Holder laments influence of "people who have misinterpreted Islam"

And those Misinterpreters are so numerous and influential!

"Mr. Nice Guy: Eric Holder Jr. on investigating torture, closing Guantánamo ... and a certain former vice president," by Daniel Klaidman for Snoozeweek, December 21 (thanks to Charles):

What we've seen in the recent past, I think, is an indication of one of the things that we're going to have to be most concerned about in the future, this self-radicalization of American citizens or people who reside in the United States. They have too often come under the influence of people who have misinterpreted Islam.

Maybe the Attorney General will clue us in on where we can find the correct interpretation. But I won't be holding my breath.

The Memphis jihadist Mohamed Ibrahim (the other Christmas Day jihadist) has been charged with terrorism for his jihad-inspired threats. Must have been a case of holiday stress.

He could first clue himself in by sitting under a palm tree while keeping an eye on the boss playing golf, with a Koran in one hand and, I dunno, a copy of The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran in the other?

They have too often come under the influence of people who have misinterpreted Islam.

Being a Columbia Man, and thereby an Ivy League Man, the acknowledged crook Atty Gen'l Holder is too stupid to know what he's talking about. Sure he was a genius to start out, but going to Columbia must've been a truly stupefying experience, even for a Diversity Ken Doll.

Eric wouldn't wanna check a damned fact. That'd be injurisprudent, now wouldn't it?

The fact of the matter is that America presently has an Attorney General who is a fool. It's that simple.

Eric Holder would no doubt be appalled if he learned of someone teaching Constitutional Law at an American university who, it turned out, had never bothered to read the Dred Scott case, nor Loving v. Virginia, nor Shelley v. Kraemer, nor Brown v. Bd. of Education, nor a whole host of other cases involving race, and the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.

But he, Eric Holder, presumes to make pronouncements about Islam, to tell us that those Muslims who are involved in acts or attempted acts or planned acts of terrorism, because they have always had, or recently or not so recently acquired, a deep faith in Islam, one which is not modified by calculations of self-interest (as with many Muslims now living in the West who must act one way until such time as they feel their numbers and power have increased sufficiently), or custom or nuance, or a prudential choice to support Jihad through other methods that at this point will be less likely to attract the attention and the alarm of unwary or lazy Infidels, such as deployment of the Money Weapon, campaigns of Da'wa (targetting in particular the psychically and economically marginal) and, especially in Western Europe, demographic conquest.

Could Eric Holder, or for that matter his own boss, Barack Obama, who would also no doubt be appalled if someone were to teach, to presume to teach, American Constitutional Law without that knowledge of Dred Scott, Loving v. Virginia, Shelley v. Kraemer, Brown v. Bd. of Education, and another two dozen important cases, tell us exactly in what ways -- quoting from the texts of Islam -- how Mr. Mutalla, or how for that matter Nasrallah of Hezbollah, or Mishaal of Hamas, or the leaders or members of Lashkar-e-Toiba, or Jaish-e-Muhammad, or Al Qaeda (merely the most ambitious and most attention-getting of Muslim terrorist groups, of which there are hundreds, along with thousands of groupouscules and millions of individuals, all of whom take what Islam teaches very much to heart) -- has "misinterpreted Islam"?

We are told this over and over. We are never given a single bit of proof, not a single interpolated or apocryphal passage, attributed to the Qur'an, Hadith, Sira. We are never told even of a single Hadith, upon which reliance has been put by Muslim terrorists, that has been improperly assigned a higher rank of authenticity (according to the most respected muhaddithin) than it deserves. We are given not a single shred of evidence, textual or otherwise, to support the idea that there has been a "misinterpretation" of Islam.

