"Friend and Ally" Pakistan refuses to go after major Taliban figure

"American intelligence officials suspect Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence military spy agency uses [Siraj Haqqani] for its interests in Afghanistan."

A particularly obvious example of Pakistan's ongoing double game. "Pakistan nixes going after Taliban," from UPI, December 22:

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama's administration has spared no effort to publicly laud the vital role of Pakistan for the success of its Afghanistan strategy, but what is happening behind the scene tells a different story.
Pakistan, going by recent reports, is making no secret of its resentment of U.S. policy, which in essence wants its military to do more to crack down on the Taliban and other militants using its territory as sanctuaries to launch attacks against U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan.
That was in evidence last week when the Pakistani military refused to go along with a U.S. demand it go after Taliban commander Siraj Haqqani, who uses his North Waziristan hideout in Pakistan to plan attacks by his warriors across the border.
The Pakistani military argued it is already heavily involved in a counterinsurgency campaign in South Waziristan and that its resources cannot be further extended into North Waziristan. But the criticism against Pakistan is that its two-month old South Waziristan campaign has only targeted domestic militants who threaten the country's security and not against the Afghan Taliban using its territory as sanctuaries. The offensive also has only helped many of the militant leaders to escape to North Waziristan and other areas.
A senior Pakistani security official told The Times of London any confrontation with Haqqani could create more problems for the army and that "we cannot fight on so many fronts."
The Obama administration wants Pakistan, set to receive $1.5 billion of U.S. civilian aid a year for five years, to dismantle the Taliban sanctuaries in return for a long-term strategic bilateral partnership.
U.S. officials also say that besides Haqqani, top Taliban leaders including Mullah Mohammed Omar are using Quetta, capital of Pakistan's Baluchistan province, as their base, and that the United States may decide to go after these militants on its own through expanded Predator drone strikes if Pakistan doesn't cooperate.
As for Haqqani, The Times of London reported, American intelligence officials suspect Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence military spy agency uses him for its interests in Afghanistan.
A New York Times report, quoting officials, said Pakistanis feel the U.S. demand would go against the need to position their country in Afghanistan in any regional rearrangement that might involve its main rival India as well as Russia, China and Iran once America begins to draw down its troops starting in July 2011 under the Obama strategy. In that scenario, the support of Haqqani and his fighters who control substantial regions of Afghanistan would be vital....

Once again, isn't it time we cut off the aid tap to Pakistan? It would be very simple really.

"The Obama administration wants Pakistan, set to receive $1.5 billion of U.S. civilian aid a year for five years, to dismantle the Taliban sanctuaries in return for a long-term strategic bilateral partnership."

an effort in futility...cut the aid off...send it to Israel and to various Christian entitites under Islamic attack...Islam is conducting a religious war...Support those who really understand Islamic terrorists and really want no more of it....

It is very easy to critize Pak from a distance.

Pak has to considet it's politics, it's people, it's religion and above all it's arch enemy India before opening (and being bogged down)another damagiing front against possibly the best guerilla fightiing force on Allah's SWT duniya.

Imagine if we got bogged down on the South and the North....India may consider this an ideal time to invade us...sorry no can do.

We need security guarantees & more money to open up on fronts...you cannot provide enough of either.

You have your drones....you have your satellites....why not do the job yourselves....you are a pain in the a$$ to the locals but around anyway...so go on ...have a blast ...knock yourself out.

Yom

Dear Yom, you are a country of cowards... Your leaders need to grow a set.............as do you................

Salam ddoggma

I presume you are Hindoo....We have had 3 wars already, at partition you nicked half of Azad Kashmir...making some stupid excuse that "Hari Singh" wanted you to have it....how can you have something that is not yours?

Now you have also blocked our water with some Dams and disturbing the ecological balance there.

India can not be trusted....you are throwing huge expense at developing your secret service RAW to throw our ISI off balance and that's not right.

I hear that Hindoos are being circumscised simply to try & pretend to be muslims to get into your services....shame on you.

Our economy too can grow at 7% like yours ...given the chance. Instead of all your American companies going to India....come to Pak...we can look to support your networks, we can write and devlop software for you, we can run call centres for you, (we have English speakers just like the Indians) but you beggers won't even come on Holiday, let alone do some business with us.

That is how to help, give us some of your mission critical orders, AND we can protect your staff.

But I know what your response will be....so we will help you fight America's war on terrorism here in Pak as best as we can....but hey...don't push it...no Northern front ...capish!

Salam Suzi,

You say "I need to grow a set............."

Being a healthy virile man I can assure that I already have a fine set of ........ generously given by merciful Allah SWT.

Hope this helps to ally your fears of (at least one) Pak man.

The only thing on which I ever agreed with the creep abdullah mikhail (the paid misinformer form CAIR Dallas) is Yom al Juma.

He's a fake.

A con.

Why anyone even acknowledges him is beyond me.

Salam Yankel,

so educate me? Whay do YOU think I am a fake...enlighten this Pakistani Muslim?

From Yom...so educate me? Whay do YOU think I am a fake...enlighten this Pakistani Muslim?

All Pakistani brothers join their brothers in the Ummah...The land of fake, dar al-fraud. Everything about it is fake...A fake god, a fake Prophet, a fake scripture, and a fake faith...The only thing that's real about Islam is sharia and jihad...You can see the reality in their application...

