New York imam pleads not guilty to charges in jihad terror plot

Of course he must not have had anything to do with this plot. How could an imam misunderstand Islam on such a huge scale? Couldn't happen, right? Right? Ahmad Afzali Update. "Queens Imam Pleads Not Guilty To Federal Charges," from NY1 News, November 2 (thanks to all who sent this in):

A Queens imam accused of tipping off a suspected al-Qaida operative pleaded not guilty today during his arraignment....

Prosecutors say Afzali told alleged terror suspect Najibullah Zazi and his father the two were under surveillance and then lied to the FBI about it. Afzali has denied the charges.

Zazi is being held without bond in the city. He is accused of planning to build homemade bombs to use in an attack on the city's mass transit system....

Hogan's Heroes flashback -

Sgt. Schultz - "I know nothing, I know nothing."

Being a muhammadan means NEVER having to say you're SORRY.

Muslims never lie; they just have a very elastic 'islamic truth.

Governments and FBI agents never lie either right?

@Proveit

Only in the utterly unholy "religion" called islam do congregational leaders LIE!!!

muslims are the enemy! Even their "religious" leaders can't be trusted.

I'll believe the Government and the FBI long before I'll believe the "Society of Perpetual Victims".

The government agents are not lying...they have audio and video tapes to back them up...what do the Muslims have? their word?....bwahahahahaha.

In order to tip them off that they were under surveillance, that means our authorities told the imam that we had them under surveillance. Yikes.

If we can't even distinguish "good" imams from bad imams operating in mosques in our own country, how are we going to sort out "moderate" and "hardcore" Taliban with Pres. Obama's Taliban reintegration program?

Distinguish "good" from bad imams? Even to begin to do that is folly, for it implies that we can figure out which Muslims are feigning, and which not, or which Muslims, having perhaps at one time not been feigning in their protestations of true-blue "moderation," have changed their minds for any number of possible reasons, including entirely personal ones. Furthermore, what does it mean to be a "moderate Muslim"? Unless there exists a definition that can satisfactorily be stated, the very idea is dangerous, and nothing involving security should be risked on the notion that someone is, and for all time, a "moderate Muslim."

The word "imam" has an entirely negative connotation for me. Might as well say "SS official" or "Communist opperative."

Afzali is merely using a cardinal tactic within the Muslim playbook - lying to advance the cause of Islam. As a corollary, from his standpoint he is, in fact, not guilty of any wrongdoing. After all, his tipping off fellow Muslim operatives is, to his way of thinking, an act of piety, as it represents an attempt to undermine infidel society and its man-made, secular infidel code of law. Only the law of Allah, Afzali would aver, is legitimate.

The time has come for all good men to come to the aid of their party...The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy moon,

..the quick brown fox indeed.

Wellington :The word "imam" has an entirely negative connotation for me. Might as well say "SS official" or "Communist operative."

I'd agree with you there, Wellington.

However, when I see 'imam' I immediately think of John Inman and imagine how he'd have delivered Friday Prayers.

I prefer to fight islam in a Pythonesque manner.

Meanwhile, al-Qaeda is still calling for Muslims in the West to carryout attacks and assassinations.

Imam= officer in the jihadist onslaught against "infidels".

When I see the word "imam" I think of a lying Mohammedan male who wants Islam to conquer the world. I think of a dastardly person, and a knucklehead and a knuckle-walker, as well. In short, a total creep.

On another subject, England is so going down the tubes. They have no pride in their culture anymore:
