Counter-terrorism police and Whitehall officials believe dozens of extremists could have arrived here by posing as students or legitimate visitors.
They are concerned both by the relatively lax checks that are made on the visitors before they arrive and by the ease with which they can outstay their visas without anyone noticing.
As many as 13,000 visa applicants may have entered the country from Pakistan in a seven month period since October last year without any checks on their supporting documentation.
The security services fear that because most do not mix with home grown terrorists, they are able to operate under the intelligence radar, acting as sleeper cells until ready to launch attacks in Britain.
Every year around 100,000 visitors arrive in Britain from Pakistan alone, which has been described by the Prime Minister as being part of a "crucible of terror" along with Afghanistan.
They are supposed to be checked by Home Office visa staff working in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
But according to an official watchdog, the Independent Monitor for Entry Clearance, many visa officers do not have "enough time to go through applications carefully".
The security services are also worried about arrivals from Somalia, Yemen and North Africa.
MI5 have got 2,000 domestic extremists under surveillance across the country but is becoming increasingly concerned about the threat from abroad.
Similar concerns are felt in the police and one senior counter-terrorism officer told the Daily Telegraph: "There is a lack of control and supervision at our borders in the broadest sense.
"The problem is not confined to Pakistan, terrorists could arrive from anywhere, and we simply have no idea how many extremists may be here."
Police have discovered that the leader of an alleged plot to blow up shopping centres in Manchester last Easter ran a visa advice service in Peshawar, Pakistan.
He is thought to have helped other alleged members of his terrorist cell to arrive from Pakistan under the cover of student visas.
At least one arrived to attend a course at a "bogus college" that had already had its accreditation withdrawn.
The discovery of the group based in Manchester and Liverpool earlier this year set off alarm bells among counter-terrorism officials who believed the threat was coming under control....
All of this proves, yet again, is that the political elite in Britain wish the complete destruction of their society. They are every bit as savage and barbaric in nature as the Muslim jihadist they import en mass.

I bet if you were to try to locate all those in country with "student visas".....you couldn't find most of them...

If visa officers can't properly investigate visa applications, why are they approving them?
Why would 13,000 Porkistanis come as "students"? What's the need for them to study in infidel schools? I thought the unholy koran has all the answers, as always claimed by green slimes.
Wasn't it just a few decades ago when, in "Dial M for Murder" the perfect Scotland Yard detective foils the plot concocted by Tony Wendice, played by Ray Milland to kill his wife, played Grace Kelly (come to think of it, what man, no matter how many debts he had, if married to Grace Kelly would plan to kill her?)? And Nipper Read? And Slipper of the Yard?
Now one has the feeling that half of the British security services, or at least those who set policy, are determined to act as if there is nothing wrong with Islam, in order not to offend the very people who have no right to be offended and ought to be taught that the English are now on a very short leash, and ill-inclined to listen to any more nonsense from those who do not wish them well, and cannot, because of the texts and tenets of Islam, successfully integrate into any advanced Western society save in the most outward and superficial sense (as long as they remain true to Islam, and exactly to the extent that they do).
Everything -- the most obvious of things -- still comes, or is announced, as a "surprise." And these "alarm bells" that are suddenly set off by what Stanley Holloway would call the bleedin' obvious -- how much more of this clouseauvian keystone-koppery are the people of Great Britain expected to endure?

Finally noticing the elephant in the room...
Someone above aptly called this invasion an "army", an army of muslims from the most primitive, fanatical, rabid, retrograde hellhole on earth---Pakistan. How many Pakistani immigrants does the U.K. need? Aren't most of them unemployed welfare recipients who do nothing but spawn an infinte number of undesirable, inbred offspring?
If the British political elite wanted to destroy British culture and replace it with something else, why did they choose a dysfunctional, futile, psychotic culture to emulate? What could they possibly find redemptive or admirable about these people, their pernicious religious beliefs, their arrogant, hostile, supremacist ethos, or their putrescent culture?
I am afraid the Pakistani vote decides who wins in at least 20 parliamentary constituencies. Under the British system this is often enough to decide who forms a government so all 3 main parties must crawl to them.
The stage has been reached when even the BBC admits the internal politics of Pakistan are an issue in Britain. When they arrested 12 Pakistani students earlier this year the Pakistani President retaliated by publicly humiliating the UK Prime Minister. Brown was in Pakistan at the time and he was told the President was too busy to meet him.
What are we criticizing? This is happenig here in far, far greater numbers.
