Manila - US President Barack Obama has sent a letter to the leader of the main Muslim rebel group in the Philippines, a guerrilla official said Saturday.The letter to Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) chairman Murad Ibrahim was delivered to rebel peace negotiators by Deputy Assistant State Secretary Scot Marciel, according to Muhammad Ameen, chairman of the MILF secretariat.
Ameen said Marciel and two other US diplomats met MILF peace negotiators headed by Mohagher Iqbal on November 6.
Ameen did not disclose the contents of the letter but said it was a response to a letter Murad sent to Obama after he won the election last year.
On Friday, US State Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton urged the Philippine government and the MILF to conclude a peace deal before the end of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo's term next year....

Oddly enough, I was just reading an old (refreshingly politicallly incorrect) book that touched on the Moro problem of about 100 years ago and that they were such fanatical fighters the Army had to bump up to 45 caliber weapons. After the experience the Army made the Colt 45 automatics the standard sidearm.
Whatever Obama wrote to MILF, it's crazy even to talk to them. We can't lift terrorists to the status of dialogue partners, but that's obviously what Obama is doing.

Peace deals with Muslims are a snare and a delusion, and all Infidels who throughout history have foolishly relied upon treaties with Muslims have discovered that such might as well have been written upon toilet paper in disappearing ink.
Any 'peace deal' between the MILF and the non-Muslim Filipino state will be broken, I confidently predict, most likely sooner rather than later, by the Muslim side (though quite probably they will attempt to make it look as though their breach is 'provoked' by the non-Muslim side).
The reason lies in the fact that Muslims are not *allowed* to make permanent friendship or alliance with non-Muslims. Neither personal friendship nor political alliance is permitted...except feigningly and temporarily, if Muslims can be advantaged thereby.

He originally wrote it as a comment on the futile and delusive 'peace process' in the Middle East, between Israel and the local Arab Muslims; but I have taken the liberty of replacing the word 'Israel' with 'the Philippines', in order to show just how broadly applicable this principle is.

To the non-Muslim Filipinos, I say - sign *nothing* with the Muslims. Agree to *nothing* with the Muslims. Enforce your non-Muslim laws, confidently and to the letter. Defend your churches and your towns and your non-Muslim villagers, animist or Catholic or Protestant, with overwhelming force, against *any* attack by *any* Muslim entity whatsoever. If the Muslims sing out for a 'truce' or 'peace', they are most likely doing it because they are temporarily weakened and need a 'timeout' to regroup and rearm; if you possibly can, whenever they make such calls for 'peace', go right in and hit 'em harder. (I know, it goes against the grain; but it's the only logical thing to do, once one knows when and why Muslims are taught to make [temporary] agreement/ truce-treaty with Infidels).
And, to be frank, the 'Moros', any lingering remnants of whose pre-Islamic identity will be ultimately erased by the Arabo-Islamic imperial programming, don't belong within your sovereign state. They will *never* be content to live peaceably within a larger non-Islamic polity where non-Muslims are equals with, or dominate over, Muslims; their 'programming' perpetually drives them to try to dominate and domineer, to seize power, to destroy non-Islamic laws and institutions and replace them with...the Unlaw, the Antilaw that is sharia.
Either you *give* them exclusive possession and control of Mindanao and other Muslim-infested islands - in which case you had better evacuate all non-Muslims from those places first, for the Muslims once fully in control will sooner or later make the lives of the non-Muslims a living hell, and you had better also prepare to fend off Jihad launched with redoubled energy against your *other* islands from the newly Muslim states/ provinces; or you refuse to cede the Ummah, or Muslim Mob, one inch of ground beyond what it already holds, in which case you must physically evict every last Muslim from Mindanao and certain other islands, and prevent them from ever coming back.
This looks like MILF propaganda, for the only source cited is "a guerrilla official", as it gives them undeserved credibility and demoralises the government.

Insanity. The Philippines are a sovereign state, a democracy, and MILF is a brutal Muslim jihad insurgency that beheads civilians. That there should be a "peace deal" between these two entities is madness itself.
