As I've pointed out many times, Islamic jihadists and Islamic supremacists claim that they are the true Muslims, the exponents of authentic Islam. They recruit among peaceful Muslims by means of this appeal. And while self-proclaimed moderate Muslims expend immense effort -- notably at this site -- to convince non-Muslims that the jihadist interpretation of Islam is wrong, wrong, wrong, they don't seem to be concerned in the least about trying to convince Muslims like these young egg-throwers that they are misunderstanding the Religion of Peace™.

Thankfully it was only eggs they threw at her!

I guess she's saying that they're a minority of extremists who've hijacked the religion of peace. Not much different from the self-claimed moderate Muslims and their apologists who visit this site. Unlike our visitors, however, at least she's telling that to the pious ones directly.
It doesn't make her any less dead if they decide to throw something worse than eggs.
Who will she tell that her version of Islam is really the correct one? To whom will she appeal?

It is nice that our pet Muslim apologists are limited to insults and snippy comments. I would hate to have to dodge eggs and stones and other projectiles.
Someone has posted on the Daily Mail site that apart from that paper and the BBC this story is not being covered in the rest of the MSM.
As you will imagine most DM comments are hostile to the "tiny minority of extremists" but this one is worth notice,

I knew nothing about this woman until today. I did google her name and read a few articles on her. Found nothing that would indicate she's a plant. I'm not contradicting you. I simply didn't find anything really damaging about her. Overall she struck me as a straight Irshad Manji type who has probably half convinced herself that there is a good Islam lurking out there somewhere, something I came to reject long ago. There's a passive Islam but there's no good Islam. From what I can tell she's fooling herself, as are all Muslims who think Islam is not the problem, just some misguided believers are. But the reality is that Islam is indeed the real problem and its more "enthusiastic" adherents are just a symptom of this

Yeah, when I read the story I really couldn't care less.
The problem with debating a religious belief is that it is not a debate. At best, it is an information exchange.
And the "true believers" are so convinced that they do not wish to hear anything but their religious truth. Thus, there is no discussion with devout Muslims. And to be frank, there is no discussion to be had with Catholics, Jews, or any other religion. Only with the most devout and intelligent do we have useful conversations where they discuss the bases for their beliefs and the true elements of faith.
Yet the way Islam is preached these days is by rote. It is imposed upon people. It takes a person with an extraordinary broad minded and introspective background to admit that perhaps the religion he or she was raised with might be wrong.
The rest of these people? They're so stuck in the ruts that their parents have laid for them that all they can think to do is to throw eggs and scream.

The issue is what Islam teaches and that some Muslims--like those creepy fellows in the BBC video--really love their Islam.
What I've learned about this woman from the Comments on the Daily Mail is that she was appointed to a peerage by some PC Tory named David Cameron.
One comment said "Imagine a non-Muslim being appointed to a high position in a Muslim country - doesn't happen. Only in Broken Britain." The comments that received the most "hands-up" - I mean in the 500-700 range - were, how should I say? NOT sorry she was pelted with eggs. Apparently she tries to shut Nick Griffin up all the time, and even compared the egg-throwers to Griffin! Who hasn't done anything of the sort. She is a liability to the Tories, that's what I've learned from reading the comments of UK citizens.
