Andy McCarthy: Somebody at Fort Hood Should Be Walking the Plank

The always superb Andy McCarthy expands on the post here:

Prepare to be infuriated.

It's been brought to my attention by several reliable sources that the Defense Department has brought Louay Safi to Fort Hood as an instructor, and that he has been lecturing on Islam to our troops in Fort Hood who are about to deploy to Afghanistan. Safi is a top official of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), and served as research director at the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT).

Worse, last evening, Safi was apparently permitted to present a check (evidently on behalf of ISNA) to the families of the victims of last month's Fort Hood massacre. A military source told the blogger Barbarossa at the Jawa Report: "This is nothing short of blood money. This is criminal and the Ft. Hood base commander should be fired right now."

ISNA was identified by the Justice Department at the Holy Land Foundation terrorism financing conspiracy trial as an unindicted co-conspirator. The defendants at that trial were convicted of funding Hamas to the tune of millions of dollars. This should have come as no surprise. ISNA is the Muslim Brotherhood's umbrella entity for Islamist organizations in the United States. It was established in 1981 to enable Muslims in North America "to adopt Islam as a complete way of life" -- i.e., to further the Brotherhood's strategy of establishing enclaves in the West that are governed by sharia. As I detailed in an essay for the April 20 edition of NR, the Brotherhood's rally-cry remains, to this day, "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Koran is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope." The Brotherhood's spiritual guide, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who issued a fatwa in 2004 calling for attacks on American forces in Afghanistan, openly declares that Islam will "conquer America" and "conquer Europe."

Also established in 1981, the IIIT is a Saudi funded think-tank dedicated, it says, to the "Islamicization of knowledge" -- which, Zeyno Baran (in Volume 6 of the Hudson Institute's excellent series, "Current Trends in Islamist Ideology") has aptly observed, "could be a euphemism for the rewriting of history to support Islamist narratives." Years ago, the Saudis convinced the United States that the IIIT should be the military's go-to authority on Islam. One result was the placement of Abdurrahman Alamoudi to select Muslim chaplains for the armed forces. Alamoudi has since been convicted of terrorism and sentenced to 23 years in federal prison.

There is much more. Read it all.

What likely happened is this. Various Muslims have been calculating what public relations effort they should make, how cleverly they can smooth things over. They hit upon this; Louay Safi would contact the miliitary, and ask sweetly and sadly, if he might, as a representative of "America's Muslim community," travel to Fort Hood, and "personally express the sorrow of that community" and "offer a small token" (words to that effect) to the "families" of the "people killed" on "that terrible day."

What could the American military do? At that point, if they had said "no, it would not be appropriate" then someoone could rightly foresee that Louay Safi, and all of his "sorrowful" Muslims who had so carefully and cunningly calculated their strategy, would seem to be turning away "America's Muslim community" with its "expression of" (compassion, sympathy, grief, chose any one of those utterly, in this case, phony nouns). They probably worried that if they turned him down, he would go public, and not just his group, but all the others that work together or together separately -- including CAIR -- would mournfully appear on talk shows, asking why, why, could they not, as
"fellow Americans" and "loyal Americans" (which means: they don't break the obvious laws, about jaywalking and filing tax returns (though there's plenty of tax fiddling, in those "cash only" Arab-owned gas stations and convenience stores) , even as they work, in a larger and much more dangerous way, to slowly undo the political and legal institutions that underlie everything, and that are flatly contradicted by the letter and spirit of the Shari'a, come to Fort Hood, and express his "sorrow" and that of the "American Muslim community."

The Commandant may not even have known -- let's find out -- that Louay Safi came with his little gifts (checks? money order? PayPal accounts replenished? Oh, blood money can come in so many different forms these days). He might have addressed the group, and then, before anyone knew what was happening, offered his phony little financial "expression of our sorrow."

Let's find out exactly how it happened, how cleverly Louay Safi and those who planned this with him operated, how they calculated every step.

