I think a Christian state is needed in the Middle East, much like the State of Israel was needed to ensure the religious rights, and freedom of conscious for Jews as needed due to Islamic norms.
A place for all Christians to flee to and defend, and form a government to ensure their religious freedoms.
The reason Islam does not recognize freedom of conscious is due to the fact that there would be no Islam if it wasn't backed up with fear and violence.
There were many Christian states in the Middle East and beyond that were conquered and gradually Islamicized by financial pressure (jizya), discrimination and massacre.
Most Sudanese barely have enough money for food but yet these have enough to travel to Egypt to hunt down an apostate. Priorities, priorities...
Many Sudanese Christians (and some nominal Muslims) flee from the full-on jihad in Sudan, into Egypt, since horrible as it is, it isn't yet *quite* as horrible as Sudan even if it is heading that way. Some I think take refuge in Ethiopia, which is majority Christian; not sure why this lady didn't try for Ethiopia, maybe she was in a part of Sudan that was closer to the Egyptian border. Maybe she wasn't thinking clearly when she bolted.
Her best hope now is...to try to flee to Israel, unless some Western country can find the guts to step up to the plate and offer her asylum. Quite a few Sudanese refugees-from-jihad, having discovered that in Egypt they are exploited, abused, called abeed (blackslave), the Arabic-language equivalent of 'nigger', and sometimes even killed out of hand, have made the extremely dangerous journey across Sinai and into Israel. The Egyptian Muslim border guards shoot to kill...killing not people who are *entering* Egypt, but...people who are *leaving*.
The Israelis scoop up those that the Egyptian Muslims don't manage to kill, check them out, and have given asylum to many: I recall an article in Jerusalem Post where one of these Sudanese Christians was rhapsodising about...Israeli jails, because, as he put it, "they don't hit you". (Whereas, presumably, in Sudanese and Egyptian Muslim jails...'nuff said). The Bible Society in Israel provides the Christians with Bibles (many are very devout and delighted to be in the Holy Land) and, I think, carries out discreet evangelising of the nominal Muslims among them who are, shall we say, at least somewhat disillusioned by the awful treatment they have received from 'Arab' Muslims in Sudan and then in Egypt.
It's a pity the Israelis were fooled/ strongarmed into handing the Sinai back to Egypt, for nothing. Because if they hadn't, then people like this lady wouldn't have to flee so far; there could be a discreet underground railroad for those who were willing to live peaceably and productively within a Jewish-majority state. Imagine refugee Copts and Sudanese Christians reclaiming the desert, in alliance with the Jews, watching Israel's back and having their backs watched by Israel, and - as a bonus - keeping the east bank of the Suez free of Muslim thugs. Great Might-Have-Beens 1001...
Why do we put up with these bigots? Easy solution, require Muslims in the West to travel anywhere they like back to the Islamic homelands. Give them 5 years to dissapate, after that, force them back to Saudi (or their country of ethnic origin). Forget citizenship niceties, Islam does not recognise nationalities, why should we recognise them?
All that will remain will be western converts. Let them live in peace but jump on them with heavy boots if they muck up.