India...If the Pakistan army is spread out so thin that it can't win a conflict in its own borders against a 'minute minority' of extremists, how can it have any hope of conventionally beating India?

there is some misinformation in comments about pakistan and
india; if india wanted west pakistan it could have easily taken it in 1971 and it already had taken east pakistan which
it gave to the bangladeshis?
as for kashmir, it was supposed to be all indian, according to
the terms agreed uppon by leaders of the sub-continent india's
independence from british rule;it's partition as well as of
punjab was/is muslim leaders's fault.
as for "allah's guerilla fighters",they should all be killed
and kicked out of pakistan and killing/kicking them out should
be considered as one front;not south, north, east or west front.

Yom -

Interestingly enough, it was Pakis who gave me my first clue as to the vileness of Islam.

Frankly, I think India _should_ invade Pakistan, and convert all of ye into Hinduism.

I have more respect for someone who worships a guy with extra arms, or an elephant-man, or even a monkey, than someone who worships a hateful and hateworthy god such as yours, who advocates things that civilized people consider crimes and, in your own words, seeks slaves.

Salam Aziz,

Dost, Yeah baat nahin hain!
India could have taken W. Pak in 1971....but didn't. It prompted Pak to search for solutions where India couldn't take Pak...enter the nuke.

No one is mad enough for nukes to be used...and is Pak's guarantee to never be invaded by ferangi again.

As for killing "Allah's SWT guerilla fighters", many ferangi have had their go...Alexander the great, the British, the Russ, now the Americans and Nato....you KNOW that it will be impossible to kill them all....opening another front simply means that we have to deploy jawans for ever and a day on another front....this is not something to be taken lightly.

We have severe pressure from them now in Peshawar, Lahore and Multan already. Later we will have to face them in Karachi and Sind.

To me it makes no sense to open another front in the North which is their home advantage. Better to deploy in our larger cities in the coming months and years.

If you Americans' cannot wait...then by all means YOU deploy there....but it's gonna cost you extra, as our soverign land will not be available to your troops for free....and you better be wanting to be there for the long haul.

Yom

This is from an editorial by Joel Brinkley in the usually far left San Francisco Chronicle, with the surprisingly blunt headline "Ungrateful Pakistanis and Afghans hate U.S.", where he chronicle the tone—both aggressive and whinging—of Muslims vis-a-vis Western sacrifice:

"Most telling of all was Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari's cri de coeur, an op-ed in the New York Times Dec. 10 . Zardari asked Americans to look at recent history "as seen by Pakistanis." As he described it, over the last few decades the United States has insulted, slighted and ignored Pakistan, all "to manipulate and exploit us." American support for dictators in the 1980s "turned our peaceful nation into a Kalashnikov and heroin society ," he wrote. Then "after 9/11, the United States closed its eyes to the abuses " of Musharraf. "For Pakistanis it is a bitter memory ." Now, he says, the nation is insulted once again because a new law requires the United States to certify that Pakistan is actually "demonstrating a sustained commitment" to "combatting terrorist groups" before delivering aid. That, Zardari complains, is "unfair treatment."

That any accountability on Pakistan's part for the billions we have poured into that country is seen as "unfair" should be stunning.

That Zardari can claim—with an apparently straight face—that Pakistan was a "peaceful nation" before those ugly Americans mucked things up is astonishing.

As for aid from America—with no strings attached, his attitude is, "let it flow, let it flow, let it flow!" [apologies to the Christmas song writers]

Here's the Chronicle piece (oddly, with an altered headline):

And the NYTs op-ed:

@Yom (the fake)

Simple. You pretend to be a female, but it's 100% clear that you're a male.

Your language skills are deliberatly dumbed down, but rear up unexpectedly.

Now, tell me why you hate Muslims SO MUCH, that you come on this thread impersonating one, just to make muhammadans look THAT MUCH WORSE!!!!!!

Why Yom? Why do you hate Muslims so much.

Please enlighten!

Please share!!!

Salam Yankel,

I have ALWAYS said I am a virile (Pakistani) man...it is your idiot collegue/postee Isabella who keeps insistinig that I am some woamn called Naseem...which I am definately not.

I try to keep my skills to the same consistency ...but I didn't think that I was doing anything deliberately.

As to hate hating muslims....whatever gave you that stupid idea. I love Islam ...and most muslims. Some ofcourse give us a bad name and thus a bad outlook....they are the ones who give us a bad name ...not me.

I hope this helps you if not ...here is some urdu for you!

Mera naam Yom hai...Naseem nahin.

Yom---Naseem...You can keep denying that you are Naseem in drag, but if the shoe/burka fits you must wear it...Naseem is a Pakistani, you are a Pakistani...No one has ever seen Yom and Naseem in the same room at the same time, proving you are one and the same...Here's some plain english for you...Isabela is right...Say Naseem, did you ever get another shore? How's the kids?

Alexander the great came long before "allah" was born in arabia; and people in the hindu-kush area were mostly peaceful
budhist and there were no "allah's guerilla fighters" and raja
porus was not muslim because islam did not get invented yet
(again) because allah was not born yet.

Salam Aziz,

Don't be silly ...Islam was "born" with the 1st humans ...Amma Heva and Hazraat Adam.

Islam is as old as the oldest religion...Musa and Nuh from the old testament were 2 of Islam's greatest prophets.

Muhd SAW was the final and grestest prophet.

Please read up on your history Aziz.

Yom

@Yom

So mud saw muhammad was a greater prophet than Jesus?

That pretty much proves that you're a fake muslim.