What should the army have done? It should have said: No, it would not be appropriate "at this time" while investigations are going on, for anyone to visit Fort Hood. In other words, turn Louay Safi and his -- what should have been obvious -- p.r. stunt down, perhaps suggesting that the military would be grateful if Louay Safi's group, and other Muslims, forthrightly denounced the concept of "Jihad" -- now that would have been something, wouldn't it? Turn the p.r. tables on them, and ask them to do exactly what they cannot, as Muslims, do, but that most everyone, ignorant of Islam, thinks they should have no trouble doing, if they are not those "violent extremists" that Obama and Gates and everyone and his brother keep talking about.

The Muslim p.r. effort is clever, but the Western world is full of people who are cleverer, and it is only a question of asking the right people to help (think of the talent -- the refugees from Eastern Europe and Russia - who helped during the Cold War). But so far they are not being asked.

Ande what is worse, the Baby-Huey tromp-tromp-tromp of a gigantic military, sent here and sent there on misdirected missions, on a Fool's Errand that is intended to build up not one, not two, but three Muslim armies (those of Iraq, of Afghanistan, of Pakistan), and to make these countries better places thanks to tens or hundreds of billions of dollars in American (Infidel) aid, because we think there is a discrete enemy (Al Qaeda, or "the Taliban"), of "violent extremists" or "violent extremist Jihadists" (the words are piled-on, in the hope that with all the words, the absence of sense will not be noticed),

Is there, anywhere in the vastnesses of the Pentagon, an office of War Propaganda, designed to foil and checkmate the enemy. What is that enemy? I'd define that enemy as follows: all those who believe in Jihad (the struggle to remove all obstacles to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam, everywhere in the world, by whatever means prove most effective).

A little intelligence, plesse. It would go a long way. It could even have saved this country, in the last few years, oh, round about three trillion dollars. Why, that could pay for a lot of health care, education, road and bridge repair, solar and wind plant subsidies, nuclear plants. We'd all feel a lot better. We'd like to see some low cunning in high places. And then, with all that money not sent to build up Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, or any other Muslim state or society, we could concentrate on making common cause with those who are awakening in Europe, and trying to prevent, as best they can, the islamization of the historic heart of the West, without which America would not and can not exist.

And at home, we could all calm down, and many more be friends...with benefits.

What ever happened to this? Did it get deleted?

The text of the Constitutional Oath is not written in the Constitution, but the current oath was enacted by Congress in 1862. "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God."

................

Repulsive. And how many of the families will understand what the organization proffering this blood money represents?

New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, a month after the horrific attacks of 9/11, shows how it is done:

"Giuliani rejects $10 million from Saudi prince"

http://archives.cnn.com/2001/US/10/11/rec.giuliani.prince/

Too bad there wasn't anyone at Fort Hood with the same kind of intestinal fortitude.

What American troops at Fort Hood really need to know (but won't be told) about Islam is quite simple and can be briefly stated: 1) the term "radical Islam" is redundant; 2) the term "Islamic thought" is an oxymoron. Lesson over.

Hugh's likely explanation above only explains why the military acceded to Safi coming to Fort Hood to express his "sorrow" and hand out checks. It does nothing to explain why the military actually sought Safi out to provide advice and even "training" to military personnel, as McCarthy claims is happening.

I'm thinking of a word ................. World War II ..................... Norway ................. "Quisling" - That's it! Quisling!.

Andy McCarthy's article is excellent, but it contains some glaring typos. Doesn't NR have enough money to pay for proofreaders!? Did Buckley take all his money with him to his grave?

Will we never learn? No muslins in our military and other vital services.

Shaykh Joe is right, the Moslems probably will win.

