Malaysia refuses to let Christians have 10,000 Bibles that use "Allah" for "God"

Islamic Tolerance Alert from modern, moderate Malaysia: an update on this story. The Malaysian government is refusing to release the confiscated Bibles: "Actually the publications, the Bibles are already banned."

A Christian spokesman says: "This constitutional right (to practice freely) is rendered illusory if Christians in Malaysia are denied access to Bibles in a language with which they are familiar."

Uh, yeah. Details here.

And if it was 10,000 copies of the Qur'an?

I thought we all believed in the same god? That's what muslims say, so what's the problem? My, my, this looks like another islamic supremacy issue, and who knew that islam had a copyright on the word "allah"?

The Human Rights gurus better get busy; this is a human rights violation because it infringes upon freedom of religion. Oh, stupid me! I almost forgot that only muslims are guaranteed religious freedom anywhere in the world, and only muslims are victims of human rights violations unless they live in islamic hellholes, where they are regularly mutilated, whipped, crucified, beheaded, tortured, wrongfully imprisoned, enslaved, or stoned. It would be even more of a human rights violation to interfere with or condemn their barbaric culture and legal system since all cultures and religions are equal. I guess the Christians will just have to find another word for "god".
