Merry Christmas, kuffar. "Passenger Ignites Explosive on Delta Flight, Al Qaeda Connection Reported," from Fox News, December 25 (thanks to Keith):
A male passenger reportedly linked to terrorist organization al-Qaeda ignited a powdery substance prior to landing on a Delta Airlines flight to Detroit Friday. The suspect is believed to be Nigerian, Fox News reported.Several people were hurt and one person was admitted to the University of Michigan Medical Center at Ann Arbor, hospital spokeswoman Tracy Justice said. An emergency was declared aboard the flight, operated as Northwest flight 253, according to a Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson.
The suspect, who suffered second-degree burns, told federal investigators he was directed by al-Qaeda, though authorities are questioning the veracity of that statement, ABC reported. A federal situational awareness bulletin noted that the explosive was acquired in Yemen with instructions as to when it should be used, ABC said....
thank God it didn't bring the plane down.
How awful for those passengers.
Infuriating on so many levels, from the security breach on this particular flight to the ongoing, willful ignorance of the ideological motivation on the part of those responsible for public safety.
That's yet another attempted attack for 2009, as well.
just another loser for Islam....probably banged his head too many times in the mosque.....
Where's profiling when you really need it?
During heavily-traveled times such as the Christmas Season, profiling could save a lot of time and inconvenience for legitimate travelers and perhaps nab a few "suspects" who would otherwise go undetected.
profiling offends bombers....
Business Week writes: "A Northwest Airlines passenger was taken into custody after causing a disturbance with what an airline spokeswoman identified as firecrackers on a Detroit- bound flight."
(CNN) -- A passenger ignited fireworks Friday at the end of a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Detroit, Michigan, a Delta Air Lines spokeswoman said.
The Press Association writes: "A passenger aboard a plane at the US Detroit Metropolitan Airport caused a commotion and some minor injuries by setting off firecrackers, officials said."
And now we know the rest of the story.
Let's all relax and not be discriminatory here. The guy is only lighting something that's part of his praying to his Allah. Maybe he wants to offer sacrifices. He wants to sacrifice the passengers. So just relax, everyone!
Just read about this story on NPR. Guess they hadn't had time yet to remove the 'possible ties to al-Qaeda' part.
Oh, and sonofwalker, yeah, it's perfectly normal to be setting of firecrackers on a plane. Especially by people with possible ties to terrorist organizations.
Nothing to see here, move along! These are not the droids you're looking for.

An intended Christmas Day gift to kuffar from Islamic jihadist?
After all, the date in Mecca is not a significant one, but is only: 8 Muharram 1431.

This has nothing to do with Islam. Nothing I say.
You really do need to work at your disinformation. It is really pathetic. Should I go to the sites you used as references? Unlike you, I will furnish actual links.
BusinessWeek: http://www.businessweek.com/news/2009-12-25/obama-orders-heightened-security-after-disturbance-on-plane.html
The passenger had an explosive device that failed according to the article just cited.
Here is the lead story on the incident from CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2009/TRAVEL/12/25/airliner.firecrackers/index.html
You apparently ran with an intial report with hope and joy that was completely unfounded. Here is the Headline for this: "Explosive device set off aboard airliner"
Hey, let's try another one: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34592031/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts/
Now, should we laugh at you before, after, or during your subsequent visits to Jihad Watch?
Also, could you stop stealing lines from Paul Harvey? Unlike you, Paul Harvey was a careful commentator who built up his reputation over the decades. He would not have been as rash and silly as you in running with a story he knew little or nothing about. You really are not a good servant to Allah with such sloppy work.
Worry01, I would suggest you do some homework of your own. I've been commenting here since near the beginning, and since you are a relative newcomer with not much skill in piecing together commentary, please look me up to find something of use before you decide to slag me. Pretty silly on you part.
I am hardly a newcomer, and the point was not to give you extended commentary. Rather, it was to demonstrate that you provided partial and misleading information in your initial post. As I said above, I was happy to furnish actual links, unlike you. Finally, will you admit that your previous post which attempted to demonstrate that the incident involved fireworks/firecrackers on the Detroit flight was inaccurate?
"....please look me up to find something of use before you decide to slag me..." What you received was complete information, and not slag my dear friend.
Being haughty does not really answer anything, but rather demonstrates your inability or unwillingess to respond concretely. You are like a little squid squirting its ink cloud before fleeing. If you have anything to say, say it in this forum.
So he suffers second degree burns. How about giving him third degree burns in the electric chair?
I guess I'm always the last to say something.
I like the electric chair suggestion...I am wondering how could a terrorist like this one get by the security and get onboard with his explosives?
My gosh...this is really bad.
This could have been another horrible tragedy for Americans. Thank God Almighty for a miracle that honors life. Something that Islam doesn't understand. All Islam knows is death and chaos.
