Jannati equates opposing the Islamic regime in Iran with "waging war against God." It would be refreshing if some aggressive self-proclaimed moderate U.S. Muslim group, say, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, would explain publicly just how the Iranian mullahs are misunderstanding Islam, so as to dispel the impression that this bloody and repressive regime has anything to do with the true teachings of the Religion of Peace™.
But that won't happen.
"Iran's struggle with America should continue: cleric," from Reuters, November 13 (thanks to James):
TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran must continue its struggle against the United States, a hardline cleric said on Friday a day after Washington renewed long-standing U.S. financial sanctions against Iran.U.S. President Barack Obama offered a new approach toward Iran when he took office in January, but Iran remains locked in dispute with Washington and other world powers over its nuclear energy program.
The West suspects Iran's nuclear work aims in part to allow it to acquire atomic weapons. Tehran denies the charge.
Iran has also accused Washington and other Western countries of fomenting protests that erupted after a presidential election in June which opposition candidates say was fraudulent.
"If we are to assure that the Islamic establishment, the revolution and Islam are to stay and the people are to live comfortably, the flag of the struggle against America should always stay hoisted," Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati said.
"What does it mean when the U.S. Congress comes and allocates $55 million for the weakening of the Islamic Republic? It means they are waging war against God and against the people of this country. They are constantly engaging in enmity," he said in a Friday prayer sermon broadcast on state radio.
It was not clear what allocation Jannati was referring to, but Congress has in the past provided money for promoting democracy and civil society groups in Iran....
Islam needs enemies. It's a disease just like Nazism or Communism and it feeds off what it kills.
One of the most deplorable actions that the Obamahdi administration has done was to ignore the terrible repression launched by the murderous clerical government against its own people.
Obama's lack of support for the freedom seeking Iranian people is shameful.
Perhaps Barack Obama, and his Administratin, will spend a little time -- they are spending so much time thinking about this, and thinking about that -- about whether or not that historic "reaching out" to adherents of Islam, as expressed in that wildly misleading (for non-Muslims), and dangerously craven -- not understood to be such, either by its proud crafters or by the man who delivered it at the time, but perhaps men and events are forcing them to re-think things -- speech in Cairo.
Islam's texts and tenets do not change. The attitudes of adherents of Islam who grow up in states or societies or communities or families suffused with Islam (or who as individuals are self-suffused with Islam), the atmospherics -- the violence and aggression, for example -- of Muslim societies, held in check only by several security services as well as the military (Arafat outdid them all, offered a kind of parody of the Muslim state, with half-a-dozen such separate services, each watching the other).
There was no response by any Muslim government or people to that Cairo speech bg Obama on Islam and the deliver's supposed deep respect for it(a respect one hopes was entirely factitious). That was Obama's worst and most dangerous speech, a speech not of intelligent and carefully-phrased apprehension, crafted and delivered with great guile, but rather one of misplaced praise, fulsome appreciation for qualities of Islam that no Western scholar of Islam (of the great age of uninhibted, unapologetic Western scholarship) has been able to find, nor have any of the apostates, those articulate bearers of such important and truthful testimony, supported in any way the ill-informed claims made, in that speech, by its smooth deliverer. That speech contained so many appalling misstatements -- every rhetorical riff and rift was loaded with the falsest of glittering ores that have, in a few short months since the speech was delivered, already crumbled into dust -- and after the brieef oohs and aahs about how much the American "stock" has risen, it was clear that it never really changed in the lands of Islam. The same meretriciousness, the same corruption, the same violence, the same demands for more and ever more American aid, by everyone under the sun. The same refusal of the Saudis and other rich Arabs to contribute to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq (where they shore up Sunni intransigence), Egypt, Jordan, the "Palestinian" Authority, with its competing warlords and the overarching competition with the warlords of Hamas in claiming the mantle for leading the Local Jihad against the Infidel nation-state of Israel, the same sinister behavior by CAIR and other groups in America, the same aggressive behavior by Muslims in the countries of Western Europe, the same everything, including the folly of Afghanisetan, a folly that will continue because, for all the talk of letting a hundred geopolitical flowers bloom, the Obama Administratino has failed to recognize that it should leave Afghanistan in order to more ruthlessly and effectively deal with the world-wide problem of Jihad, and of the instruments of Jihad other than terrorism or even conventional combat or qitaal. No, having made that rhetorical bed in Cairo, and still forcing himself to lie in it (that bed is shrinking, and becoming more painfully Procrustean every day), Obama and his advisers cannot see straight on the subject of Islam (in this respect they are no different from the Bush Administration), cannot intelligently leave Afghanistan now for fear of appearing to be "weak" on Islam, when in fact a withdrawal, a willingness to let the Muslim countries decline into internecine warfare, a readiness to recognize and exploit, by doing nothing to halt, the ethnic and sectarian and economic fissures within the Camp of Islam -- no, by taking a position, early on, of craven attempts to win over Muslism, the Administratin, paradoxically, now feels it doesn't dare remove troops -- as it should -- from Afghanistan.
