The mainstream media, of course, is still searching for a motive.

I am very sorry for the deaths of the soldiers and the pain that will be suffered by their families.
Obviously greater care needs to be taken, and the use of rubber bullets in the use home bases be taken up.
As for saying something whilst shooting...I;m sure that he probably did in the heat of the moment.
At least he cannot do more damage. Please bear in mind as Mr. Obhama said , that all muslims cannot be held responsible for this act.

The spin I saw was an article about how there had been a lot of emotional suffering with all of the losses from soldiers that had been in Iraq and Afgan but had come through Hood. It also said that more soldiers had died from Hood than any other military base in the US. This is misleading because Ft. Hood is the biggest base in the US so it stands to reason that the number would be higher.
This article is misleading for another reason. The author is projecting his/her experience instead of facts. In the military people are moved all of the time. Connections are made but it is not like a midwestern town were everyone grew-up together. I am not saying that someone is not upset over this. The family may not be at Hood. I am an army brat, I know how it is on post.
My local news has not said anything about the Islamic connection, sad.
FX news,with Shepard Smith, had interview with cousin of shooter.
1. He was muslim from birth.
2. He was politically against US involvement in IRAQ
3. He had documented fights with others regarding west vs Islam

What does "waking up" mean? Just wondering. For me it means declaring Islam a cult within the U.S., confiscating all land, and property owned by Islamic institutions. What then would you do with the 7 million Muslims that are here, many of whom are born citizens who converted? Islam is clearly a threat to our constitution, and peace .... but what do you do? How do you erase it? Mass deportations ... internment of those that don't become apostates?

I have said this before, declare, Islam, a political entity that means the over throw of the US Constitution to be illigal and cannot be practiced or anyone allowed to be in the military or hold any government office or be affiliated with any legal organization in the country. Put it in the same class as the KKK, Nazi and John Birch Society. This would free-up any legal blocks. Then a law could be passed to shut down training camps, mosques and ask muslims to renounce Islam or leave. If any are caught penalties would be stronger after they had signed off from Islam.