Eric Holder can keep repeating this stuff, and so can others, so can Barack Obama, for example, until the cows come home. But the more those who presume to protect and instruct us show that they expect us to be satisfied, and that they themselves are apparently satisfied, with soothing banalities and assertions that are easily shown to be baseless, they lose trust. The very people they claim to lead, and to protect, stop trusting them. And when we stand in line for hours, for new security measures, and when we see, with our own eyes, the absurdity of all the obvious non-Muslims, including the very young and the very old, who are called out of line for extra checks, that are tiresome for everyone but performed, thus using up valuable man hours of the security services, only in order to prove...well, to prove what? That non-Muslims should be checked, too, though we all know what we are looking for is Muslim terrorists, committing acts of terrorism because of what Islam inculcates -- the duty of Jihad to remove all barriers to the spread and then the dominance of Islam -- and that they differ from other Muslims only in that they have decided to both participate in Jihad directly (rather than indirectly, through financial, diplomatic, propagandistic, or moral support), and have chosen to use violence (for they see terrorism not as we do, but as acceptable qitaal, military combat, their modus operandi justified by the fact that given Infidel superiority in weapons technology, the odds have to be evened through terrorism)as their instrument of Jihad.

No one is asking Eric Holder, or anyone else in the Administration, to take off a few months to study at Leiden, or Aix-en-Provence (two of the universites that Arab money and Muslim personnel have not yet managed to take over and transform in the Islamic and Middle Eastern areas). No one expects him to have read deeply in Ignaz Goldziher, Snouck Hurgronje, Joseph Schacht, Henri Lammens, or several dozen other great Western scholars of Islam whose works do not date, for Islam has not changed. But we do expect from him a justified diffidence, a hesitation to make pronouncements about Islam that are as palpably absurd, and as worrisome to all those who do something, when he states that the problem are those who "misunderstand Islam."

Among Muslims, the problem for Infidels is not those who "misinterpret Islam" but those who do not, who understand its letter and spirit all to well and, what is most important, are willing to act direclty on what Islam inculcuates, and not to be timid, not to be distracted, not to allow calculations of self-interest (as when one does not wish to endanger one's position in the world and, especially, in the Infidel world where one may be living), and where, of course, one may also have calculated that there are far cleverer ways to conduct Jihad below the current radar systems of the Infidels, for what are the sinister tariq-ramadans doing if not conducting Jihad, in a much more dangerous fashion, one might think, as they try to confuse Infidels, and whip up indignation against those who, like Geert Wilders, merely try to tell some unvarnished and disturbing truths -- truths which more and more people in Western Europe, despite the propaganda campaigns conducted on behalf of Islam not only by Muslims, but by their own political and media elites, have come to conclusions about Islam, come to them slowly, reluctantly, often unwillingly, that then result in such measures as the Swiss referendum that expressed an overwhelming desire by people to ban minarets, but also, one can be sure, to limit the presence and power of Islam in a dozen other ways. And that Swiss ban is supported, public opinion polls tell us, overwhelmingly by people in France, Great Britian, and elsewhere.

Eric Holder can utter all the falsehoods he wishes. He will merely become someone who loses the trust of those whose trust he needs -- not those in political life, who to the extent that they continue to ignore or misstate the matter, who lack the wit to figure out ways to discuss the matter, if not head on, at least with the kind of semaphoring language of metonymy ("Jihad" for "Islam" will do nicely at this point, until the real thing comes along) that some mastered long ago, possbibly by sitting still in class, which at this point Eric Holder might learn to do, or if not, then to at least remember the too-quoted line that nonetheless will have to do: "Whereof we do not know, thereof we should not speak." As my music teacher used to say in a different context: Listen to Ludwig.

"Maybe the Attorney General will clue us in on where we can find the correct interpretation."

He doesn't have to. You can find the correct interpretation and learn much right here at Jihad Watch. I heartily recommend it to all my friends.

If that won't do, search for some of the many authors that Hugh recommends, or some of the authoritative Islamic works such as Reliance of the Traveller.

As for the Attorney General reading and learning anything useful about Islam: I have a better chance of winning the lottery.

How about a 6th daily prayer to clear up the misunderstanding?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
God's wrath strikes with great fury and vengeance, just for today may i be excused from the killing, maiming, and intimidations.

That's about right level of pulp fiction.

The question should be on what do you base this assertion? Do you have any source to base such a statement on?

Exactly.

Hey Holder: "Misinterpret" this:

"Kill non-Muslims wherever you find them. Lie in wait and ambush them, seize and capture them using every stratagem of war." - Qur'an 9:5

Well, Holder? As Wellington said, you're a fool.