It's an amazing spectacle, as yet understood by no one. Except me. Except you.
Leading Iranian cleric misunderstands Islam, says "If we are to assure that the Islamic establishment, the revolution and Islam are to stay...the flag of the struggle against America should always stay hoisted"
.................................
And yet, how often do we hear the nattering classes assure us that the ubiquitous Iranian cry of "Death to America!" is now meaningless, and entirely pro forma—nothing that any Iranian actually believes in anymore?
America and the West—even its current, wishy-washy, undefended state, even eroded by "soft" socialism—is everything that Islam is not—open, free, democratic.
I am just now reading an appallingly meretricious book by on Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf—who was covered once by JihadWatch many years ago—called, "What's Right with Islam is What's Right with America".
It is a grotesque piece of Taqiyya that attempts to convince clueless, hopeful Americans—I doubt there is any Muslim audience for this book—that Islam is really just like America, and Shari'ah is just like the constitution!
The mask keeps slipping, though, as Rauf tries to explain why so many Muslims consider Osama bin Laden to be just like Robin Hood.
In any case, all America really needs to do to live up to its intrinsic Islamic ideals is to withdraw from any aspect of fighting the "War on Terror" (this book was written before President Obama was elected, and helpfully abolished the term), oh, and allow Muslims to institute Shari'ah, in the interest of American values of plurality.
I think I know which Imam is more honest.
AWARENESS HAS NEVER HURT ANYONE.
Juval Aviv was the Israeli Agent upon whom the movie ' Munich ' was based.. He was Golda Meir's bodyguard - she appointed him to track down and bring to justice the Palestinian terrorists who took the Israeli athletes hostage and killed them during the Munich Olympic Games.
In a lecture in New York City a few weeks ago, he shared information that EVERY American needs to know but that our government has not yet shared with us.
He predicted the London subway bombing on the Bill O'Reilly show on Fox News stating publicly that it would happen within a week. At the time, O'Reilly laughed and mocked him saying that in a week he wanted him back on the show. But, unfortunately, within a week the terrorist attack had occurred.
Juval Aviv gave intelligence (via what he had gathered in Israel and the Middle East ) to the Bush Administration about 9/11 a month before it occurred. His report specifically said they would use planes as bombs and target high profile buildings and monuments.
Congress has since hired him as a security consultant.
Now for his future predictions. He predicts the next terrorist attack on the U.S. Will occur within the next few months.
Forget hijacking airplanes, because he says terrorists will NEVER try and hijack a plane again as they know the people onboard will never go again. Aviv believes our airport security is a joke -- that we have been reactionary rather than proactive in developing strategies that are truly effective.
For example:
1)Our airport technology is outdated. We look for metal, and the new explosives are made of plastic.
2) He talked about how some idiot tried to light his shoe on fire. Because of that, now everyone has to take off their shoes. A group of idiots tried to bring aboard liquid explosives. Now we can't bring liquids on board. He says he's waiting for some suicidal maniac to pour liquid explosive on his underwear; at which point, security will have us all traveling naked! Every strategy we have is reactionary.
3) We only focus on security when people are heading to the gates. Aviv says that if a terrorist attack targets airports in the future, they will target busy times on the front end of the airport when/where people are checking in. It would be easy for someone to take two suitcases of explosives, walk up to a busy check-in line, ask a person next to them to watch their bags for a minute while they run to the restroom or get a drink and then detonate the bags BEFORE security even gets involved. In Israel , security checks bags BEFORE people can even ENTER the airport.