*** 9:3 ***

We've got professors at the Nat'l Defense University denying that physical Jihad exists, we've got PetroDollar whore professors at universities from coast-to-coast denying that Islam's texts and sacralized histories exist, we've got the FBI and CIA launching Affirmative Action programs to get Moslems into our national security apparatus, and we've got our news entertaiment celebrities babbling on ad nauseum about Moderate Moslems:

* Michael Savage blew hard on nat'l radio a month ago about how "Most Moslems in America are good people who just want to raise their kids and live in peace."

* Glenn Beck claimed a few months ago that he "Read the Koran and didn't see anything calling for violence in it."

*** 92:8 ***

We've got problems. Cognitive problems. Cognitive dissonance problems.

Walk the plank? I think that's Navy.

Someone at Ft. Hood shouldn't be at Ft. Hood.

A little bit off-topic, but can anyone give an explanation of what "unindicted co-conspirator" means exactly, understandable for a European?
I read this qualification again and again and I have an idea of what it means but it seems really important. I saw a video with some Esposito-type (maybe it was him self) suggesting that it meant nothing more than being accused and declared innocent. How can I counter that?

From Wiki: An indicted co-conspirator is a person or entity that is alleged in an indictment to have engaged in conspiracy, but who is not charged in the same indictment. Prosecutors choose to name persons as indicted co-conspirators for a variety of reasons including grants of immunity, pragmatic considerations, and evidentiary concerns.

HTH

Sorry, my post should read should read 'An unindicted co-conspirator...'.

So basically a prosecutor, another one or the same, can still charged him or it later? There is NO judgement whatsoever on the guilt or innocence of the person or entity?

As I keep saying, we have both enemy infiltration and treason in the ranks of our military.

And the fish rots from the head. This is coming from and facilitated by the topmost ranks.

Whether it is treason by commission or omission is not significant. We get just as dead either way.

I think it's high time we started focusing more energy and attention and energy on liberating our own armed forces from the grip of the jihaddis.

The liberation of Afghanistan would be nice to see, were it indeed even possible. But the liberation of the American army is far more important to our survival as a free country.

And don't you imagine for a minute that the other side doesn't know this.

To defend the honour of Islam is more important than to defend the constitution and the country. Dimwits kafirs like to tie their arms fighting against the biggest liars who bury their heads in the sand to defend their belief at all cost insisting that Islam is peace and they will kill you just because you do not agree that Islam is a religion of peace.
Idiotic!

Instead of trying to bring freedom to Iraq and Afghanistan, the American people ought to be striving to bring freedom to the USA by rejecting political correctness and stopping the immigration of people fundamentally opposed to America's principles.

There was a nice shout-out to Robert and JW commenters at the end of Andrew McCarthy's article. Good show!

The DOD and all the services and their academies and their various arms centers (E.G., Benning's school for boys)need to have an independent (non-Muslim) review of the texts and reading lists and course descriptions. The military are apparently getting the old Islamic soft-shoe dance and buying into it.

Dear generals and admirals and captains and sergeants, your enemy is Islam, quit listening to infiltrated imams dishing out soft soap.

We did not have Nazi instructors at West Point in WWII, for a very good reason, they were the ENEMY!

Why are there Islamic instructors at any of these schools? It is impossible for them to tell the truth about Islam, and furthermore, every one is a plant by one of the Islamist organizations.

The killer of the four Lakewood, WA police officers was a Muslim. That makes 13 American soldiers and 4 American police officers killed by Muslims in this country within two months.

Islam has always been the enemy of Christianity and always will be. Many Christians of the past believed Islam to be of the Anti-Christ and that very well maybe the case.

The United States of America at one time may have been thought to be a Christian nation but as our President has already stated, that is no longer true.

Many people who consider themselves to be Christians also think Islam to also be a legitimate expression of godly religion. This type of thinking is absolute proof that these so called Christians are not only ignorant of Islamic thought and practice but are also fatally flawed in their thinking regarding Christianity.

The sad truth is that a pathetically weakened 'Christian' community is faced with a large group of militant Islamic thugs .... and are unaware of it. This only goes to prove that it is Christ alone that gives power to the Word of His Gospel.
