In Human Events this morning I discuss a few things Nidal Hasan's PowerPoint has in common with other presentations of Islam we've seen in the past:
Before he killed or wounded 54 Americans at Fort Hood on November 5, army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan had raised eyebrows with his Islamic proselytizing, which he carried on even when he was supposed to be conducting medical briefings. One such presentation has come to light: the June 2007 briefing which Hasan gave to other doctors at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Hasan's PowerPoint slides say many of the same things found in jihadist literature and propaganda throughout the Middle East and among its apologists here in America.Hasan's Islam is rooted in traditional understandings of the faith as taught by the authoritative schools of Sunni Muslim jurisprudence. It also is the same Islam that is taught by groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and Al-Qaeda.
In arguing that the Koran mandates defensive jihad against unbelievers, Hasan invokes the same Koranic verse that Osama bin Laden used as an epigraph on his "Letter to the American People" of October 2002: "Permission to fight (against disbelievers) is given to those (believers) who are fought against, because they have been wronged; and surely, Allah is able to give them victory."
Hasan also explains that Muslims are obligated to wage offensive jihad against unbelievers, with ominous taglines in his PowerPoint such as "we love death more than you love life." He quotes the Koranic verse calling for war against the "People of the Book" (that is, mainly Jews and Christians) until they "pay the tax in acknowledgment of [Islamic] superiority and they are in a state of subjection" (9:29). Hasan apparently told the assembled (and no doubt stunned) physicians that Muslims had a religious obligation to make war against and subjugate non-Muslims as inferiors under their rule.
Hasan's Islam coincides with that of the jihad terror group Hamas, which has announced its intention, once fully and firmly ensconced in power, to collect that Koran-mandated tax -- jizyah -- from the non-Muslims luckless enough to live within its domains. Most importantly of all, however, he makes the case that Muslims must not fight against other Muslims (as is mandated by Koran 4:92). Ominously, he recommends that because of this injunction, "Department of Defense should allow Muslims [sic] Soldiers the option of being released as 'Conscientious objectors' to increase troop morale and decrease adverse events."
Adverse events, perhaps, like his own jihad at Fort Hood. For he warned in his PowerPoint that "Muslims may be seen as moderate (compromising) but God is not." And further, "if Muslim groups can convince Muslims that they are fighting for God against injustices of the 'infidels'; ie: enemies of Islam, then Muslims can become a potent adversary ie: suicide bombing, etc."
It is this desire to correct the "injustices of the 'infidels' that has led the Muslim Brotherhood, the international Islamic organization (which operates under a variety of names in the United States), to engage in what it calls a "grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and 'sabotaging' its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions." Hasan couldn't disagree -- not with his talk of offensive jihad and quoting of Muhammad the Islamic prophet saying, "I have been commanded to fight the people until they testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah..."
And Allah, Nidal Hasan reminded his audience in his PowerPoint, "expects full loyalty. Promises heaven and threatens with hell." The clear trajectory of his argument is that Muslims may lay hold of that promise of heaven by waging war against Infidels, but that hell awaited those Muslims who might be foolish and traitorous enough to side with the Infidels and fight alongside them against Muslims.
No one in government or law enforcement has ever made any attempt to determine how prevalent such understandings of Islam are among Muslims in the United States. Yet it is of cardinal importance for those sworn to protect us to begin making such an attempt now. As we saw at Fort Hood, the lives of innocent people depend on it.
l cannot understand how anyone in the audience did not speak up to this coward and tell to take his cult back to the land of the sowdis? where are the men? l think Rush is right about our society have chickified and or pc to death!
The Commander-in-Chief will sweep this explicit depiction of Jihad intentions under the rug and define it as case of a madman twisting the dogma of The Religion of Peace. The Obama administration has been in damage control while Husan's guns were still smoking and Americans began bleeding at Fort Hood. This was just another "man made disaster" is the motto of Obama's regime and all his underlings will tow the line including the spineless Army leader, Casey, who worries more about diversity than dead Americans.
For our survival pc has to stop. We who follow this and other sites that speak up and inform us know that muslims are on a conquest and will not stop ever until they die or subjugate us. The only solution is to deny them entry into any and all positions in our society for they can Hasan us at any time. This does not go against our sense of freedom and liberty for all it is just a realization of the facts so we must be willing to take drastic steps to ensure our way of life for future generations. A screening of all mosques must be made. Those that are anti-Infidel must be closed immediately and rabble rousers (being polite) must be deported. An extreme measure would be to deport all family members in the hope that "bad" muslims will fall into line. But that's hoping.

I think we can say Hasan's Islam corresponds to Islam period. It is the Islam of Muhammad and practiced for centuries and IMO we we should reject the attitude of the politicians, major media and their useful-idiot pundits that that this is only some militant aberration of Islam. "Moderate" Muslims, I suspect, mostly accept this as Islam, won't say so to Infidels (at least Hasan was honest on this point), and just choose not to take action on it - i.e., the decide to live peacefully in the dar al-Harb while their birth rate eventually does the rest accommodated by the Infidel's stupidity wrt immigration. Thus they pretend faithful citizenship until some grievance, guilt & fear of all that hell-fire the Koran emphasized, builds up enough to spark a sudden Jihad.

How exactly can the Govt do that? And even if they could what could it do with the information? We are too much hamstrung here by our Constitution, which, as Judge Richard Posner writes, is not a suicide pact.

They would have made such an attempt in private and come to the same conclusion that most of us rational people have come to: islam is the problem.
But unless the PC atmosphere is diluted, no one (with a few notable exceptions) will stick his/her neck out and say it.

Brachman states that after the destruction of the training bases in Afghanistan Jihadists turned to the internet to get out the word. Through videos like this and chat rooms, they spur inhabitants from feckless complaining to action.
He and others in the Combating Terrorism Center actually track the IP addresses and catalog the postings on such blogs. His commentary is quite interesting. A google search of Brachman's name will yield some articles he has authored.
I couldn't agree more. This is a sad yet very SCARY commentary on the mindset of the audience. That they would subject themselves, without protest or escape, to ideological propaganda instead of a medical briefing speaks volumes about these 'doctors'...

Indeed, I am aware of no such studies asking Muslims straight, clear questions about these important matters. And some polling and survey organizations, such as Gallup, have been compromised in high positions by Islamic activists (e.g., Dahlia Mogahed) and Saudi-funded Islam propagandists (e.g., Esposito)--and it shows in what they've produced. Clearly, we need reliable studies, in the U.S. and in other countries, that give us a clear idea of what percentage of Muslims support (a) jihad against non-Muslim soldiers, (b) harsh penalties for apostates and Islam critics, (c) honor killings, etc.
We cannot make risk assessments, which can save lives, without having some estimates of what percentage of Muslims believes or is willing to do x actions in response to y non-Muslim behaviors or expressions. We need further study to determine the level of accuracy (e.g., due to deception, etc.) of such surveys and polls, and more undercover investigations of radical mosques.