Aviv says the next terrorist attack here in America is imminent and will involve suicide bombers and non-suicide bombers in places where large groups of people congregate. (I. E., Disneyland, Las Vegas casinos, big cities New York , San Francisco , Chicago , etc.) and that it will also include shopping malls, subways in rush hour, train stations, etc., as well as rural America this time( Wyoming , Montana , etc.).
The attack will be characterized by simultaneous detonations around the country (terrorists like big impact), involving at least 5-8 cities, including rural areas.
Aviv says terrorists won 't need to use suicide bombers in many of the larger cities, because at places like the MGM Grand in Las Vegas , they can simply valet park a car loaded with explosives and walk away.
Aviv says all of the above is well known in intelligence circles, but that our U. S. Government does not want to 'alarm American citizens' with the facts. The world is quickly going to become 'a different place', and issues like 'global warming' and political correctness will become totally irrelevant.
On an encouraging note, he says that Americans don't have to be concerned about being nuked. Aviv says the terrorists who want to destroy America will not use sophisticated weapons. They like to use suicide as a front-line approach. It's cheap, it's easy, it's effective; and they have an infinite abundance of young militants more than willing to 'meet their destiny'.
He also says the next level of terrorists, over which America should be most concerned, will not be coming from abroad. But will be, instead, 'homegrown' having attended and been educated in our own schools and universities right here in the U.S. He says to look for 'students' who frequently travel back and forth to the Middle East . These young terrorists will be most dangerous because they will know our language and will fully understand the habits of Americans; but that we Americans won't know/understand a thing about them.
Aviv says that, as a people, Americans are unaware and uneducated about the terrorist threats we will, inevitably, face. America still has only have a handful of Arabic and Farsi speaking people in our intelligence networks and Aviv says it is critical that we change that fact SOON.
So, what can America do to protect itself? From an intelligence perspective, Aviv says the U.S. needs to stop relying on satellites and technology for intelligence. We need to, instead, follow Israel 's, Switzerlands , Ireland 's and England 's hands-on examples of human intelligence, both from an infiltration perspective as well as to trust 'aware' citizens to help. We need to engage and educate ourselves as citizens; however, our U. S. government continues to treat us, its citizens, 'like babies'. Our government thinks we 'can't handle the truth' and are concerned that we'll panic if we understand the realities of terrorists Aviv says this is a deadly mistake.
Aviv recently created/executed a security test for our Congress, by placing an empty briefcase in five well-traveled spots in five major cities. The results? Not one person called 911 or sought a policeman to check it out...in fact, in Chicago , someone tried to steal the briefcase!
In comparison, Aviv says that citizens of Israel are so well 'trained' that an unattended bag or package would be reported in seconds by citizen(s) who know to publicly shout, 'Unattended Bag!' The area would be quickly & calmly cleared by the citizens themselves. But, unfortunately, America hasn't yet been 'hurt enough' by terrorism for their government to fully understand the need to educate its citizens or for the government to understand that it's their citizens who are, inevitably, the best first-line of defense against terrorism..
Aviv also was concerned about the high number of children here in America who were in preschool and kindergarten after 9/11, who were 'lost' without parents being able to pick them up, and about our schools that had no plan in place to best care for the students until parents could get there.(In New York City, this was days, in some cases!)
He stresses the importance of having a plan, that's agreed upon within your family, to respond to in the event of a terrorist emergency. He urges parents to contact their children's schools and demand that the schools, too, develop plans of actions, as they do in Israel .
Does your family know what to do if you can't contact one another by phone? Where would you gather in an emergency? He says we should all have a plan that is easy enough for even> our youngest children to remember and follow.
Aviv says that the U. S. government has in force a plan that, in the event of another terrorist attack, will immediately cut-off EVERYONE's ability to use cell phones, blackberries, etc., as this is the preferred communication source used by terrorists and is often the way that their bombs are detonated.
How will you communicate with your loved ones in the event you
If you believe what you have just read, then you must feel compelled to send to every concerned parent or guardian, grandparents, uncles, aunts, whatever and whomever. Nothing will happen if you choose not to do so, but in the event it does happen, this particular email will haunt you..."I should have sent this to...", but I didn't believe it and just deleted it

Hasan is paralyzed from the waist down.
That is definitely some justice. No doubt about it.
Well, that puts Hasan in the correct postion for the electric chair. Of course he must he nursed back to health very carefully first.
Well, I guess that lap dance will never be the same.
