This statement is like that of the fantasies of a little girl waiting for her knight in shining armor to rescue her.

What "great empire" do they want to re create? The Ottoman? Vlad the Impaler held them off single-handedly.

I wish I shared your optimism. A closer look at Europe tells a different story. Rather then impossible, it looks inevitable. There isn't one measure that can be taken without opposition from a useful idiotic Left, who honestly believe it's a 'religion of peace' because, well... muslims say so.
US has an administration, that works around the clock to bring this 'muslim enriched society' ideology, to one of the only places in the world that is not (yet) threatened by it.
The vast majority of Muslims believe that Islam is true, right, and good. They believe that Islam ought to rule over all people, everywhere on earth. (Those "Muslims" who don't believe this are the nominal Muslims and the statistically rare and 'heretical" cases like Irshad Manji, etc.). Polls indicate that the vast majority of Muslims want strict sharia to be imposed. Even in the west, the vast majority of Muslims want some major elements of sharia to be imposed on non-Muslims, elements such as tight restrictions on what non-Muslims are allowed to say about Islam, and harsh penalties for those who say anything deemed by Muslims to be less than flattering toward Islam.
Muslims do not often talk to, or in the presence of, non-Muslims about Islam's goal, but occasionally some of them are perhaps overcome by feelings of exuberance about the glories of Islam, and let slip the main purpose of the Islam project. The writers of the so-called "Wahhabi Quran" can barely contain themselves with their parenthetical insertions into the Quran text:
8:39. "And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do."
Those insertions of course are not mere inventions of the Wahhabis, but rather are drawn from an overall reading of the Quran, reports in the Hadith, statements of intent in the Sira, and the summary views of the major commentators such as Ibn Kathir, Ibn Abbas, etc.

"Islam is the Religion That will dominate over all Other Religions
Allah said next,
(It is He Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth.) `Guidance' refers to the true narrations, beneficial faith and true religion that the Messenger came with. `religion of truth' refers to the righteous, legal deeds that bring about benefit in this life and the Hereafter.

Allah will never leave a house in a rural area or in urban community without its people being Muslims. This hadith, along with many others, give us glad tidings that the patch of the Muslim state will expand to cover the whole earth and that the strength of this state will grow and become obvious to all. This also denotes good news for the long-cherished hope of revival of Muslims’ unity and rebirth of Islamic Caliphate."

Not only is Abdulmutallab's seemingly implausible fantasy of Islamic world domination a mainstream aspiration of the vast majority of Muslims--as indicated by the fact that most are willing to tell pollsters that they want a world caliphate to be set up--but according to Islamic law, it is considered apostasy to believe otherwise. For a Muslim to reject the basic premise that 'Allah' intended Islam to be the religion followed by the entire world constitutes apostasy, according to Islamic jurisprudence [e.g., Reliance of the Traveller, o8.7(20); also see below]. This same mainstream source states that the penalty for apostasy is death.

Oh yeah, let us look at a world run by a bunch of baboon's behinds. At first the dhimmi are usually more able to keep the world running at somewhat the same level we are running it now, but as time passes as we become more and more numbed and dumbed down because our way of life, our schools and other things become under more and more terrorism - the world will look more like the dung heap that is Yemen, or Afghanistan, or just name some failed country run by Muslims to get a glimpse into the future.
