ISTANBUL, December 15 (CDN) -- In response to a Swiss vote banning the construction of new mosque minarets, a group of Muslims this month went into a church building in eastern Turkey and threatened to kill a priest unless he tore down its bell tower, according to an advocacy group.Three Muslims on Dec. 4 entered the Meryem Ana Church, a Syriac Orthodox church in Diyarbakir, and confronted the Rev. Yusuf Akbulut. They told him that unless the bell tower was destroyed in one week, they would kill him.
"If Switzerland is demolishing our minarets, we will demolish your bell towers too," one of the men told Akbulut.
The threats came in reaction to a Nov. 29 referendum in Switzerland in which 57 percent voted in favor of banning the construction of new minarets in the country. Swiss lawmakers must now change the national constitution to reflect the referendum, a process that should take more than a year.
The Swiss ban, widely viewed around the world as a breach of religious freedom, is likely to face legal challenges in Switzerland and in the European Court of Human Rights....

Threaten to kill a priest? Well, then let's redefine multiculturalism to exclude those Muslims and mosques seeking to gradually impose an Islamic monoculture. Let's ban more than minarets. Let's ban any mosque whose imams preach Islamic supremacy. Let's ban further Muslim immigration to the West, until such time as Islamic societies stop imposing Islamic law or an Islamic ethos on minorities. Non-Muslim societies can get immigrants from non-Muslim parts of Asia, Africa, Europe, South America. We can have rainbow societies made up of any groups prepared to support pluralism and multiculturalism. Who needs totalitarian Islam?

I have stated this on many web sites, until the Christians around the world start to defend their religion the Muslims
will continue to push them ( kill them ) around. If one church in Turkey gets destroyed by Muslims then 3 mosques in
Europe should be destroyed by Christian groups. This is a
language the Muslims will clearly understand.Doing nothing
is something that they don't understand and you lose respect
and honor in their eyes.In the short run will it increase violence? Yes it will. The Christians have let this go on for so long it will take a little while for the world wide Muslims to get the idea that if they attack Christians anywhere in the world then someplace in the world the Muslims will pay triple the price. After a while an uneasy peace
will follow and that's about all we can hope for when dealing with the Muslims.
Islam has created an extremely combative environment in every country. When anyone tries to defend themselves against its barbarity, muslims all over the world get up in arms. I am sure that at some time in the near future, a planet wide apartheid will have to be practiced against islam as it does not let any one live in peace. It is in a constant state of war, ask any of the mullahs.
I wonder if they will toss that poor priest off the minaret. I read once that they used to do that in olden days. Ditto to all the commentators ahead of me.