No more exercizing the demon for him.
:-D
Thanks for the post, Mobamad.
Mobamad, thank you for the enlightening (and disturbing) piece about Juval Aviv.
I would only add one caveat to his suggestions:
"America still has only have a handful of Arabic and Farsi speaking people in our intelligence networks and Aviv says it is critical that we change that fact SOON."
The steps America has taken to secure more Arabic speakers could not be more wrong-headed—rather than either recruiting non-Muslim Arabic speakers, such as Jews and Christians with a Middle-Eastern background, or encouraging main-stream Americans to learn the language, we have instead encouraged—and heavily funded—Arabic-language schools or outright madrasses, whose students are most commonly Muslim students (with a smattering of American students who attend for the "multi-cultural" experience).
Many of these schools use Saudi-supplied materials and teach anti-Americanism, anti-Semitism, and Muslim supremacy. As bad as the dearth of American Arabic speakers has proven, having a pool of Arabic speakers whose loyalty to the U.S. is suspect at best is considerably worse. They will form a fifth-column of the most sensitive kind—this is terribly dangerous.
This is not speculation. The US has already experienced Arabic translators either deliberately mis-translating work for security agencies, or passing along information to the very Jihad terrorists who are threatening us.
This is madness.
This Juval Aviv business should not be placed at this website.
Here is all you need to know, from a two-year-old posting anyone can find on-line by appropriate googling:
"Given that it [a message from Juval Aviv] predicts terrorist attacks on "at least 5-8 cities" in the United States "within the next few months," probably the most important thing you need to know about this message is that it's at least two years old (with another variant dating back even further, to 2005), and has already proven itself false.
The second thing you need to know is that while Juval Aviv is a bona fide corporate security consultant operating out of New York, his credentials as an intelligence expert have been questioned by both journalists and government sources. A 2006 article in The Guardian reported that "Aviv never served in Mossad, or any Israeli intelligence organisation," and "his nearest approximatin to spy work was as a lowly gate guard for the airline El Al in New York in the early '70s."
A letter written to the U.S. President’s Commission on Aviation Security and Terrorism in 1990 by Israeli counterterrorism adviser Yigal Carmon makes the same allegations, further claiming that Aviv is known to have been involved in "various acts of fraud and impersonation."
Notwithstanding specific claims made in the email above, I've found no legitimate sources confirming that Juval Aviv issued a warning to the Bush administration a month before the 9/11 attacks, nor that he predicted the London subway bombing one week in advance during an appearance on the Bill O'Reilly Show.
Regardless of the controversies surrounding Mr. Aviv himself, it goes without saying that one shouldn't rely on forwarded emails for critical advice on terrorist attacks and emergency preparedness. I recommend the Department of Homeland Security's Ready.gov instead."
That does not mean that there are not reasons to believe the American government keeps many things from alarming people, nor does it mean that there will not be terrible things to come -- though those terrible things, designed to promote the islamization of Infidel lands, may not always and everywhere involve terrorism.
But a little less credulity, and a greater sense of measure, would -- in the postings as in life -- be welcome.
Dude, I just thought that it was interesting. I have no idea if it has any credability.
Some one sent it to me, I pass it on. Thats the way it works. No need to get your self all worked up about it.
@Mobamad
Not "dude" to you, but Mr. Fitzgerald.
And do try to act more intelligently than the moronic muhammadans you're trying to discredit.
When Hugh (the James Joyce of the Anti-Jihad and the most articulate voice on World Wide Web)takes the trouble to personally respond to something posted, whether approvingly or not, it behooves the poster to either STFU or say thank you.
Nuff said.
Dude...
I was not trying to offend your boy friend, I was just posting something that I found.
Why should I act any more intelligent than I actualy am?
I'm not trying to be anyone that I am not.
Also, thanks for trying to silence my voice, because you dont like what I said. It reminds me of some of the moronic muhammadans you're trying to discredit.
BTW, I've got a word here that I think will help you in the future.
Decaff.
"Not "dude" to you, but Mr. Fitzgerald."
Hahahahahahahah!!!
Every one is dude to me.
LMFAO!
You're extremely disrespectful to someone more intelligent than you, namely Hugh.
And, it's spelled "credibility," not "credability."
And, it's spelled "exorcizing," not "exercizing."
You're an idiot. Stupid "dude."
