But apparently reining in this mass murderer before he murdered 13 people would have been "Islamophobic."
"Officials: U.S. Aware of Hasan Efforts to Contact al Qaeda," by Richard Esposito, Matthew Cole and Brian Ross for ABCNews, November 9 (thanks to all who sent this in):
U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.It is not known whether the intelligence agencies informed the Army that one of its officers was seeking to connect with suspected al Qaeda figures, the officials said.
One senior lawmaker said the CIA had, so far, refused to brief the intelligence committees on what, if any, knowledge they had about Hasan's efforts.
CIA director Leon Panetta and the Director of National Intelligence, Dennis Blair, have been asked by Congress "to preserve" all documents and intelligence files that relate to Hasan, according to the lawmaker....
The Army Chief of Staff, General George Casey, raised concerns over the weekend that innocent Muslim soldiers could suffer as a result of the shooting at Fort Hood.
"I think the speculation (on Hasan's Islamic roots) could potentially heighten backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers," he said on ABC's "This Week."
General, you're a dhimmi tool.
If the C.I.A. knew then BHO knew. If BHO knew then you can be sure that General Casey knew.
This is sounding more and more like Political Correctness over common sense.
If someone chooses to be moslem then they should be barred from service in any area of the U.S. military, judicial or government system in the same way that a pedophile should be kept away from children.
I don't care about a persons 'hurt feelings' when they choose to be a follower of such a cult and feel left out.
Religion is a choice.
Worth your time
Watch this CNN Video: New York Muslims praise Fort Hood Mass murderer.
You may recognize one of these converts who has in the past sent comments to Robert Spencer and the Jihadwatch forum.

I saw Gen Casey's interview and its appalling to me that the non-Muslim victims of this jihadi scum have not even been buried and he expressed his concern about a "backlash" against "innocent" Muslims. What backlash is that? This Muslim Major is a traitor, a mass murderer and jihadi who needs to be executed sooner rather then later. That should be the General's focus and primary concern not some imaginary backlash. There are 13 dead American soldiers because this scum was allowed to remain in the military. Who knew about him? Was Barack Hussein Obama notified that this traitor attempted to contact AQ? Was this traitor allowed to remain in the military because of the new President's policies?
I saw the video and you'd think that they'd be run off by at least SOME of the 'moderate' and peace-loving moslems from the mosque they stand outside of.
What does this tell us?

.................
Hasan was *trying to contact al Qaeda*? How is this different from an American soldier trying to contact the Nazis during WWII?
And the Army was just going to go blithely ahead—not just leaving Hasan unmolested, but deploying him to a hot war zone, where treacherously contacting al Qaeda would be easy?
If trying *to contact the enemy during wartime* is not grounds for a court marshall, what is?
One knew. The other knew; documents must be hidden; briefings must be restricted ...
Doesn't it smell like a cover up?
I saw the video too. Which one sent comments to Jihadwatch?
I was kind of frustrated that the reporter didn't ask the "moderate" imam one question. A very easy one would've been: What about the fact that these guys say they are commanded to "terrorize" non-believers by the Koran? I would've liked to see the imam who said that Islam is about peace, tolerance and brotherhood answer that one.
"The Army Chief of Staff, General George Casey, raised concerns over the weekend that innocent Muslim soldiers could suffer as a result of the shooting at Fort Hood."
That is the problem. Even Army Major Nidal Hasan was probably an "innocent Muslim soldier" until he went on his shooting rampage. Had an effort been made to prosecute him prior to the rampage, there would have been no conviction. After, it was too late. Yet, his sympathies were apparent, and he never should have been allowed to remain in the military.
The problem is that if we wish to allow freedom of religion in the military, we need to figure out which "religions" should qualify as religions, and which are political ideology masking as religion. Political correctness prevents us from acknowledging the fact that free exercise of religion in regard to Muslim soldiers who take the teachings and example of Mohammed and his successors seriously must include the waging of jihad against infidels. No true Muslim will place loyalty to the nation over loyalty to his religion and the ummah.
Watched the CNN video and it made think...
Somebody in NYC, or wheresoever it might be, needs to get one of the handouts offered by these assholes and then put together brochures countering whatever is in the handouts.
Then get together a team of big bad counter-protesters and go right up to the same stretch of street, right next to these dirtbags, and stand against their seditious lies by speaking the truth and handing out brochures that tell the truth.
If these lying Muslims ~ sorry for the redundancy ~ can do it, we can do it. We have a right to be on the same spot at the same time saying what our First Amendment rights permit us to say. If push comes to shove, then maybe it's time to shove back.
"L'audace, l'audace, toujours l'audace."
I just heard on KCBS News radio that Nidal Hasan is awake.
The newscaster mentioned that there was a search for where Hasan "had been radicalized". That might not have been quite how I would phrase it—nonetheless, it was refreshing to hear a major news outlet acknowledge that Hasan was acting in the name of Islam.
"U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.

It is logical to conclude from the above that the intelligence agencies chose to wait on Major Hasan to make his connections with Al-Qaeda and then to procede from there with their other objectives. It is unfortunate that the Major simply went amok before these connections were made. This is always a danger when surveilling suspected terrorists, that their "Jihad Moment" will arrive before the arrest warrants.
It is a genuine challenge to balance the considerations of public safety against the legitimate needs of intelligence collection and investigators are to be commended for being able to break up most of these conspiracies before any real damage is done. In most of them, more than one person is involved, communications are passed between them, and it is a relatively easy matter to eavesdrop and judge the mental state of the conspirators and the readiness of their plot for implementation. In Major Hasan's case, he seemed to be working alone and there were no actual communications with others (as yet known), so there was no legal reason to arrest him or to get a warrant for a search. Investigators may have been giving him his head in the expectation that he would make geniune connections after deployment overseas.
The various observations from Major Hasan's colleagues that were unreported because of fear of censure for bigotry point up a failure in the system of "looking after your neighbors." These observations may have been important in managing the investigation and allowing the investigators to make a wiser decision about an earlier intervention, which would have saved lives.
That intervention would have been critically important to general strategic interests, saved lives, and possibly even have been of great help to Major Hasan in rescuing him from his demons.
We are in an undeclared war with Islamic Fundamentalism and whether you like it or not, you are one of the combatants according to the doctrine of Islam as stated by Allâh in his Holy Koran. If you have an "observation" about questionable behaviour of a Muslim, don't be afraid to talk about it to the authorities. The worst thing that could happen is that your concerns were justified but not acted upon and people died. Don't be afraid of being thought of as a bigot, you may save someone's life.
That's more important!
If the military and politicians knew about this then they each should be held accountable.
This isn't just incompetence it is treason.
