"Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." -- Qur'an 9:29
The jizya -- the non-Muslim poll tax -- has throughout Islamic history been the hallmark of the subjugated, second-class status of the "People of the Book" in Muslim lands. This letter distributed in Copenhagen doesn't mention Islam or Muslims, but strongly implies that this is a demand for jizya and submission in this passage: "In our country, we are so familiar to changes, radical changes, so we know what we are talking about. Your part of the world have exploited us for centuries (not you personally though), so in all fairness it would be appropriate if you lend a helping hand."
"Trusselsbreve florerer i Nordsjælland," by Katrine Øgaard Jensen in Jyllands-Posten, December 16, translated in "Jiyza Demands in Copenhagen" at Atlas Shrugs today:
This letter is dated Dec 3rd 2009 and was mailed to all families of Gentofte.,,For some time we have kept you under our scope. You are blessed with a lovely family and we hope you appreciate this fortune of live, nothing is static. We apologize for the poorly chosen time of approach (Your holy month), and will respectfully keep a distance whilst you and your family enjoys your RR.
Our lives may sometimes turn down a road we didn´t foresee, on some occasions we can change this course, on others we can´t.
Your live is about to take such a turn, and it is up to you if you want to get back on track, entirely up to you, we might add!
In our country, we are so familiar to changes, radical changes, so we know what we are talking about. Your part of the world have exploited us for centuries (not you personally though), so in all fairness it would be appropriate if you lend a helping hand.
For some reason we can´t get your government to take appropriate course of action, hence this solution.
We are civilized people, although you may think otherwise, but in order to be taken seriously, we have to stand by our terms and statements. For this purpose, we have hired ,,local contractors, surprisingly easy in Denmark, who will carry out the more uncivilized part, let´s hope it doesn´t come to that.
In short we request you to deliver 215.000,- Danish Kroner ( can be converted into USD or Pound Sterling), details will follow later on. We will give you 6 weeks from today´s date. The amount will not break you financially, we know, and we never use the same beneficial twice.
Obviously there are certain rules, simple ones.
- Do not share this with anyone or anybody.
- Meet our terms promptly.
If you fail to comply, and we will find out, we will have to initiate the next step, which will be disabling a family member. Second step, if necessary, will be more fatal. There is no room for negotiation or second chance. Once we press the red button, others will take over The people who will carry out this task do not know us and we do not know them. Due to the way they are getting paid, they will perform, trust us!We hope you will take this seriously, we have nothing to lose.
We will get back to you shortly.Regards
Does this have something to do with man made global warming?
Is the jizya related to the attempt to get us to ship 2% of our GDP to the third world? Or did this guy just get the idea that since we were going to participate in the $100 billion fund for impacted nations (if China agrees to verification), that we were easy marks and would let the cash flow for more.
Ha! Ha! HA! HA!Ha! Ha! HA! HA!Ha! Ha! HA! HA!Ha! Ha! HA! HA!Ha! Ha! HA! HA!Ha! Ha! HA! HA!Ha! Ha! HA! HA!Ha! Ha! HA! HA!Ha! Ha! HA! HA!
Stop it, Ha Ha Ha, seriously, you'e killing me. Ha Ha Ha
I ran a search on Air Tran Flight 297 (Houston to ATL) and the United Airlines flight 227 (Denver-LA), and I was surprised that the search yielded nothing.
Both flights are the subject of much discussion on the net and seems to be dry runs for Terrorist action performed by groups of middle eastern looking men that were doing very strange things such as moving about, moving packages, not following directions, singing in foreign language, making simulating shooting with their fingers and making gun noises, etc.
What gives? I figure this would have been an item that would generate a lot of discussion on this site.

Quite funny (intentionally or not) and indicative of the victim-oriented mindset, whether it be Muslims (most always victims, you know) or the third world in general trying to extort the first world for being too successful and using the giant fraud of man-made climate change to insure redistribution of wealth. And all that really has to be done is to tell rubes with false information (e.g., Muslims or the UN's IPCC) to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. Yeah, that's all.

'This letter is dated Dec 3rd 2009 and was mailed to all families of Gentofte.'
If this is the Copenhagen municipality of Gentofte, with a population of nearly 70,000 (according to Google), then it is blackmail on a large scale!
How much does it cost to mail threatening letters to that many people? And where did that money come from?
I hope the Danish government starts issuing handguns to all the families of Gentofte, and training them in their use.
I would hold off judgment on this one a little while. Think about it:
Would Muslims refer vaguely to "our country," rather than to the Ummah?
Wouldn't they explicitly refer to alleged "persecution" of their kind?
Would Muslims thoughtfully remember to distinguish between individual and collective guilt: "(not you personally though)"?
And then there are the ludicrous cliches:
"You are blessed with a lovely family and we hope you appreciate this fortune of live, nothing is static. We apologize for the poorly chosen time of approach".
"Our lives may sometimes turn down a road we didn´t foresee".
"Local contractors".
Etc., etc.
Until local police find and arrest the perp (and using the plural "we" could indicate the use of a smoke screen by a lone nutter) my safest bet would be on either spotty geeks with a decent movie collection, or a loony working on his own. Certainly not serious criminals, much less jihadists.
Agreed, anti-uffe
Anyone could have written this.
Anyone else get the feeling we are all being roped and herded, Muslims and outraged infidels as well?
There's a war coming and Islam(Iran to light the blue touch-paper) will be all nuked up and front and centre, useful Muslim idiots all; but they aren't the only enemy, just the obvious stooges.
Russia is laughing as they throw wrenches into the Euro-communist global warming scam with nicely timed 'leaks' and China stands to gain billions from that same scam.
This is getting interesting; watch Russia and China.
"We apologize for the poorly chosen time of approach (Your holy month)"
What about that mention of "Your holy month"? What might that indicate?
Not only watch Russia and China, never trust them. If all be told, however, both Russia and China have many problems of their own (e.g., in Russia too few Russians and in China too many Chinese, especially spoiled young men aplenty). The West, and particularly America, still has the most advantages if only the proper will and knowledge be not lost, which, unfortunately, are on their way to being so.
December, i.e. Christmas.
"holy month" - sounds like a phrase a Muslim might use, doesn't it?
It feels like a shakedown from the Islamic version of La Cosa Nostra. This notice needs to be turned over to the security services, if it has not already. Once again, Islam unveils itself and reveals a protection racket.
Yes, and the use of cliches and hackneyed phrases would not be that surprising for someone who only knew the language as a second language.
"For this purpose, we have hired ,,local contractors, surprisingly easy in Denmark, who will carry out the more uncivilized part, let´s hope it doesn´t come to that."
...the more uncivilized part?.....like bombings? assassinations?....kidnappings for ransoms?.....sniper attacks?.....riots?....drive-by killings?....toxic tainted food in restaurants?....destruction of rail lines?....poisoned water supplies?....oh the list of "the uncivilized part" possibilities is endless....
This letter appears to be an extortion letter with the threat of violence if there is no compliance...kinda like the instructions found in the Qur'an....and those instructions are carried out by Muslims...religiously...Islam...feel the love?...
Interesting extortion letter. Does Vito Corleone have a bastard son somewhere in the Middle East trying to emulate the Old Man, or is it Mohammad who is the model?
Grimm reaper: Snopes is claiming it was a hoax, that nothing really happened. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/flight297.asp
Of course some are saying AirTran is lying

though this second story also conterdict's the story that snopes refutes, so I have no idea.
