This site would benefit if comments were carefully self-monitored, so that when irrevocably posted they are not heatedly exaggerated, and do not repel but, rather, help attract visitors to this site, either through what they contribute to the collective understanding or even, conceivably, through the allure of their prose.

All well and good Hugh, but my take is that granny and grandson are stretchers of the truth! She says she's Christian and now that appears to be a lie. Obama says he's Christian - well? Also, Granny says she was at Obama's birthing in Kenya - yeah, just another lie - so they say! So, when are the lies going to be exposed? Looks like now..........granny is a muslim through and through!

Non-Muslims are not permitted to enter Mecca under Saudi law.

The Saudi government supports their position using sura 9:28 from the Qur'an:

“O you who believe! the idolaters are nothing but unclean, so they shall not approach the Sacred Mosque after this year; and if you fear poverty then Allah will enrich you out of His grace if He please; surely Allah is Knowing Wise.”

Some few non-Muslims *have* made the Hajj—but they were posing as Muslims. The first to leave a record was Ludovico di Varthema of Bologna in 1503. The most famous account of a foreigner's journey to Mecca is "A Personal Narrative of a Pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina", written by Sir Richard Francis Burton. Burton traveled as a Qadiriyyah Sufi from Afghanistan named Abdullah.

*Any* non-Muslim who traveled to Mecca had to do so disguised as a Muslim, and knew they were taking their lives in their hands to do so if discovered.

While it *might* be impolitic for Saudi Arabia to execute such a person these days, individuals who use fake certificates of Muslim identity to enter will nonetheless be arrested and prosecuted by Saudi authorities.

That Barack Obama's grandmother would actually be the guest of the Saudi king without being vetted is simply not credible. She is clearly Muslim, as was her son, Obama's father.

This is not good. As was stated by the previous poster, non-Muslims are never, ever permitted to enter Mecca.

Granny was, (like Obama himself) always a muslim.

Obama is the Manchurian candidate, the impostor, usurper president who deceived America. The black racist church of Jeremiah Wright did not make Obama a Christian. Wright spews hatred and grievance theater just like the hate-preachers in the mosques that are shooting up like mushrooms all over the western world. The close affiliation with Luis Farrakhan's NOI, is no accident. 'Black Liberation Theology' is not so different from Islam, and switching the signs from 'church' to 'mosque' is no big effort.

Since he came to power, Obama has done nothing for America, but everything to weaken and destroy it. Obama is not 'post-racial' at all, and the thought of being the 'post-american' POTUS is even more worrying.

America has been deceived. America is still deceiving itself.

Is it a crime to be a muslim? Colin Powell (and many of his ilk) don't think so.

Those of us who know about Islam may think of Islam differently. In Islam, criminal activities to advance and to establish Islam is a virtue. Does this not make Islam a criminal organization?

Some of us would agree that it does.

So why is a member of a criminal organization the president of America?

The thing is, why did he and his supporters even feel the need to lie, if being a Muslim is all well and cool in and of itself? Kennedy, who faced similar concerns about his religious affiliation and to whom he might answer, felt no need to hide his Roman Catholicism. Why wouldn't they allow Americans to know who and what they were voting for? Why did they even feel the need for such dishonesty?

And as far as Mecca goes, be sure to do what I did, and look at it very closely via Google Earth. I did, and I hope my dirty khufr eyes tainted it by doing so.

Noteworthy is the ignorance of Katharine Houreld from the Associated Press who never followed up on these reports in 2008. Here is what she wrote then (from the first article):

Once again: lying to advance the Islamic cause. As Gravenimage above correctly pointed out, non-muslims are not allowed to enter Mecca. Now granny is an honored guest of Saudi king Abdullah.

Not "dirty tricks" here, just the ugly reality. The son of a muslim is automatically a muslim. We all know that. Why is it ignored? It is the dirty tricks of AP and the state run media that enabled the Muslim POTUS Obama.

The question is now how to limit the damage and how to get rid of him.

Researching the web, I have yet to find another article that says Grandmother Sarah Obama was a Christian, or ever said she was a Christian. Most have said that she was an ardent Muslim in fact. There was a story in Joseph Farah's website , World Net Daily I believe April of 2009 that Sarah was considering converting from being a Muslim to a Christian but her family, including President Obama made her change her mind, no doubt fearing she would be in great danger as a Apostate.

I was gonna ask: Did that big, honkin' highway sign that read "Mecca-- Muslims Only" fall down? Or, was it the other sign referring to the right exit ramp that read "All Others"?

It's right, what you're saying, no non-Muslim is allowed to enter the filthy towns of Mecca and Medina. We infidels are barred. So granny Obama must be a Mohammedan. But the real question is, whether she's really Obama's granny. To the best of my knowledge she was only married to Obama's grandpa, no bloodline involved. So these Mohammedans are only taking the piss out of us again and again. And we stupid Westerners let 'em do it.

I haven't seen any conclusive evidence that Obama is Muslim. To me he just seems leftward.

Robert Spencer accepts (or at any rate he certainly used to accept, does he still?) that Obama is Christian.

It is better to keep things focused on the topic under discussion. Also, it is best to be at least somewhat serious, since one's remarks do become a permanent part of the record. Brilliance or idiocy are permanently engraved in the archives, so people should take care.

Was the WH aware? "The Hajj is a demonstration of the solidarity of the Muslim people." The King invited "3,000 guests this year, almost 2,000 are relatives of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank." I guess another message is the deep bond with Obamas.

Is he a Muslim, deep down I think so. However, I am more concerned with his actions that are informed by his somewhat crazy conceptions of economics, social policy and politics. I am now getting more and more convinced that we were all conned by this puppet. After about 6 months into his presidency I became aware of his lightwieght approach, his aw shucks I'm a nice guy, his kowtowing to the Ummah, his complete inability to project American values or power, his massive ego, that he hides behind his nice guy mask. His recent visits to China are a case in point, he went, he asked nicely and was told to get lost. His indecision over Iraq and Afghanistan that has I believe, cost American and British lives and further undermined the mission (if I could ever understand what it was). His complete inablity to listen to those who are on the ground in these conflicts is instructive. About the only thing he has done is to push through the healthcare reforms. Even then I have great concerns about what this will mean for America. 1 Trillion dollars is a lot of money and given the state of the American economy it could be the straw that breaks the camels back. Basically I think he is all mouth and no trousers, I don't trust him and I don't like him and the more I see of him the more confirmed in my views I get. America is a great nation and has been the bulwark of freedom, sadly no more unless something changes.

Obama's preacher(Pastor Wright) has shown us that you can be a so-called christian and be just as radical as an Imam. I think we are making too much of this. It's easier to be the smartest man in the room than to be the wisest. I'm more concerned about the big O's stealth operations than the big granny's. Happy Thanksgiving.

It has been a year since obama was elected. He knew then he was headed to D.C. for at least four years. Why is it he hasn't been able to find a church to attend? Doesn't Wright have any D.C. Franchises? Christian obama, hmmmmmmmm
