I already wrote about this here, but it is illuminating to see the whole statement, with its Koran quotation and Islamic arguments. Those who are claiming that Hasan's actions had nothing to do with Islam need to confront these arguments and explain them. Otherwise, they are only abetting the problem by allowing American Muslim advocacy groups to continue their denial and obfuscation rather than calling upon them to confront, renounce, and work against jihadism, or else face prosecution under existing sedition laws.
Anwar al-Awlaki is the former imam of the Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Virginia, which Hasan frequented -- as did three of the 9/11 hijackers.
"Nidal Hassan Did the Right Thing," by Anwar alAwlaki, November 9 (thanks to Axel):
Nidal Hassan is a hero. He is a man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Muslim and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people. This is a contradiction that many Muslims brush aside and just pretend that it doesn't exist. Any decent Muslim cannot live, understanding properly his duties towards his Creator and his fellow Muslims, and yet serve as a US soldier. The US is leading the war against terrorism which in reality is a war against Islam. Its army is directly invading two Muslim countries and indirectly occupying the rest through its stooges.Nidal opened fire on soldiers who were on their way to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. How can there be any dispute about the virtue of what he has done? In fact the only way a Muslim could Islamically justify serving as a soldier in the US army is if his intention is to follow the footsteps of men like Nidal.
The heroic act of brother Nidal also shows the dilemma of the Muslim American community. Increasingly they are being cornered into taking stances that would either make them betray Islam or betray their nation. Many amongst them are choosing the former. The Muslim organizations in America came out in a pitiful chorus condemning Nidal's operation.
The fact that fighting against the US army is an Islamic duty today cannot be disputed. No scholar with a grain of Islamic knowledge can defy the clear cut proofs that Muslims today have the right -rather the duty- to fight against American tyranny. Nidal has killed soldiers who were about to be deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in order to kill Muslims. The American Muslims who condemned his actions have committed treason against the Muslim Ummah and have fallen into hypocrisy.
Allah(swt) says: Give tidings to the hypocrites that there is for them a painful punishment - Those who take disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do they seek with them honor [through power]? But indeed, honor belongs to Allah entirely. (al-Nisa 136-137) [Koran 4:136-137]
The inconsistency of being a Muslim today and living in America and the West in general reveals the wisdom behind the opinions that call for migration from the West. It is becoming more and more difficult to hold on to Islam in an environment that is becoming more hostile towards Muslims.
May Allah grant our brother Nidal patience, perseverance and steadfastness and we ask Allah to accept from him his great heroic act. Ameen
The right to free speech is not limitless.
I think this man should be arrested and charged with treason.
It is becoming more and more difficult to hold on to Islam in an environment that is becoming more hostile towards Muslims.

The bray of the eternal victim. The West is the best place to practice islam as we haven't managed to convince the majority that your RoP is a cult. It will happen soon and then moslems are going to feel a real backlash.
For me it can't happen soon enough. I will happily vote for any politician who runs an anti-islam campaign.
note: the theatre for warring is now changed in the minds of the adherents.
no more nice
You eloquently make the case for banning all Muslims from the USA. THANK YOU.
Don't ever come back.
Odyessus
I doubt he can be arrested since he already fled to the Yemen.
On one point I most heartily agree with him.
That is that Muslims have no place in the West and should emigrate. Maybe then there will be enough educated Muslims to improve the lot of their ancestral homes and defeat those like the Taliban who are murderous lawless Muslims killing other Muslims on the pretext of their "holy book" .
A win situation for all?
"The inconsistency of being a Muslim today and living in America and the West in general reveals the wisdom behind the opinions that call for migration from the West. "
AMEN!
If you don't like America, please leave. Go live in an Islamic hellhole somewhere else.
I find it very frustrating that there is no way to deport this guy and others like him (like the 2 guys who run "Revolution Muslim" website. I saw on CNN that they praised Hasan too).
This will get more bloody.
And more people will die.
There is no need to deport the sheikh, since he is already living in Yemen. At least he's practicing what he preaches. We need a way to make sure he never comes back.

Listen to what this Imam is saying—he is urging Muslims in America (I won't say "American Muslims") to join the service as a *deliberate fifth column*, with the *deliberate intention of murdering their fellow soldiers*.
Deceit and murder—this is what this pious Muslim considered "virtue".

To wake Westerners up about Muslims and their 7th century mindset, help them learn the history of Islam's rise and spread so they won't be surprised at what they do anymore, starting with the Historyscoper's rocking free site at http://go.to/islamhistory
Muslims believe they have a human right that others do not possess.
Muslims believe they have the human right of never hearing criticism.
Criticism of Islam is called 'fitna' and is a capital crime which any Muslim may punish by carrying out the death sentence.
This is what Dr. Hassan did.
