I'm sure he was just doing research on how to counter such "misunderstandings" in his faith. Poor guy was just caught up in the islamophobia wave sweeping western nations.

Most of Albanians, they do avoid speaking about religion (it is not in chance that Albania, during its communist regime has become the one and only, in human history, officially religionless country)… they know that it is a very bitter story for themselves. They became Islamicized (a major part of them) very recently. Somewhere between seventeen and nineteen centuries. Forgotten in their mountainous area from patriarchate of Constantinople (because of their not being Greek speaking people), insignificant for Vatican (because of their being few in numbers and isolated) an easy pray for the Ottomans who pressured them to the utmost for using them in their causes. Those figures we see very often in Orientalist painters’ as the Ottoman guards, grandiosely mustached, full of arms in their belts, smoking leisurely in dark corners, with their pleated long skirts. The Ottomans offered them even the highest ranks for taking them in their side. Some thirty and more grand viziers of the Sublime Port were of Albanian origin. The most famous Blue Mosque of Istanbul is the work of an architect of Albanian origin (Sedefkar Mehmed agha). The first encyclopedia compiled in the Ottoman state (in the perspective of its ‘Westernization’, during its last centuries) is the work of Sami Frasheri another Albanian from the Permet area of Southern Albania and… even the poet of the national anthem of today’s Turkey: Mehmet Akif Ersoy, an Albanian from Kosovo. So… how to resist such temptations, even if you have as your national hero someone who did fight against Ottomans and Islamization...
The recent clash between Serbs and Albanians was a purely ethnic one. It had nothing to do with religion but Albanians’ being Muslim in those areas offered a lot of sublimating arguments to their unjust, in that particular case, enemies. As it is said… it is Albanians’ tragic fate. There is nothing other to do then pray that one day they will understand it and awake.
So far as I can see this was only reported on the local news and he was described as "A Derby man" with the detail that he was a "failed asylum seeker" mentioned later.

OT When the Albanians first arrived here 10 years ago it was noticed that they were "overrepresented" in knife crime. PC speak for they were stabbing a lot more of the natives and others than their % of the population permitted. The police therefore ran a campaign to explain to them that it was not usual or nice to carry a knife in Britain.
I do not know if it worked but if it did not thay would not tell us anyway.

In other words: all the sacred ritual objects required by thoroughly modern and up-to-date worshippers of the Arab god of blood and war. In the olden days, one would have found merely swords and knives and (in the rare cases of a 'literate' Muslim) Quranic texts with commentaries, and the bloodily-boastful written accounts of Muslim conquests and attendant atrocities; but today it's explosives, bomb belts, and lurid snuff videos depicting the murder of Infidel sacrificial victims.
I seem to recall that, also in the UK, a native British convert to Islam was discovered to have a suicide belt hung up in his wardrobe, and in his kitchen, a biscuit-tin full of homemade explosive.
Now: what could an Albanian and a native Brit possibly have in common, that identical ritual objects - the bomb belt, the explosives - turn up in the homes of both?
Maybe it's ...Islam, the birth religion of one, the deliberately (and foolishly) chosen religion of the other.
And England and the US did unspeakable evil unto the Serb people to make the Albanian KLA terrorists the rulers of Kosovo. Now, the chickens are coming home to roost.