"your boy friend" - Man, you're an imbecile. No, it's HOW you said it. You're the moron.
And, it's spelled "Decaf," not "Decaff."
What do you have, a GED? Boy does it show. No need to get yourself all worked up about it!
Now, insult me back as much as you want, Imbecile. I couldn't care less, coming from a moron, Dude!
Mobamad, give it a rest. Yankel had it right. The appropriate response to Hugh should have been to thank him for taking the time to check out the material in your post.
My, how things have a way of developing, if you just let them. Just as, in the old darkroom days, undeveloped photographs would soak patiently in their bath of solution, becoming clearer and clearer till they became their unmistakable selves.
Hugh, can I ask you a question? Good. Are you so uptight that you would not want to be called dude in a crowded chatroom? I mean come on...
Cant we all just get along. *Sob*
Contrary to your banal assumption, I'm wild in the streets. But when it comes to language, I have different rules. And "dude" is just a bit too beavis-and-butthead for my tastes. However, the main thing that offends the gods of the copybook headings is not the rude dude business, but the airy dismissal of correct orthography in your reply to those who stand up for God, for Harry, and for St. Noah Webster. I don't see how you can possibly reply to a fellow poster, rightly exercised by your language, that "[b]ad spelling is really important to you. Weird."
What is "weird" is that someone could possibly think that grammar, spelling, syntax, general literacy, do not matter.
What is this, the world of "A Clockwork Orange"? Not yet, it isn't. Not here.
You know what Hugh? I believe that you are "wild in the streets." Good for you.
Well, I did not mean to say that grammar, spelling, etc, Don't matter. Its just that I'm not very good at them. That's all. If Marcy wants to play the name game well... I am good at that.
What I find weird is that your henchmen want to jump me because I said dude. WTF!?!
What an uptight bunch.
Hey guys, simmer down.
Hugh's caution was warranted.
The email Mobamad posted appears to be one of these things often thrown up by that vast House of Fame (see Chaucer, for more) that is the web; a creature of no solidly identifiable authorship and origin, but containing a kernel of truth. Look at it from the POV of a cultural historian, as a manifestation of genuine citizen alarm. The fact that it is circulating (who knows, how widely?) - and that there are other, similar sorts of things circulating, also to do with Islam - is telling, in itself.
There is one fundamental point of interest in it: it does point to the contrast in attitude and level of awareness of danger, between the Israelis (who have lived with perpetual jihad raids since *before* the foundation of their state) and - still - most of us in the modern West (though I think more of us are wary of unattended bags, than even ten years previously). In 'Un Chretien Pour Israel', Jacques Ellul among other things analyses a little piece written by some 'palestinianist' French Christians who had visited Israel and could not comprehend, for example, why the Israelis were so leery of parcels in public places. That was in the late 1970s or early 1980s.
Let us reflect upon what happened in Jerusalem when Arab Muslims decided to run amok with heavy vehicles, mowing down pedestrians and other vehicles, as opposed to what has happened in the USA (which is so often stereotyped as full of triggerhappy gun-owners) when Muslims have been mowing people down with cars, in San Francisco and North Carolina and now in Rochester, New York.
I would add that, in addition to the official source recommended by Hugh, the website of our own 'Undaunted', who has had first hand street experience as a Military Policeman and a homicide detective, is a good place to go for advice and counsel, and a good site to which to refer others.
Finally: re the 'house style'. Inadvertent slips, lapses of language under extreme provocation (e.g. in the immediate wake of the Ft Hood massacre, when people were so angry and upset they could barely see straight, and rightly so) and in particular, errors in English from fellow non-Muslims for whom English is not the first language, but who are trying their stumbling best to share in the conversation, are forgiven.
As for the rest of us: there's nothing wrong with us all trying to speak as clearly and rationally as possible, and keeping the profanity levels down. After all: if we all behave like decent people, then it reflects well on Mr Spencer who hosts this virtual pub/ coffee house/ hedge school.
And indulging in unseemly wrangles with, and gratuitous insults to, one another, is not a good habit to get into. After all, as one of Tolkien's characters says in 'The Lord of the Rings', "the laughter of Mordor will be our only reward if we quarrel".
Good gravy! Sorry, some of those had to go -- if nothing else, so as not to encourage more of the same.
Keep it clean (or at least PG-13) or risk being banned after a deletion or two that should serve as ample warning.
