Ya know, Pam would get more people out for these things if they planned for them to occur during the weekend.
Weekend would be good, but the hearing is on a weekday (Monday), of course, and I think it is important to rally on that day starting a little before the hearing time.
Just my opinion.
Court houses aren't open and judges and attorneys don't work on the weekends so we're stuck with what we get. But it will make the victory just that much sweeter.

I was so sad and outraged to hear that, despite all of the letters, emails and faxes that the governoe, the FDLE, and the Florida Department of Children and Families must have received (I sent letters and emails to all of them) those idiots in Florida had sent this poor girl back to Ohio and even more abuse from the court system there. Lately, I have become fearful of visiting this site, afraid that the next thing I read on here would be that Rifqa had had some "terrible accident" in Ohio or that her family had taken her back to Sri Lanka. But from the news of this rally it seems like there may yet be some hope. It's just that over the years, I find that our courts have continued to become less and less deserving of my espect or trust. I/we can only hope for the best.

At least Ohio youth authorities will realize that they are being watched—and that the scrutiny has not abated since Rifqa was sent back from Florida.

Don't know if it has been said before, but initially the family requested to come to America for medical reasons for their daughter to have surgery for her eye? I have yet to see that & isn't that in itself abuse, neglect???? I hope & pray that this is dragged out long enough that Rifqa will turn 18 & they have no legal hold over her. Or if I were her, when her family tried to leave the country, I would make such a hoopla at the airport they would not let me leave...... Just a thought...
She should simply assault one of the officers of the court. Or, if they try to take her to Sri Lanka, at the airport she could assault one of the TSA people. Then she would be detained and out of the custody of her evil mohametan parents.

Zonie is spot on, if Rifqa assaults one of the Child Services drones she'll be sent to Juvenile Hall. She'll do some time but its better than waiting for her parents to beat her to death.
Too bad those people who housed her in Florida didn't advise her of this emergency exit. Its the only one available for many young Muslim women who want to get away from their parents as the "state" doesn't recognize "honor killings" because of political correctness.
As it is, this is a deathwatch nothing more. Rifqa will one day be found dead, child services and law enforcement will be surprised and stupefied as usual. Her parents will then flee or be allowed to leave the country.
One more thing; Child Services where ever you go is filled with uncaring drones and total morons who only care about a pay check. We've had cases here in California where they visited foster parents and didn't even notice the young child they came to see was dead.

Could you please remove my previous comment. In retrospect it is clear that Rifka should not break the law and this would be unnecessary. It would be sufficient for her to raise an unholy stink at the airport. Passengers who use profane language are denied boarding. All that is needed is for her to curse out an airline employee and she would be denied boarding.

Dumbledore, yes I have a perpetual novena going to the Infant of Prague that I've said just about everyday since last November. When the Rifqa story came out I put her right on the list of people I pray for. I got it covered, hon.
Walt, I do not mean to bust your chops here but shame on you. This is not a deathwatch. There are many, many, many people working behind the scenes to find a solution for Rifqa's plight and Rifqa herself has the faith that moves mountains. We underestimate, in our post-Christian world, what that faith will produce. Do not lose heart. Be of good cheer. The troops are rallying around her and many of us will be there in Ohio to support her.
Ok explain one thing to me. How in the world is it that her parents were "Radical Muslim" and yet she "never herd of god". ask any muslim and they will tell you God = Allah and Allah = God. I find it hard to beleve that her perents were "radical" yet she never herd of god, jesus, or (and this is the shocking one to me because her parents are radical) Praying!! Even non radical muslims (which you people believe do not exist) pray. In fact if you dont pray your not even muslim. These are basic facts, my 10 year old brother has known this sense he was at the age of 6, yet this 16 year old girl has never "heard of praying" and her parents are "Radical".

Rallies like that should be organized through the country.
The justice system in this country is awful . Or Judges are not educated about the danger of Islam or they are corrupt and expose children to danger.
Rifqa has a few more months to go until she is 18 years old . She will not be off the hook. THIS IS WHEN MORE TROUBLE WILL START.
As long as her case is exposed. she is protected but later . she will be on her own.and this will be the right time for the radical Muslims to start acting against her.

Muhammad, this may take a little getting used to, but Christians don't believe in Allah. They do not equate butts in the air recitation of Arabic rote phrases with imploring the Almighty for strength, wisdom, guidance and salvation.
There is nothing observable in Islam, except for maybe feeding the poor, that a Christian would find recognizable in Islam, and then, only marginally, because a Christian would feed anyone who is hungry, while Muslims, in general, collect zakat only for other believers.

But just to take one of your points, reciting prayers in Arabic is not the same thing as praying for a Christian. To a Christian, praying is not repeating some words over and over. It is speaking to the God of the universe.
