GUN-toting members of a new Birmingham teenage gang are boasting about becoming suicide bombers, it was claimed last night.The chillingly named Bang Bang Taliban have told community workers they want to dominate the city's gangland - and that they would gladly be "martyred" as Islamist terrorists.
The gang, thought to be linked to the notorious Burger Bar Boys, mainly consists of Asian youngsters from the Handsworth area.
"They're threatening rivals with violence and talking about becoming suicide bombers," said one community worker, who asked not to be named. Their affiliation is with the Burgers, and nine out of 10 of their members will start off as couriers and runners for the bigger gangs.

That's understood. But the use of "Asian" in the article remains a euphemism for "Muslim." The editors of the newspaper know that if they refer to "Asians," it gives the Muslims a huge fig leaf to hide behind. That way, Muslims won't be calling in to express anger, threats of violence or lawsuits, etc. Further, the article's use of the term "Asians" submits to the nonsense that that those doing this are a racial minority -- and that lets Muslims off the hook, because no one can help his race. Race is not a choice. If "Asians" have a tendency to go around doing brutal thuggish things, well, it must be because of racial discrimination against those Asians, or at any rate, because of a disharmony between the majority race and the minority race. That disharmony is a not based on irreconcilable moral differences, but rather on overrating the importance of pigmentation. But the thing looks so different if the thugs are not "Asians," but Muslims, because being a Muslim is a choice. Where there is choice, there can be outrage and condemnation of that choice if it is destructive or immoral. Whereas it is foolish to be outraged at someone for having different pigmentation. And because being Muslim is a choice, to name the group of thugs as Muslims is almost tantamount to criticizing Islam. And the Mercury probably doesn't want that grief.
