1990: “A prescription drug for ... depression” (to explain the assassination of Rabbi Meir Kahane)

  • 1991: “A robbery gone wrong” (the murder of Makin Morcos in Sydney)
  • 1994: “Road rage” (the killing of a random Jew on the Brooklyn Bridge)

  • 1997: “Many, many enemies in his mind” (the shooting murder atop the Empire State Building)

  • 2000: A traffic incident (the attack on a bus of Jewish schoolchildren near Paris)
  • 2002: “A work dispute” (the double murder at LAX)

  • 2002: A “stormy [family] relationship” (the Beltway snipers)

  • 2003: An “attitude problem” (Hasan Karim Akbar’s attack on fellow soldiers, killing two)
  • 2003: Mental illness (the mutilation murder of Sebastian Sellam)

  • 2004: “Loneliness and depression” (an explosion in Brescia, Italy outside a McDonald’s restaurant)

  • 2005: “A disagreement between the suspect and another staff member” (a rampage at a retirement center in Virginia)
  • 2006: “An animus toward women” (a murderous rampage at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle in 2006)

  • 2006: “His recent, arranged marriage may have made him stressed” (killing with an SUV in northern California in 2006)

There is much more. Read it all.

Pipes does a good job, and I think I got at least some of my examples from him, but here are more, compiled begining Aug. '08 and up-dated as I see them. Looks like more to add.

http://nodhimmitude.blogspot.com/2008/08/utterly-baffling-hammer-attack-on-nine.html

People always have to come up with an explanation.

For example, my neighbor had a dog. The dog was vicious. It would bark, growl, and snap at anything or anyone it could reach. It was clear to anyone with any sense, not to get near the dog.

One day, one of the friends of my neighbor's son, decided to visit, and made the mistake of going into my neighbor's back yard. The kid was bitten, his pants were shredded, and it sounded terrible. Luckily the kid got out of the yard with only a couple of bites.

Later when I talked to my neighbor about the attack, hoping she would realize that the dog was vicious and would get rid of it. However, to excuse the attack, she explained that the dog was frightened because the kid came in their yard. Thus she assigned a human emotion and thought pattern to an animalistic act. She reached into her frame of reference in attempt to make sense of something that she really didnt understand and grabbed the convenient explanation.

The average guy, can understand killing out of revenge, jealousy, greed, and other emotions/motivations that they understand. However, to kill people just because they are there, seems inexplicable to the average guy. He just cant quite figure it out, from his/her frame of reference, and grabs on to the convenient explanation.

Most jihadists, eschew the mental insanity explanation, when and if they go to trial. If the Ft Hood doctor is truly a jihadist, he will say so at trial, and will likely defend himself as a pro se attorney. Rather than jeopardize their chance to a heavenly reward, they will tell the truth of their motivations. So the average guy, if he/she is paying attention, may come to see a less convenient truth.

Robert, have you been on http://revolutionmuslim.com/?

If not you need to go over there, check it out, then come back here and point out how they are calling for jihad on westerners. It's the most hateful/propaganda site I've ever seen. Nothing about their site is to inspire intellectual debate.

It goes beyond free speech. They are pretty much calling for Muslims to continue their war on America.

Where is CAIR at? CAIR doesn't CARE about them. Shouldn't CAIR and others be telling RevolutionMuslism how islam is a religion of peace?

They are no different than a Al-qaeda site.
It should be shut down with the quickness before they get killed, or they inspire some muslim to kill more Americans.

Daniel Pipes certainly has excellent analytical skills.

Over at Planck's Constant, Bernie had a similar response to an article by "Sissy" Chris Matthews at "Hot Air".
Things are heating up in bloggers world.

'Islam is not to blame' and 'Islam doesn't teach violence' (despite printed evidence) are the new phrases to know and repeat by the news media and leftists. It is poised on the lips, ready to be used before any evidence is even gathered. Along with "You can't blame islam' and 'He's not a true muslim' and the ever present "Let me be clear".

And the new one from Europe - 'You can't blame a 1,400 year old book for the actions of someone today'.

To all you news people who might happen to read this-
Do you want a crystal ball so that you will finally understand the muslim mindset? Try reading Robert Spencer's books. You will not be surprised or clueless any longer.

Then, when the person admits that he was motivated by his religion and other muslims try to convince you that it has nothing to do with islam by saying the 'new muslims mantra' of "He is not a TRUE muslim', you will know enough to understand. Finally.

Was he on the make for a dhimmi wife because all the Muslimas are getting too Westernized and won't wear their headgarb?

Number one -- to believe a stripper, who will do anything for money -- is dumb. She could be on her own Al-Taqiyah* tour to portray him as something other than what he is: a treasonous jihadi terrorist in OUR uniform.

*Al-Toquah (or Al-Taqiyah)=

A Muslim military doctrine which advocates the use of deception to infiltrate the enemy and spread internal strife (working undercover).

Fox is ahead on some news curves but is dragging one foot on anything Islam...

What these pathetics don't realize is that their denials and making up excuses for Islam is helping the enemy kill more people...Every single denier is aiding and abetting terrorism, and are complicit in mass murder by proxy jihad...

Senator Graham said this: “At the end of the day, maybe this is just about him. It’s certainly not about his religion, Islam.”

How stupid is that? How irresponsible is that?...The next Mahoundian 'Sudden Jihad Syndrome', that is, 'certainly not about Islam', will be on Grahams head...

Senator Nancy Graham from South Carolina is mentally unstable, but we are letting him do this senator thing due to veteran guilt syndrome.

There is no shortage of people who gamble with other peoples lives. The same people who would gamble with Rifqa Bary's life, are now making up excuses for a mass murdering jihadist.

'It's not Islam stupid, it's severe indigestion'...

Uh huh...Gambling with anothers life is evil...You don't have to be religious to understand that...They may escape Allah's wrath, but they won't escape mine...I have plenty of wrath in reserve...

OT. imran zilich, on trial for the murder of his 3 year old son has said that he believed that what he did was the will god. After he slit his son's throat he threw him down a mine shaft. As he did so he said "allah".
He's playing the mental impairment card { allegedly has schizophrenia, but is not admitting to his responsibility for the copious drugs he had been taking}. Gee, I wander where he got the "slit his throat" from?
I'll keep you posted