Well, Holder? As Wellington said, you're a fool.

But Wellington said that in a different time, back when being a ridiculous dumbass carried a price. Now, you make a fool of yourself you get promoted and a fat raise, and a big boost in prestige at the Ruling Elite cocktail parties.

*** 92:8 ***

It's guided discourse, it's opinion programming. Holder's doing a good job looking like a brilliant fellow forced to say ridiculous and dangerous things because that is what must be done to maintain the politesse, proper decorum wihtin the friendly confines of Fictive Reality.

No doubt. But, being a Doubting Thomas, please let me observe here that while race is an issue under enforcement, strict enforcement in fact, Islam is an issue for which enforcement is not only not mandated, it's forbidden.

*** 92:8 ***

The ruling elite has been engorging itself for decades now on the automatic appointment of Pedigree Puppy Mill Fancy Finishing School credential-bearers bearing bearable bonds of certified certitude. All inspected and vouchable.

That's the ticket for admittance into our new ruling elite. Fair enough, but the trouble is that the stupider the Ivy League and Stanfords and Cals and Northwesterns and Dukes and Georgetowns get, the more dangerous their collective effect.

*** 92:8 ***

When the Beach Boys sang Be True to Your School, they were singing about neighborhood pride and cute chicks and football Friday nights and drag races, not systematic self-destruction of our Judeo-Christian culture.

*** 92:8 ***

Eric Holder doesn't give a damn whether or not he's wrong on Islam. His sole concern in this is what's marketable and programmable opinion in the larger scheme of things, whatever that is.

Alarmed Pig Farmer, Eric Holder is another example of a conceited American Leftist who insists on being taken as an expert on theology after refusing to attend Church, Synagogue, or Mosque for years; being unable to tell you whether Job is in the Old Testament or the New; and countless statements of contempt for organized religion.

I get so sick and tired of such people pretending that their empty-headed PeeCeeism entitles them to make solemn pronouncements on everyone else's theology.

"... the influence of people who have misinterpreted Islam."

The people who seem to be doing the most to misinterpret Islam for us are not necessarily the Moslems themselves, but rather our "leadership". How many times in the last ten years or so have we heard from our Presidents, cabinet secretaries, Congressmen, university deans, bishops, TV anchormen, newspaper editors and columnists, et al, the lies that Islam is "a religion of peace" and that the continuing attacks on us are the work of "a tiny minority"?

I think Eric Holder has no intention of defending America against Jihad. He is anti-American first and foremost, just like the POTUS. His sham trial of the terrorist in NYC is not about convicting any terrorist. It's intended to be his eagerly sought show trial of former President Bush and Dick Cheney. It will be a mockery and that is precisely what he wants.

He knows that he will never empanel a jury in NYC capable of convicting a terrorist. A good 25-30% of New Yorkers believe to a certainty that Bush and Cheny conspired to bring the attack on NYC in order to take Iraqi oil. Probably a full majority of the NYC Common Council believes that. Holder knows that he will have jury nullification running in his favor. The case will likely go before a Clintonista appointed stooge. For the Obama Administration and the ruling Democrats it's the perfect setup to show the evil of GWB and the innocence of their poor misunderstood muslim allies.

If Holder really wanted a conviction, NYC is the last place he'd bring this trial. Obama has even done his best to sabotage the case by making ridiculous pre-trial predjudical comments -- so over the top that a trained lawyer like Obama knew exactly how he was undermining the case when he made them. On cue, the defendant's lawyers were already picking up on the President Obama's remarks and crying foul.

This trial is a farce and that is exactly what the Democrats want. They don't care how many Americans die as victims of Jihad, they really don't.

Oh yea, when the President finally set aside a few moments of his vacation to address the threat, he talked about how we relentlessly catch everyone responsible and see them brought to trial. What a joke that is. When you see how the Dems conduct the terror trial in NYC, you'll know that Obama is giving the would-be Detroit flight bombers a free pass.

Where are the Muslim jihadists getting their "religion" wrong?
