And it did not do so out of fear of being accused of "Islamophobia." More bitter fruit of political correctness: "Threat of jihad infiltration did not factor into U.S. Army's screening process," from the World Tribune, November 23 (thanks to Mackie):
WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Army, fearing political repercussions, refused to consider the prospect of infiltration by Al Qaida supporters.A former senior army official told Congress that the military service drafted guidelines on a range of scenarios, including racism. But the army, despite the recruitment of thousands of Muslims, many of them converts, failed to examine prospects of infiltration by Al Qaida and other Islamists.
"Clearly we don't have specific guidelines in dealing with jihadist extremists," [Ret.] Gen. John Keane, former army vice chief of staff, told the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
Of course not. We hardly even admit they exist.
Exactly what will it take to finally throw PC into the trashcan where it rightly belongs? A bunch of cities turned to rubble by the usual suspects thanks to suitcase nukes? Sometimes I think even THAT won't be enough for a lot of people.
The hapless, clueless dhimmi.
No wonder Muhammad Atta was quoted as dismissing the concerns of a co-conspirator of the 9-1 plot possibly being foiled: "the enemy is stupid"...were his exact words.
Had the US Army been taking stupid pills, or what?
Well the Pentagon paid military personal like Major Coughlin to produce a study on Islam. His thesis on Islam was so thorough when it came to the Islamic threat that one Major Hesham Islam complained and wanted Major Coughlin dismissed. Hesham Islam had the ear of the 2nd in command in the Pentagon David England. What this clearly reflected is even at the highest levels of the Pentagon, the perverted infestation of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS and MULTICULTURALISM exists. And yet these people are supposed be defenders of our nation and they are in fact playing paddy cake with the jihadist aspect that is the greatest threat to America since WWII.
Yes even in the Pentagon political correctness is still alive and well. You would think that the one thing that creates political correctness in the American society IE THE TRIAL LAWYERS would be able to demonstrate immunity from the enforcers of political correctness, but apparently not.
Thank God the rest of us can be prepared, eh? I'm just sayin'...

Oh, never mind...
Sometimes I imagine that the main intent of Political Correctness, is to place us all in a state of learned helplessness.
"We (the armed forces) can't screen for homicidal maniacs, because it will hurt someone's feelings."
Better than an emetic, or even a laxative. Uh, excuse me, while I--
Clearly we don't have specific guidelines in dealing with jihadist extremists.
Sheesh. In Korea we couldn't hit the Mig-15 bases in China that were being used against us, for fear of "escalating the conflict". Same thing for attacking ships coming into Haiphong harbor loaded with Russian SAM's whose sole purpose was to kill our thud pilots in Vietnam. This is actually much worse--we have to lay ourselves open to attack by our avowed enemies for fear of offending them. Has Robert McNamara come back as a muslim convert to advise the BHO administration?

Now it's been proven that Political Correctness kills.
U.S. Army never considered the possibility that jihadis might infiltrate it

On 23 March 2003, Sgt. Hasan Akbar threw hand grenades into a tent during early morning hours when most of the troops were sleeping at Camp Pennsylvania, Kuwait. He then fired his rifle into the ensuing chaos.
The attack killed Army Captain Christopher Seifert and Air Force Major Gregory Stone and wounded 14 other soldiers.
Akbar made no bones about the Islamic nature of his attack—fellow soldiers found him after the assault cowering in a bunker with shrapnel injuries, ranting, “You guys are coming into our countries, and you’re going to rape our women and kill our children.”
He made an entry in his diary in the month proceeding the attack: "I may not have killed any Muslims, but being in the Army is the same thing. I may have to make a choice very soon on who to kill."
Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan referred to Akbar during one of his lectures on Islam for his fellow medical students—and he referred to him *with approval*.
How short is the military's memory? How can this have caught them by surprise?
Maybe our Military Leadership should play a serious game of If-History and try to imagine adherents of State Shinto in Macarthur's Army.
Dunder-Mifflin level bunglers and arrogant clueless asses.
Much has yet to be learned. It will be leanred eventually but only after many terrible costs. Of course, the rub of it all is quite simple. Just conclude Islam is evil and everything else will start to fall into place. But until this is done, crime after crime, tragedy after tragey, useless endeavor after useless endeavor will occur, coutesy of Islam.
